I have been taking our 3 dogs to Dr Yates office for at least 15 yrs, different dogs and cats. We took our German Shepherd to be washed and nails clipped. After pickup I called and asked the clipper if nails could be cut shorter? Only a question. The next day we received a UPS envelope saying that they were removing our animals from the practice and go elsewhere. I was devastated. The groomer had my animals kicked out over a question. This is unbelievable! In all those years I have never had a problem with anyone there! Very unprofessional! read more

My 15lb, 13yo dog has been a patient at Jumper Creek for several years and has been in good health. I recently opted to make an appointment to get his teeth cleaned due to his age, not due to any specific issue that he was having. I was aware that because of his age, undiagnosed tooth decay might be found during the cleaning/descaling. Dr. Yates was hired to do the job. He was Only to clean the teeth, nothing else. If problems were found during the procedure, I asked to be called before teeth were pulled. Sure enough, I got a call. A very loose tooth was found. I spoke with Dr. Yates directly, and he wanted to extract 13 teeth. I want my dog to be pain-free but he was eating dry food just fine and had no bleeding in the gums or redness. I was not convinced that 13 teeth needed to come out, and I knew that a dental specialist in Tampa might save some of the teeth. I told Dr. Yates to pull at most 3 of the worst teeth and leave the rest, and made plans to go to the specialist in Tampa asap. A couple of hours later I was paying the bill, not even realizing what had happened. The good Dr. had unilaterally decided to pull at least 12 teeth. There was no way to get a second opinion, no way to save a single tooth. They were gone. Pulled out despite my telling him to remove no more than three. Was it greed? Was it incompetence? Was it arrogance? Only he knows. Two stars because he didn't kill the dog. read more

I will not go anywhere else! We came to Jumper Creek vet clinic for a second opinion on a sickly dog we only had for 17 months. Before our follow up visit unfortunately we had an emergency and got in right away. Dr honey was very thorough took her time explained and prepared us for the worst. We chose surgery to see if there was a blockage, and Dr. Vic was kind enough to come in on his day off. Unfortunately what they had found was (to far gone w/) pythiosis, There was nothing to save the dog, and it turned out to be a sad day. I cannot exspress Upmost kindness and support the staff showed us. The staff placed Willie in a lovely box to take him home in. We also received sympathy cards from the staff and Dr. Honey. Very nice place with friendly staff and great mask compliance. I loved the great prices, zero wait time, and that every staff member felt caring and made me feel welcome. I brought my dog here after a recent move for her Rabies vaccination and heartworm testing; I'm glad I did! Also, there was no up-selling or unnecessary service recommendations like you'll deal with at some other chain veterinary clinics. Keep up the great service and never sell out to VCA. read more

I love how doctor Montgomery takes the time to sit and explain everything each time we've taken any or all 3 of our dogs, she doesn't just try to push the most expensive treatments but instead walks us through all the different options. Lady at the front desk is the nicest person I've met. Will definitely continue bringing our pups here, also will make an appointment for our mini pig and if the goats ever need something she's the vet I want to bring them to. I wish she could still do home visits for the larger animals but it's understandable that she can't. read more

Amazing clinic. I wouldn't trust my animals anywhere else! The staff is so kind and considerate when helping with my animals and are super accommodating. They really care about their clients and especially the animals. Very knowledgeable and reasonably priced. I'm always given multiple options for treatment of available to take cost in consideration, but their first priority is my pets. read more

I've been taking my dog here for the last 4 years as he is almost 5. They go above and beyond my expectations for a vets office. They are also very affordable and take care credit which is helpful for any emergency visits or surgeries that my pet may need. I live 45 minutes away and they are absolutely worth the drive. Walking into the office I always get a warm welcome. They are not in a rush to get my animals in and out of there. I have also boarded my dogs there while on vacation. This is the most unprofessional company I have ever dealt with. I took my dog to get shots and was charged for multiple things I did not ask for. I called the office and tried to figure out what was going on and received a call back from an employee named Mark. He then informed me that because I had issues that I was to no longer be seen in the office ( I'm assuming because I actually had valid issues). I trusted in this office because of the reviews themselves but was disappointed in the ability of the staff to keep the professional manner as well as to solve conflict! Dr. Yates is a long time practitioner and very competent veterinarian. After speaking with Dr. Yates and reviewing Vicki's file, her version of events differ drastically from our records. Dr. Yates stated to me that he had diagnosed her animal with several medical conditions and recommended followup diagnostics. Neoplasia was one of many differentials which could not be ruled out without further diagnostics. Dr Yates is the best veterinarian I have ever been too. His staff is very sweet and knowledgable and they always love on my puppy!

I brought my sick(diarrhea and vomiting) dog in on a Saturday morning and was told by TWO different office people that I would have to take her to an emergency vet because they were booked. If Dr. Yates had told me this after he had looked her over and told me that he was closing at noon and she needed fluids or watched then I would not be writing this. I run a office and our office staff knows exactly what our owners will allow or not allow therefore I must conclude that this Is Dr. Yates policy. Though I don't know how he balances this with the Veterinary oath he took. I am on my way to Sarasota now to meet a Personal friend that's a vet there that will meet me at her office. Needless to say I will be looking for a new vet. I am severely disappointed that this is necessary. read more
