Had breakfast here on a Monday morning and it was quite tasty. From the menu we ordered blue corn pancakes. Our server made sure to let us know that didn't mean blueberries were involved, that it was blue corn. We thought that was pretty funny as did she but apparently it must be mistaken quite often for them to let others know. The pancakes were amazing! Sure it had a side of good bacon and they arranged the bacon on mine and oranges on my girlfriends into smiling faces for entertainment but above it all, it was just really good. Once again, hopefully this is our very last visit to this restaurant. After an almost three hour hearing at the probate courthouse we were starving. So the family said, "Junction?" I rolled my eyes once again thinking - Please someone open another decent restaurant in the area! Party of eight apparently has to wait. We had to go to the pay counter to ask for someone to come at least take our drink order after sitting for 15 minutes. I don't know what it is about the customer service at this restaurant. One of our guests ordered a Chef Salad and after the first bite she said the lettuce tasted funny. Knowing how bad lettuce can give someone food poisoning we told her not to eat it. The waiter replaced it with a pizza. I asked the waiter if there was a pot of strong brewed coffee in the place. One can only wish. He brought me what he thought was strong. I guess one woman's jet fuel is another man's swamp water. So disappointed. read more

Overpriced with poor food quality. Flies are all over the place. Ordered the Chile burger and the seasoned fries. The fries were frozen and raw. The waitress returned it to the kitchen. It took another 20 minutes to have my order back. There's only 3 restaurants in this area so you have no better choice. On another occasion, I ordered the 12 piece fried chicken. The chicken tasted like it's been out of the fridge for a while, tasted nasty and yucky. Will never go back to this place. Dennis is a much better option or Thunderbird. read more

It was ok. Yes it is associated with a motel but a lot of folks eat there including locals. It is ordinary food but features Navajo touches to things. I had a taco salad which was more meat than salad. I was stuffed when done. My son had Posole which was both physically and spicy hot. He liked it. Good food and good prices. The staff was a little slow but not terrible. The food was very good. My wife had a Navajo Taco. She said it was good and the portion size was really big! My daughter had a hamburger and fries from the child's menu and she added bacon. They put on about 6 pieces of bacon, which was a lot more than I thought there would be. My son and I split a Pizza Hut pizza (there is a Pizza Hut Express as part of the restaurant). Nothing special here. It tasted like a Pizza Hut pizza. Overall it was good. It is dinner not a 5 Stars restaurant, don't understand these poor ratings. We had lunch here. Server was very nice. Our meals came pretty quick. Food was tasty, and not over priced. It is not much to choose from , in the area. It is good alternative for all the fast foods places that are around. We will come back to this restaurant if we visit Canyon De Chelly again. read more

Was kind of nervous to go here on my family's trip to Canyon de Chelly because of the low ratings, but I was very pleasantly surprised! For a restaurant attached to a hotel, it was pleasant. The waiters were so attentive despite the restaurant being at half capacity, checking in constantly, and we got our food in a timely manner. My family got the chicken fajitas, Mexican combo platter, and steak and enchiladas, and I got the patty melt. All very good, but I would say the chicken fajitas were the best or of our orders. Portions were large (except for the patty melt, which was reasonable!) so share if you have small stomachs. Overall, would go again if I find myself near this city again! read more

Really good food and superb service. Carletta was our waitress and took great care of us, but others would stop in and refill our ice tea. Great service. My friends and I came here after going to Canyon de Chelly, which is a couple of minutes from here. It's clean and the waiters are attentive. I got the Navajo Shredded Beef on fry bread with seasoned fries. The portions are large and I couldn't finish it. My friends got a quesadilla and the Navajo taco (which kind of looks like a pizza to be honest). Overall the food was tasty and fresh! I would come back to try some of their other options! read more

Nice place. Service was fast on a Saturday night. Not super busy but it is December. Good variety of food and Pizza hut available if you want. I had beef stew and fry bread was good. Others had taco salad which was ok. Another had Navajo taco which was really good. There are several choice or kinds of Navajo taco. Another had fish and chips which was good. For dessert one person had the banana split which was huge. Great place and sounds like only good choice for a regular restaurant (other than few fast food) in Chinle. Wonderful food! Our waitress was very good. Husband had lamb stew with fried bread and I had the fried bread with chili so good.

Charming atmosphere and mix of local pizza eaters and tourists looking for local dishes. We had the Navajo Fry Bread. The dishes were tasty and used fresh ingredients. Good value. A party of four from Albuquerque touring Canyon de Chelly, we enjoyed two excellent meals at the Junction. The staff continuously checked on us, and the meals were ample and delicious. I go to Chinle once a month on business. I've been to Junction twice. The first time I had roast beef. It was incredibly dry and was an unappetizing gray color. Not even gravy could save this puppy. The second time I had a Navajo sandwich. Same problem with the meat - really really dry. It was so disappointing since I'm tired of eating at Garcia's - the only decent restaurant in town. read more

Same food as Dennys or anywhere else in town. I've lived here for 2 years and always preferred this spot because it had better service, but it has gone downhill recently. Tonight the girl working up front named shavonna refused to take my order over the house phone as they normally do so I begrudgingly drove in and waited for my pizza. Unfortunately I overheard her take 2 more orders over the phone as I was waiting for my to go order. Continues to disappoint. Service was awful today. Our food came out at different times and 2 of the 5 guest we came with did not receive their orders. Asked for the manager but was told that she is out for the day, and that there was no one in charge. My refill was taken but did not receive it back until 20 minutes later. Tried to wave down the staff but we were ignored until it came to time to pay. Bill came with items we did not receive. Upon checking out I was asked "how was everything?" I told her what had happened and she said "you should have asked for me I'm the shift manager." Told her that we asked twice and were told you were out for the day. Well...if you're in Chinle, hopefully you know that you don't have many options. This place is right next to the Best Western and has some weird hybrid deal going on with a Pizza Hut - basically you can order a standard stock of pizza or get more "traditional" Navajo cuisine. My party of three all got the Sheepherder sandwich. It wasn't bad; I think like many others have noted, the fry bread is not all that great. It's not dense, but it's also not crunchy. Everything else was fine. Fries were pretty boring, and the pickle spear was pretty pathetic. Servers were really attentive for no apparent reason, almost to the point of being irritating. This place is sometimes rated as the best in the area. That tells you a lot about its completion--not that there is much. It can best be compared to a Denny's that has been around for over 15 years. Everything appeared to be clean. The service was fine and the atmosphere as just described. They do have some Navajo selections but they were all rather high carb and I need to watch the carbs to keep my blood sugar in the normal range without prescription drugs. So I ordered a lamb stew which had carrots, celery, and potatoes. I just didn't eat all the potatoes. The portion size was good. The lamb was ok but the broth was just tasteless. I don't know how they managed this. In part, I think, it was because they didn't include any onions or garlic in the mix. My husband had pulled pork barbecue. This came wrapped in a soft taco with lettuce and tomato plus French fries on the side. The pork had a mildly spicy tomato sauce that was good but could have had a bit more kick. The portion size was large. As usual, we didn't have any dessert, and I don't think there was anything very memorable on the menu. We were staying in the adjoining Best Western motel and that was the best reason for eating here. Check other reviews of the restaurant at the Holiday Inn Express. I think there is one review of a visit to the Canyon at comments favorably on that restaurant. You don't have to be cautious about drinking in the restaurant and then driving since this is in alcohol free Navajo territory. The prices were relatively low but the food doesn't demand a higher price. You won't go hungry but that is about the best I can say about the food. Mostly locals were eating here. The reviews of Garcia's at the Holiday Inn sound better than my experience here. If I had seen those reviews before my trip, I might have tried Garcia's. read more

large menu. lots of comfort food with huge portions. most menu options were heavy, fatty, and meaty. in fact, i believe there was only one non-meat thing on the menu and it wasn't something i could count on for any nutritious value. as a vegetarian, i compromised and got the pozole & pork soup and just ate around the pork. it was simple, spicy, and filling. of the two restaurants in chinle (aside from subway and pizza hut), i prefer this one over garcia's. however, the lesson here is, don't expect to eat well in chinle. if you're passing through and don't eat meat, you're probably better off going to the grocery store. read more

This diner/restaurant is on the Best Western hotel grounds so useful if you're staying there. Food is fair to good; beef stew is Navaho stew with either tortilla or frybread and is delicious. Not enough salad or vegetable meals on menu though....We had different people taking drink order, taking food order, bringing drinks, refilling water, taking away plates but no one brought the other table napkin we asked for! Watch out for double taxation -- Navaho and "national" or AZ sales tax. read more

Staying at the Best Western in Chinle and decided to eat at the Junction Restaurant (next door) - BIG mistake! My wife ordered the chicken quesadilla, I ordered the green chili cheese burger - both awful! My lemonade was like an over sweetened powder mix, the green chili was a whole slice and smelled awful! the fries were the worst I've ever had. All food looks and tastes like it was previously frozen or taken from a can - nothing fresh. Bland, tasteless like high school meals I used to pay fifty cents for. I've had better food at back yard hot dog cookouts. I can't believe I paid for this stuff. read more
