Our first time at Juniper located in Johnson City, TN. It's easy to miss the turn off as it's hidden by high grasses. I recommend the sign be placed a bit higher. The service was very good. I would bring a light sweater as it was a bit cool inside with the AC on. We enjoyed our cheese dumplings and fried green tomatoes appetizer. I tout the dumplings were going to be meat filled but they were still delicious. Not sure if they are worth $14 for two. My spouse had the steak frites with side salad. I had the buttermilk chicken with two small biscuits, bread and butter biscuits and honey butter. I took the small bottle of honey home. I would not order a side of fries next time - too much for me. The coconut cake made from scratch with custard cream was delicious. The pastry chef provided us with small lemon flavored donuts which we brought home. read more

Everything that I have ordered as well as for my wife have been hits from the steaks to chicken pot pie to pork tenderloin, you can't go wrong. Have visited a few times since moving to the area and would highly recommend. Is a little on the more expensive side, but the food, drinks, service worth it! Came here for our anniversary. Had reservations for 5:30 on Friday night. Showed up a couple minutes early and snagged the last parking spot. This place makes you feel special. We had a lovely table on the second floor. Appetizer: Chicken Pot Pie Croquettes are delicious two bite sized fried balls with a dollop of creamy goodness on top. These are so tasty. Snake River Farms American Wagyu Denver Steak is sliced thin and served with dipping sauce. They recommend it's best served rare. It was a bit too marbled for my liking. Next time I would get the Brasstown Beef Filet Mignon. Seared Diver Scallops: only two, though big and very good. Brussels Sprouts: best I've ever had! Dessert: Peach Pie Sundae. Is a deconstructed pie a'la mode. Black Pearl Cab Sav from South Africa. Server: Taylor is so friendly and helpful. She guided us through the menu. This is my mom's favorite restaurant. It is the best restaurant and most modern culinarily that I have been to in the tri cities. The Gnuddi and focaccia was amazing. The chicken was just meh, but the construction on the speciality fish dish was amazing and truly highlighted summer corn but the fish felt a bit like an after thought. It was so so good though. I normally don't like NY strip showered the quality of this was so amazing it was like a giant filet mignon. We had leftovers for another few meals as it came with 3 shareable sides. Every time I come here it has been an incredible experience. The atmosphere is so amazing. The cutest house with great background music and such a charming atmosphere. The staff was so kind and gave us amazing service. Our waitress Whitney was so fabulous and helped us make amazing food decisions. The food was incredible. This was our second or third time visiting Juniper and as usual, the food was amazing. I've been counting down the days till our dinner reservations and was looking forward to our dinner so much I forgot to take pictures this time. We treated my parents to dinner (this was their first visit here) and our only regret with the whole experience is that we didn't request to be seated on the first floor. We've never had dinner upstairs so we had no idea how loud it would be. The acoustics are not great when you're trying to hear the person across from you (though they do try with some sound dampening- it's just not enough). My dad wears hearing aids and it wasn't as enjoyable for him not being able to hear. We plan to bring our son for dinner here when he turns 18 in a few months because he's a foodie but he's deaf in one ear so we will definitely be sure to request the first floor. My husband got the ribeye (it's one of his favorites), three of us had the salmon (best salmon EVER), we also had the smoked oysters (my mom and dad didn't think they'd like them but I wish I would have captured my dad's surprised face when he took a bite- he loved them), focaccia (delicious), beet and chèvre salad (interesting but tantalizing flavors), Au Gratin potatoes (melt in your mouth incredible), Brussel sprouts (some of favorites but were a little too sweet this time), and we all tried several drinks (each were perfectly done). None of us had room for dessert as portions are generous (sides are large enough for two to share). This is still our favorite restaurant in the Tri-Cities area and we save date nights here for special occasions. Our bill for four meals, four sides, a salad, two appetizers, and six drinks came to $335.77. Worth every penny. read more
