Went to the one that was supposed to be in Pasadena convention center and it said from 9am-5pm I showed up at 3 pm along with many others and they had already picked up and left!! So unprofessional. Why say you're going to close at 5 if by 3 you don't even plan to be there anymore. I drove far as well and was extremely disappointed. read more

Had a great time at one of the JH events that I've been to multiple at this point! The quality of vendors at the College Station show was a bit better than the Rosenberg one. Headed to the next Rosenberg show in July and my favorite candle person will be there! #thepaisleyrobin read more

Such a great show! I don't agree with the other review at all. Strollers and carts are sometimes a pain but those people come to shop just like me. I can't complain! It's packed because they have awesome booths. We had a great time even with the grounds! I never leave empty handed! I bet the vendors love big crowds! I'll be back! read more

Attended my first Junk Hippy Market in Rosenberg this morning. It COULD have been a great time except for the fact that it was only for one day, so three days worth of people were there, and except for the outrageous number of wheeled carts, wagons, and strollers. There were so many people, we had to wait in line for 25 minutes to get in. Then once inside any of the 3 buildings, it was wall to wall people. We couldn't get into most of the booths and were literally tripping over, and getting run over by all the carts, wagons, and strollers. Experienced show promoters know to either ban anything on wheels, or to set aside a day for those moms with kids in strollers. Carts and wagons should ALWAYS be banned in a one day show with limited inside space to maneuver. Unfortunately, we will not attend again unless the promoter can make some changes....and it's too bad because I think it would really have been a good show otherwise. read more

ATM is on site as well as the Junk Hippy Stash area where shoppers can check their purchases at no cost, and keep shopping! Junk Hippy is your home for decor and design inspiration, for all the DIY lovers out there and anyone wanting those unique, funky pieces for their home! You'll find styles ranging from industrial and architectural salvage, bohemian and gypsy, eclectic vintage furniture, antiques, mantiques, shabby chic to French farmhouse! No direct sales or MLM. You don't want to miss this one!!

Junk Hippy is a grassroots, family-based business based out of Oklahoma City. Junk Hippy works to stay a step ahead by hand-choosing vendors who think outside the box. There are the pieces you may see on Pinterest, but also the things that haven't made it there yet. Junk Hippy was created and is operated by Kristen Grandi and her husband, Shawn. They are not franchised and never will be. When you come to a Junk Hippy event, know that you are a part of something authentic, original, and inspirational. There are no direct sales or party-based businesses at Junk Hippy, everything falls into vintage or handmade.

Meet the Business Owner: Kristen G.

Junk Hippy was created after years of waiting for the stars to align, planning and creating from scratch. Kristen Grandi officially created Junk Hippy March of 2012 and never looked back. Kristen was a vendor herself before JH, dragging her painted furniture and rescued vintage treasures to shows around Oklahoma City and decided that was not her vibe, she knew there was a place for her beloved vintage JUNK. One phone call to the Oklahoma State Fairgrounds, in one of those "taking a step when you can't see the staircase" moments and Junk Hippy was officially in motion. Since then, this eclectic traveling vintage event has held shows all over Oklahoma and Texas, and was recently named by Country Living Magazine as one the Top 7 Vintage Sales for 2015! Junk Hippy prides themselves on staying a step ahead and always raising the bar higher, as well as their "family" that has emerged from their vendors. The atmosphere at JH is not like you'll find at any other shows.

When I Googled it, opening time was 9am. Let's go at 9am! This Houston Flea Market was interesting. Some vendors were open; some were setting up; and most stalls were closed. At least parking and admission were free! Lisa wasn't able to bargain for some toys for her clients. That lady was strict. She went to another vendor and got some other plushie keychains that are reversible - happy and sad emotions... Cute! I found a woman who spoke English well. I liked her because she was sweeping outside her stall and we had eye contact as she greeted me. I saw a cute purse and asked the price. She wanted $12 for the Frida Kahlo purse. I offered $20 for two purses and got them! I was really happy! I would go back again for another adventure! I saw some handmade items from Mexico - like hats, boots, clothing, and coin purses. Cool!

Instead, you have to sign up in person (given very little notice), pay with cash before receiving a hand-written receipt, and have your info sheet added to a giant, messy appearing binder. This organizational method has routinely caused many issues, including double booking same-type vendors and losing track of cancellations/communication with vendors. We have attended 14 of the last 15 Katy Market Days as a well-loved vendor of fresh-squeezed lemonade, kettle corn, and shaved ice. Our first 6 or so events with Katy Market Days ran smooth with very little interaction with Betsy and Harry Proctor, the owners of The Limited Edition Art and Antiques and coordinators of Katy Market Day. As the months progressed, more issues appeared, including multiple lemonade, kettle corn, and shaved iced vendors attending the market, despite reassurance this wouldn't happen. We were always met with excuses such as, "a new girl let the other vendors book". The market this past Saturday started with a duplicate shaved ice truck parked directly across from our booth. Harry, Betsy's husband, handled the situation with respect and professionalism. He apologized for the double booking and offered a refund for this month's market. His attitude and demeanor was much appreciated in the midst of a frustrating situation for both vendors. Shortly after, a large, white food truck pulled directly in front of our booth and parked, hiding us from view of customers. My husband asked Betsy if the truck was going to stay, as it was an unusual spot and there was plenty of other options. My husband walked back to our booth and Betsy chased him down and began YELLING that the "truck is not moving" and we are "more trouble than we're worth". This outburst made the vendors surrounding us and the customers in my line visibly uncomfortable. Unfortunately, this display was not out of character for Betsy as we've witnessed numerous verbal disputes and disproportionate negative reactions toward other vendors over the course of our time. We've seen Betsy run after and scream at another vendor leaving the event early. Betsy routinely speaks abruptly and disrespectful toward vendors while signing up. In our early days of attending KMD, she even refused to let me and my young son use the restroom in her store while I was heavily pregnant and in dire need. Sometimes making an exception to a rule is necessary and compassionate. You'll hear numerous similar stories from most every vendor. Katy Market Day has the potential to be an excellent monthly event for the community but sadly falls short due to ineffective, unprofessional, and callous management.

Between my grandfather and I, we had six watches needing repair. Did my research and wanted to support small business. Found this shop. Called to ensure he would be open if the current pandemic situation. Answers the phone with simply "hello". Is this the Watchmaker Specialist?", I ask. "Yes." I then asked if he would be open the next day to drop by with the watches for repair. "No problem. I will be here" he responds. "Excellent. See you tomorrow." Today (the next day), I picked up my 89-year old grandfather to drive 25 miles to his shop. Arrive to the office building, then had to had to show my driver's license to a security guard. It has to be shown to a video camera where they take a picture of your license. Was not crazy about that given identity fraud. But had to do it to gain access to the building. Made our way up to the 7th floor, found the suite, only to find the office locked. Sign on door says call the number. So I do this and again, simply "hello". I let him know we were standing at the front door. "Who's this?", he asks. "A customer" i replied. "Oh, I am not there. I went to get some dinner. Can you wait 30 or 45 minutes?"........ So he wanted my grandfather and I to simply hang out and wait for him. Not very good customer service especially after I called beforehand to verify it was good to come down at that time. Which it was. But he left us in the lurch. We went someplace else. Was not a goid customer service experience.
