I highly recommend Junk King (Fairfax) for your junk removal job. A crew of three (Marcus and two others) showed up to our home to remove 8 large, heavy, bulky items from our basement. To complicate matters the only access to and from the basement is our "kickback"/"switchback" stairwell. These are the stairs that go up 6/7 steps, come to a landing, switch direction, and then go up an additional 6/7 steps. In less than 90 minutes all 8 items were out of our basement and loaded onto their truck. Junk King got us out of quite a bind as just the morning before, the original company we had contracted with (local junk removal company here in Purcellville, VA) sent out a crew of two who left without taking out a single item. We were quite irate with the lack of competence and preparedness of this original company. I had even done my due diligence and had the President/owner of the original company come out to see the scope of the job first hand earlier this month. The owner assured us it was a job they would be able to do. Unfortunately within less than a minute of the two man crew (from the original company) arriving and seeing the items and stairwell, the Crew Leader commented on the bulk and heft of the items. Upon ME suggesting some pieces may require being taken apart, dismantled or even destroyed the crew lead responded by informing me he did not have tools on the truck to do the job. The two man crew left without a single attempt of removing anything. The Junk King crew informed me of their ETA on our scheduled day and communicated throughout their travel to our location to let us know they were delayed. Once the three man crew arrived, each introduced himself to me and we quickly went to the basement to asses the job. They provided me the quote, I accepted the quote, and they immediately got to work. Junk King was able to remove all items, some requiring a minimal amount of dismantling with tools THEY brought (nothing more needed than their own two hands, wrenches, and screwdrivers). Within 90 minutes of them pulling into our driveway our items were up, out of our house, loaded onto their truck, and they were pulling out of our driveway with a job exceptionally well done. Not once did they utter any doubt that any of the items would be unable to be removed. I was so impressed with their level of communication with each other throughout the process. They were, hard working, up beat and positive during their time here. Junk King is a 5 out of 5 for us. We try to support local but this time got burned. So thankful for Junk King. For reference they removed the corner piece and main section of our sectional sofa (that main piece alone sat no less than three people-it was big), pool table, exercise bike, ping pong table, foosball table, rocker recliner and old version very heavy and bulky big screen TV (thank goodness they don't make them like that anymore). The Junk King crew managed all of them through and out of our ominous "kickback"/"switchback" staircase. They even brought the TV up INTACT. True professionals!! read more

Amazing service!! Guys came out on time. The estimate online was the same amount I paid. I needed a full truck, as expected. The two gentlemen were awesome. They took care of the inside items first so they would not track in dirt from outside. I had a lot of heavy stuff. They were careful not to scratch walls and made sure I inspected that all items were taken away that we had discussed before I paid. The guys took: an oversize couch, love seat, and chair set, 2 recliners, a HUGE old large screen tv, large old box tv, twin mattress, box spring, frame, barbed wire, a table, metal debris, old generator, various yard items, miscellaneous trash. I hired Junk King for a recent junk removal job. I was quoted a price for a full truck and agreed to the price. About 2/3 of the way through the job, they told me that they couldn't get everything in one trip and that they would return for the remainder in a few days. The truck was not full when they left. When they returned for the remainder of the junk, I was contacted to pay for another 1/2 truck. After I complained, they reduced the price for 1/3 of a truck. At no time during the initial job did the Junk King rep mention that there would be an additional charge for returning to pick up the materials that I had already paid them to remove. I had previously used Junk King and was previously happy with their service. I will not use them again. If you are considering using them, make absolutely sure that they take everything that they quoted in the price estimate. I highly recommend. I sent an email to get an estimate and potentially book an appointment at 10pm the night before. At 9:05am the next morning I had a call to provide an estimate and was able to confirm an appointment for 4-6pm same day. The office person was helpful but couldn't 100% confirm the estimate and said they normally do in person, but if I wanted, she would have the driver call me and give me a better idea. One of the workers (Julian) called less than 10 minutes later and provided me with a estimate. He also asked, since I was home, if I wanted them to come earlier, or did I want the original time. I took earlier. Antoine (I believe) and Julian called 15 minutes before arriving (as promised), came right in and got to work removing my sofa sleeper, some old computers and an old mirror. The estimate was the lower one. They also gave me a coupon should I want to use their services in the future. It was all done in less than 20 minutes, and I could pay by credit card via a cc machine versus handing over lots of information (if that matters to you), or I could have paid by cash or check. I am so glad I found these guys online last night. Just as the other reviewer noted, they were honest and super polite (kept calling me Ms. and my last name, introduced themselves, shook my hand, etc.). I scheduled an appointment on Friday afternoon for the following Saturday morning. If you schedule the appointment online, you get a $20 discount. Like most of the other reviews said, the company tends to arrive earlier than scheduled. I received a text message asking if it was OK for them to arrive at 9:30 (the window I scheduled was 10 am to noon). I was more than happy to have them come earlier. The two employees were very courteous and very careful when removing a large old couch and arm chair from the house. Moving an 8 foot long couch is not easy, but they did it without bumping walls.
