On 4/5 the company came and gave an in home estimate on the cost after inspecting the items we wanted hauled away. An appointment was made for actual pick up on 4/20. When the driver arrived he tried to raise the price and additional $100 even though the items for pick up had not changed. Was finally able to agree on an additional $20. In addition, the movers managed to leave a fair size gouge in the wall. I am not sure what the point of having an in home estimate is if the price is not got to be honored. read more

Unfortunately it is hard to rate a company for their service when they just didn't show up. This is exactly the experience we had with this group of folks. We called, we set up an appointment, with a window between 3 and 5 PM. We waited, we called and we were informed that we were on the schedule, however they were unable to contact their Fort Lauderdale Office. Long story short, they never showed up, and we will never call them again. We spent a good part of our valuable time calling and waiting on them. We decried to call a competitor, and they showed up the next morning at the designated time and hauled off our unwanted furniture, and guess what? We had the furniture for about 60 dollars less than we were quoted by Junk King. Not a very good experience. read more

Moving across country and needed some furniture gone...it's too old and worn to keep at this point. So, I scheduled Junk King three weeks ahead of my move. They quoted a good price ($128) for a sleeper sofa and a loveseat. They had ALL of this information from the beginning. Twenty minutes before they were going to arrive, they called and said that the two people who quoted my price were wrong and they were going to add $158 to the quote. And, because it was only a quote, they didn't have to honor it. Because I am literally moving in two days, with movers arriving tomorrow, I thought that I had to go with them (again, because I'd scheduled them so long ago). Then, the packers offered to help for the original price quoted. So, Junk King lost all the money and any referrals, and the packers earned some extra cash. Basically, they will NOT honor quotes made in error when it is their fault. Unreliable and poor business practice. They should have honored the quote and then re-trained their staff. read more
