Junk Pros is awesome! I had a very large and heavy broken organ that I needed removed from the second floor of my home. Some other companies passed on the job and others had very high quotes. Julio responded to my inquiry very quickly, quoted a fair price, and was able to schedule me in right away. A few days later (due to my schedule, not theirs, as they offered to come sooner) the guys arrived right on time (a few minutes early actually), with great communication, and made sure the job was done without one scratch to my home. In this review, I will assume that the bully I talked to on the phone was Julio the owner. I called yesterday and said I needed a bed, spring mattress, and an ironing board to be hauled away. Now Julio, or whoever was on the phone, will claim I only said "ironing board" on the phone, but who pays $99 to haul a simple ironing board?? Anyway, this is not even the main issue here, more on that later... The haulers came. The crew was surprised to see my bed and said they were told to only take the ironing board away. They said they did not even have space for them. I sent them away. Then the owner called me and condescendingly called my character into question (His condescension seems to be well documented in Yelp, assuming he was the same guy), saying that I only mentioned "ironing board" on the phone. Julio quickly commenced into insulting me by saying things like "what kind of a person does what you did." I am not going to go into who said what (even though I clearly remember mentioning the bed and mattress), but just the mean spirit of this person towards his customers is something nobody should endure. That should be your main take away from this review. Thankfully, I was able to interrupt his rage-filled trance about spending gas, time, etc. by asking, "What do you suggest we do?" He said he would all do it for $200 (Don't you see a pattern of "upping the price" once they arrive?), supposedly a discount down from $225. I agreed since I wanted it all gone right away. So they came in and hauled them for $200. One bed, spring mattress, one ironing board, and some irons hauled away for $200. You be the judge of the price, I am surely not an expert. Don't expect to get anything meaningful hauled away for under $100 with this company (Even though their prices start under $100 as they proudly claim). These guys are quick to call you a liar and will run up the price on you. If there is a misunderstanding with the customer, do you call their character into question, or do you try to solve the problem calmly in a civilized manner? The bad thing about lashing out at your customers with a mean spirit is that you will get a single star at Yelp every now and then, get a call from that local TV Finney guy, or a letter from BBB. This is the price of assuming the absolute worst in your customers (the assumption being they are trying to trick you); you end up bringing out the worst in them in return. Before you reply with "Is this the thanks I get for a discount?", or "We tried to accommodate your needs, sorry to hear...", I think the readers of this review and I deserve simple answers to the following questions: 1. What kind of a person treats their customer with rage and insult? 2. Have you ever considered anger management courses? Respectfully, E. Final update for the owner's reply: The owner has pretty much proved my point that he assumes the absolute worst in his customers just because he was scammed in the past and will bully them in the first sign of an issue. We all know that scammers exist out there. But they surely do not end up paying twice their original quote and do not continue talking while the other person on the phone is shouting in rage instead of simply hanging up and trying to scam someone else. That would make quite a conscientious scammer! Why did I say "What do you suggest we do?" if the treatment were that horrible? (And believe me, it was) Because I wanted my stuff gone, and the haulers had already come, so I wanted to listen to what the owner had to say to find a solution rather than being part of an unproductive shouting match. The haulers came to do their job and had nothing to do with this issue, and like I said before, the price here is NOT the point. Before I leave this issue to rest, I leave it to the reader to decide on the owner's self-righteous and accusatory arrogance that comes through in his reply and in other customers' reviews in Yelp (e.g. "How can this guy sleep at night knowing this is how he treats his customers?") read more

Two men, in two hours, filled the truck with lots of large unwanted furniture and drove off, leaving us breathing a huge sigh of relief. They were courteous, professional and quick. I hired Junk Pros to clean out a bunch of furniture from my brother's condo, in preparation for new carpet and furniture coming. Julio was very enthusiastic and informative on my initial phone call. He answered all my questions and was able to schedule the pick up for the day I requested. When the team came they were professional and easy to work with. They had even called when they were on the way to give me a heads up on what time they would arrive. My brother is disabled, and the guys were very respectful and friendly toward him, which I really appreciated. They worked quickly and efficiently. They had to carry some furniture down the stairs in the condo, and they did it without damaging the newly painted walls. The team was able to get it all done in about an hour! I was so impressed with this company and its employees. I downsized and had furniture and other large misc items that I needed to get rid of. If you want to waste your whole day waiting for them to show up then by all means call. I set up an appointment at 12pm and initially there was such a hard time as I was playing phone tag with the guy to set it up. Once I had it set up and the day finally came, they never showed up. I had wanted to get lab work done for my doctor and never could. I called and they said it would be 2:30pm, still no one showed up. I called again a bit before 3pm and they said it would be a half an hour and they did not show up til after 4pm. I do not believe that this company has fair competitive prices. We even have a coupon and they wanted almost $260 on the original quote. While their coupon card starts at $84! We had a love seat some boxes of packing paper and empty broken down boxes and couple other small items. They guy told my husband that just a couch starts at $84. And that he quotes high/over. We had probably less than 1/4 truck load of their trucks if that. When my husband said "no" thank you, they left and came back about 10 minutes later and re-quoted $215. Really! No thank you! Started off well. They called to say they'd be a little late and gave an eta. I went to the storage unit and waited. They didn't show for over an hour and then claimed truck broke down. They could have called. Next estimated 1/2 truck Load and said would pack tight and adjust if less. Next issue was surcharge for mattresses. They wanted $25 each for 5 single bed mattresses. I objected and said I'd try another hauler. Driver called his "boss" for better deal then put me on the phone with him. He said the dump charged h $35 per so he was giving a deal. He also offered to deduct $ 25. This was a lie because the waste management website lists $19 for single mattress ( which I didn't know at the time). He then quoted a flat $400, down from the original $497. I agreed because I didn't have time to start over. The load turned out to be between 1/4 & 1/3 not 1/2 so I was still overcharged. read more

So disappointed. I had a few pieces of furniture that Salvation Army had no room for and DH said I had to get rid of NOW. So my mom gave me a coupon for these guys. The thing I liked about their website was how they said they'd recycle everything they could, and the furniture I had was in decent condition, so I went for it. The guy I spoke to gave me a rough estimate, based on my description of approx 4 cubic meters, and said it would most likely be $99 for a 1/4 load. We made an appointment for noon the next day. I had to call when they were 20 minutes late, only to be told that they had my appointment at 1:00. Ok, cancel lunch plans. Then they called to say they'd be an additional half hour later because of their lunch. Ok. Then when they came, the driver showed me this elaborate pricing schedule that didn't reflect what the man on the phone told me. My $99 1/4 load was now a $215 1/6 load that didn't apply to the coupon. We negotiated a bit more but the final nail in the coffin was, as they were loading the items in to the truck, they started just smashing furniture in the street to make it fit. So much for donating!!! I told the dispatcher guy I had a bed and armoire, but they sent an almost full truck. They literally kicked the doors off the armoire, kicked out the back and smashed the sides. They did clean the splintered remains off the street, and if I'd taken the pieces to the dump their fate would have been the same, but it still didn't seem to go with their philosophy of trying to donate usable pieces. read more

I've used Junk Pro twice and will use them again. 1st visit they were running late but called multiple times to let know their eta. Very nice because you're not standing around wondering if they'll show. 2nd visit they were on time and still called ahead. They did a great job of loading the junk and cleaning up the area, not leaving a trace that there had been any trash there. After a clean up of the garge, I had a load of junk that needed to be discarded. I called Junk Kings (previously used them) - but they were not open on Sunday. Ran across this company on the internet and gave them a try. I needed an apt at 1:30 and specifically mentioned 2PM was too late. They called at 1:15 to say they would be there at 2PM. I cancelled -and wasn't happy. The company called me back and asked to rescheduled. I like the initiative - so I scheduled for Monday morning. Items were picked up properly with area swept. Price was reasonable and in line with what I expected (based on previouls junk hauls). They also took a large box of e-waste that had been collected over years - a box that no other company would take. This was picked up at no additional charge. Great service. Huge dumpster with a rear door that swings open. A couple of pieces of plywood for a ramp and I was able to easily dump wheelbarrow loads into it. Was delivered right away and picked up when I texted. They even drained rain water so I wouldn't be charged for it. read more

This was my second time using Junk Pros. I called them in the early afternoon to see if they could pick up a double dresser later that day. To my surprise, they said they could squeeze me in as their last stop! They were running a little late, but called me to tell me so, which was no problem. They arrived on time and couldn't have been nicer. I was concerned about them possibly scratching the walls, as the dresser was rather large and my stairs a little awkward, but they are pros (just like their name) and didn't scratch anything. I hate to write bad reviews and I never do but in my case I had too. I reached out to Junk Pros as a landlord looking to get an apartment emptied. I called Junk Pros on a Tuesday for a Saturday 2pm appointment. They called to confirm on Friday and never showed up on a Saturday. When I called them the person taking the call took down my info and said he would have the drivers get back to me. No one ever did. When I asked him was my name on the list he said their system doesn't work that way that he cannot see the names on the list. I had to call Junk Done Right, they had a guy in the area and the job was done the next day. I had a great experience with Junk Pros. These guys are hands-down the best hauling company in the Bay Area. They called 30 minutes before they were scheduled to show up, and let me know they were on their way. The truck and two sturdy guys showed up right on time. They eyeballed the place, and gave me a quote. At the end of the day, the final charge was exactly what they quoted before they began.
