Nick is a god-send!!! My son had to move out of his apartment recently and Nick hauled all his stuff and also made trips to the dump to make sure he was moved out by the deadline. At the last minute, one of the roommates decided to leave a lot of JUNK behind, including a queen mattress and box spring set...and I needed them out quickly, as the landlord was upset and would have severely docked my security deposit to pay for last minute hauling. The best hauling experience I'd had. Efficient, fast, excellent communication, and gave me a discount when they learned the green waste dump closed earlier than usual, so the pick-up had a to wait a day. We recently hired Nick to clear out our garage - it was an accumulation of things over the past 25 years and I was so happy to find out that he not only hauled our junk away but offered services such as going through the garage to help sort through the clutter at a reasonable rate. Nick is fantastic to work with and really knows his stuff. He will distribute what needs recycling, compost, landfill and is willing travel to different local locations to get his clients the best possible rates for disposal. We are currently doing a renovation and had been using Republic Trash Services who are always late and super overpriced for the service they deliver. We are of course running over budget and behind schedule and Nick was very accommodating with his rates. We were also trying to get the yard cleaned ahead of family visiting from out of town and Nick came immediately and worked late into the night under flood lights to get the job done. Someone in my neighborhood recommended Junkcat for hauling away a lot of yard debris and some large, miscellaneous items (mattresses and an old, broken exercise machine). I was able to get a fast, friendly, and accurate estimate over the phone, and they arrived a few hours later, on time, and removed everything. The two workers (Tim and Sean) were extremely friendly and consulted me throughout to be sure that they were thorough. They wore face masks the whole time. Amazon told me my new bed was out for delivery, so I got serious about getting rid of my old one in the next couple days. Nick picked up the phone on a Sunday morning, gave the quote no hassle, and then gave advice about how much the alternatives would cost. I took the trouble of looking into truck rentals and such myself--the other junk place that got back to me so quick was the same rate--and for my purposes of having to haul the bed between cities I'd have had to figure that my time and labor was worth about $15 an hour to want to do it all myself. He was out here less than half an hour after I gave him the address, although of course he couldn't always promise that. He was very efficient and accommodating at the time of pick up, even being very considerate of the other people on my street. The only option that I have thought of for getting rid of a bed more efficiently, all told, is if I just wanted to send it to the dump with the trash man. For myself, I had begun with the intention to recycle it and I didn't want to say the price of that intention was too low. If you try not to contribute unnecessarily to landfill, I recommend JunkCat as an efficient option for being green with your faithful old junk, as well as for being an efficient, caring, and personable service. read more
