We have been going to Val's forever, she works so hard to come up with the best deals on everything from vintage clothing, one of a kind architectural furnishings...old hats...I bought my sheleigheigh there...many rings broaches old coats art works. Really cool stuff...and sometimes we go just to see her. Because we love her. She has become more than her title..she is a friend to us and hundreds of people. And she cares. And when I hear someone being crappy to her...which is way too often with the superior humans these days. They better watch out. We protect and care for our friend. My plan was to get out of Dallas today to explore some vintage in Fort Worth . Of course I used Yelp ! I love the "junker kitschy " outside of the shop . I walked in and was greeted immediately by Val. She was bubbly and ready to help . This shop is not large , but it only took me 15 mins to find something I loved ! Val and her counterpart assisted me the entire way through . Most of the pieces are super unique , which always thrills me in a shop . I ended up leaving with a beautiful kimono robe , a sapphire ring , and a elaborate belt under $60. I will definitely visit again ! Wonderful experience ! read more

Val is such a character, and she knows her junk! Everything in this little rummage shop is for sale, and she has a little of everything. Last time I was here, I fell in love with a little white, beaded vintage bag and Val sold it to me for only five smackeroonies. Doll hairs. Washingtons. Five bucks for a lil bag that, when paired with some scuffed Keds and a polka dot dress, makes me feel like a million (or like my girl T-Swizzle!). My favorite thing in here is the back room, which is where you'll find the vintage pillbox hats, silk scarves, sequined dresses and aforementioned little, beaded bags. Try on whatever, make some kissy faces at the mirror, dance along to the KXT (whaddup, local music?!) she plays on the radio, take some selfies. Make an outing of your trip to Junkerval. Service is solid, which is good, since only Val is the one with the authority to name any numbers, and there are no price tags on the heaps of junk. Make sure to give Beckett The Wonder Dog some well-deserved head scratches when you stop by-- he's such a good pup, and Val clearly loves him so. read more

I was recently at Junker Vals shopping with my BFF from outta town, Val was extremely RUDE to me from the get go! I didn't even make it through the door before her cutting remarks started to fly towards me, I didn't say anything because it was my BFF'S favorite place to shop. We had to make an appointment to go in so you would think that she would want my business AND my money but it was very obvious she took an instant dislike to me. I asked the price on 3 items and she was completely out of the park over priced like she didn't want my business at all, since this is a "Junk store" NOT "Treasures and VALuables" hahaha and finally just said I'm happy to spend my money else where This was our 1st stop of the day, I had set aside $500 to spend and told her I was not a compulsive shopper and she said "I already no that" ( like she knows me lol) I'd like to thank her because my BFF and I hit up about 5 more places after we left her and I spent my allotted money at other stores. The point of my review is you should never judge a book by its cover. I will never go back EVER and I'm pretty sure she lost my best friends business as well. In this day and time kindness and a smidge of customer service goes a long way especially if your in business for yourself. You should really think about that Val, I've never given a bad review in my life but was so completely appalled by your rudeness! may your business prosper Val despite your ugly behavior. read more

JunkerVal is a very personal store, so perhaps your reaction reflects on your own personality. If you are afraid to engage, or can't afford regular visits --maybe if you're not a Southerner used to "visiting"-- then this will seem disorganized and you're not for Val. If you're treasure hunters who also enjoy a shopowner who'll look for something you want, then Val is your gal. This store separates the trainees from the pros, lol. This is probably the best antique store that I've been to in Fort Worth so far since I've moved here. My brother and I enjoy looking at antique malls and stores but there has never been one like JunkerVals. To begin with JunkerVal takes as much precautions as possible for both the customer and herself in terms of Covid-19, which is immensely appreciated. She also posts frequently on her pages the items she has and will work with anyone on a personal basis. All of her items are so unique i can spen md so much time looking through them. My girlfriend and I popped in the other day on a whim and we were very delighted with this little shop. Great location right on the university traffic circle. I've been to most every single little antique and oddity shop in Fort Worth and this has got to be the most WELCOMING and interesting spot. Interesting bits and baubles line the walls of this place. Great folk art to flip through and everything is for sale. We jumped into the great button collection she had and i flipped through some vintage western wear hung in the back. This is a cute antique store, and is sure to be loved by those that enjoy digging for finds. You will want to bring plenty of time with you as there is a ton of things to look through (lots of old costume jewelry, clothes and the like) and also be sure to bring cash as they do not except credit cards. I unfortunately didn't know this fact, so I wasted my time and missed out on taking my found treasures home, as I had cash but was short by a few cents, alas! I understand the store being all about the antiques, but they may want to consider getting modern with the methods of payment accepted. read more
