We booked a private half day rental with a guide - Captain Joe. My son wanted to fish, I wanted to collect shells, and my husband wanted to relax. We got to do a little of everything while enjoying Joe's stories about Jupiter Island. Having grown up here, he was very knowledgable about the area & even gave us tips on what to do for the rest of our stay. The only negative would be the price. While we did get a $50 discount for booking an early morning slot, this was still pricey. read more

Let me start out by saying that Jupiter Inlet Boat Rentals has treated me wonderfully from my very first telephone inquiry and then all the way through the process of becoming a year round member. June works in the office and she's first class tending to every detail of all business arrangements and sharing all the details one must consider to plan a successful outing on the water. Furthermore, I have enjoyed the boats and the courteous service on every trip since I joined (12 trips over the last 8 weeks). I'm a fisherman, born and raised in Palm Beach County, but never, before joining at JIBR, had learned how to pilot a boat. Once I joined up, they arranged for my first lesson (which I paid for separately) with a local Marine Sheriff's officer. After that I've been running my own fishing trips and it's been a life long dream come true. I've fished 4 different center consoles in their fleet and I've had great experiences on each one. The boats are clean and maintained well. All have livewells, radios, and depth finders. A couple have outriggers for those who like to troll. The dock hands are courteous, professional, and very knowledgeable about local fishing. They treat me great every time I am leaving or returning with a boat. Sooooo... first off this is a small business and they charge a $600 deposit in case you wreck the boat (which is 2 times more than I paid for a rental car to drive 1000 miles) and the boats are not equipped with any type of gps or any up to date technology. Brought the boat back at the end of the trip just to realize my debit card was charged twice for the deposit at the amount of $1200. They refunded the first $600 and refunded the second $600 but now I have to wait who knows how long to receive my other $600 back. On the phone with the boating company who is clueless and on the phone with my bank for hours trying to get this settled just to be told I have to wait for my money back. Absolutely ridiculous and a massive waste of time. This company has to do better!!! Seems like they are running off the bare minimum. read more

This is a great boat rental place. Everyone there were all wearing masks and it was all very safe. The rental experience was very easy, and all the staff were very nice. All of their boats are in good condition, and ours was great besides some wear on the seats. However, that's understandable considering it's a rental boat being used daily. I have found that the boats at Inlet Boat rentals to be clean and dependable. I also find the manager "June" to be exellent in getting us into the boats best suited for our trip. The roomy comfortable deck boats are our favorites. The fact that June makes sure our kids get safety vests that are the right type and size and that we are "checked out" on the boats before we leave the dock that gives us the peace of mind we need to enjoy our trip. Rented a deck boat recently for the holiday weekend and had a horrible experience. June was incredibly rude and disrespectful - a flat out bully. I had called a few weeks in advance and had reserved a boat from 1 - 5PM. June asked if our driver had boating experience and I said yes. When we got there and our driver filled out the paperwork he was referred over to June who said she was not comfortable with his level over boating experience. She proceeded to grill him about his level of experience and eventually said if he was driving she was not renting to us and would not be refunding us. We were upset, and while I do not agree with her decision (he has driven us before), I understand her not feeling comfortable renting as our 35 year-old driver did not inspire much confidence in his ability, but that's not why I am giving this place 1 star. When asked if anyone else in our party had boating experience, 4 people in our party said they had boating licenses (1 from CT, 1 from Jersey, and 2 from FL), however they initially were not planning on driving the boat so 3 of them did not think to bring their license. June said that she would not be renting to us or offering a refund, however; we would be able to take the boat out if one of them could take a temporary boaters exam. One of the people in our party volunteered to take the exam, but asked June "how long will the exam take" to which June rudely responded "as long as it takes you". Eventually someone in our party who was not planning on driving said that she had her boating license on her and June took her to the back to file her paperwork. OK fine, we're finally ready to get out on the water with someone behind the wheel who owns a boat is experienced, and has a physical boaters license...not so fast. When we come out June instructs our friend that she needs to take the boat for a test drive and show the deckhands that she is capable of driving the boat (they were equally confused by this when they asked if we were boarding and had to explain to them what was going on). Finally 15 - 20 minutes later she returns and we're able to board. By the end of the ordeal we had already wasted 40 minutes of our 4 hour time. We spent 20 minutes being chastised by June and another 20 waiting for our licensed, experienced friend to take the boat for a practice run. I understand the need for safety and the liability involved, but the amount of disrespect and rudeness shown is unacceptable; this is especially true considering Jupiter Inlet is one of the more costly boat rental establishments in the area. I would not repeat business here or recommend to anybody. For what it's worth the boat ran well and everybody else was professional and helpful. read more

Spoke to June to setup a half day rental. All went smooth and the boats are newer and in great shape. Gas not included-we spent $47 on our half day rental but we went easy on boat. TIP: go at 8:30a M-F and get $50 off rental. Captain: ask captain Joe - he is very knowledgeable about the history of the area. read more

We had an amazing experience here renting a captained boat for 1/2 a day. We gave June very short notice that we were hoping to get out on the water. She worked very hard calling around to find an available captain and boy, did she find one! We were fortunate enough to have Captain Joe take us around the Jupiter Sound giving a very entertaining history of the area and residents. We were able to play around on a sandbar we had nearly to ourselves and saw so many fishes and marine life. It was an absolutely unforgettable experience and we cannot wait to get back there and maybe take a trip on Captain Joe's pirate ship, Thee Molly Roger, too next time! When we arrived we got the exact boat listed on their web page. We had 12 people and I was concerned the boat would be too small but it was perfect. We rented a 24' deck boat for my daughter's Sweet 16 snorkeling party. From the moment we arrived at the dock, June made us feel welcome and was super helpful. The boats are fine (as in they drive) but are not in great shape (ours had torn seats and didn't appear particularly clean). The experience with the staff (specifically June) is absolutely miserable. She was already yelling at us as we were approaching the office, at which point we spent 45 minutes checking in. Pulling teeth to get life jackets for the kids. Paperwork galore (you'd think they could pull the docs from prior years or send them in advance / allow you to fill them out online)? Followed by a patronizing discussion where she grilled us on our boating experience, while peppering it with attempts at trick questions (is this a strategy to deny us and steal the deposit?). I understand wanting to screen people to ensure your fleet is in good hands. But we told her we own two boats that we've logged hundreds of hours on and have a boating license, but that apparently holds no weight. Then she claims that speedometers don't work in salt water. Wait, who is the one who doesn't know about boats? Or is she hoping we are too dumb to realize that the boat is not in good shape? The experience ruined the mood of the day. It is just exhausting and painful to deal with June. There are other places to go and we will do so next time. read more

This was our second time renting from JBR- first time 12/14 (center console) second time 2/15 (2014 dual console Cobia). yes I agree w JD about the excessive push to rent a deck boat even tho we stated we wanted to fish and wanted a center console. We experienced the same engine/fuel problem but knew ourselves how to resolve and the same broken ladder. for our first experience the small office was crowded and our children were asked to wait outside and yes that did upset us. Our second most recent experience we met June, she was just lovely. welcoming us into the office, explaining the charts and enacting with the 4 children in our party. we had an awesome day. we saw lots of dolphins, manatees , pelicans and the children got to run around on the sand bar. overall we would recommend renting from JBR - can't really think of a better way to spend the day with the family- we loved the cobia and we'lll be back. read more

My husband and I are clueless when it comes to boating, but as seasonal residents we wanted to learn how to drive a boat. June suggested a boat lesson which we did. It was completely affordable, had a friendly patient captain teaching us (thanks Martin) and now we know what we are doing. Martin spent 4hrs teaching us how to dock, do the anchor thing, how to gas up, how to pass and now we feel confident. We also took the "boat right" course online so we are more familiar with the laws. The boat was more than we would ever expect in a rental. The young man helping us at the dock (Kevin?) was very polite and encouraging. Whole experience was pretty terrific. read more

What a great experience!!! I called the morning of the rental and a human being answered. How refreshing. I spoke with June, she's gave me accurate pricing over the phone and took my reservation. There were no surprises when I got there, everything she said on the phone was delivered. The staff that helped with the boat was nice and thorough when it came to the instructions of the boat. Upon our return they filled the boat with fuel and guided the boat back to the area where we were to unload. They even helped with our trash. Poor equipment nothing electrical on boat worked. Am/fm Stereo the ship to shore radio the Fuel gauge were NOT working . I was told its an old boat the oldest in there fleet. Being agitated i took the boat out since they already charged my cc before seeing the boat. The steering was a constant fight all day very difficult to steer straight. I was told upon returning that it has a poor hull design. The waterways are restricted with 5mph to a maximum of 25 mph basicity a Slow Hot day. Not much to see or do in the local water ways not very scenic at all. I brought the boat back 3hrs early and i was given $50 off for my troubles. I would Not recommend this place at all. There are apparently quite a few boat and jet ski rentals around West Palm Beach, and after calling a few we started to give up hope. We had a large party with 5 kids, and wanted to rent 3 jet skis at the same time. It's understandable why these places don't make reservations, but this was the only place that was honest and upfront about it. Other rental places would tell you to come down, and they will have something for us - only to find out there was an hour our two wait before something would be available. June, who works at the Jupiter Inlet Boat Rentals, said that they had all three, but couldn't guarantee that they'll still be available when we got there. Luckily for us they still had them and we had a blast. The jet skis were brand new, June took the time to explain everything, and we got out on the water with minimal hassle. The stretch of the intercostal runs right behind all the mansions of the rich and famous, and there are plenty of opportunities to open up the throttle. Altogether we had a great time, and I'm sure we'll be back again. read more

My wife and I rented from Jupiter Inlet Boat Rental today and we had a wonderful, first class experience. I always Yelp a business prior to using them and read the negative review left by J.D. but decided to rent anyway. My experience with June was the polar opposite, from my initial phone contact with her to my check out, June was courteous, professional and knowledgable. Being new to the area, June spent time with me going over and marking charts and writing down points of interest. This made our trip really great! I even called her from the boat for some dock and dine options. Guanabana was an excellent stop! Added bonus is you get 10% off your check if you come by boat! My rental boat was a new Cobia with a fuel sipping Four Stroke Yamaha. What a pleasure to handle. Perfect for this area and won't empty your wallet at the gas dock! Doug went over the boat's safety features prior to our trip and met us at the gas dock to fill her up when we where done...first class treatment. We called ahead and made a reservation for the following day. June who answered the phone was very nice. She explained that the entire place is under demolition and where to meet her. When construction is done they will have everything you need for a day on the water. They also will have a waterfront restaurant. We had to follow June offsite for about a mile to get to the boat. A slight inconvenience but well worth it. The boat was in great shape. Needless to say we had a great day. June marked on our map where the celebrities lived and other things to look for.
