It was a great place. The corn beef sandwich was a mazing and so was the ham and potato soup. But now it is gone, building was torn down.

The place is nice, bright, and classy looking. There was a showcase with some tasty looking cakes and other treats on display. Everything looked deliciously tempting, too tempting to resist! We got the last seven Cream Rolls that they had, thanks to my new friend, Saumya. It was a long thin pastry roll, filled with cream, light and absolutely delicious! I will definitely have to come back to try more of their treats! Thanks again Saumya!

Very clean and spacious with a modern menu (QR code to see the menu). We shared a waffle and I had a hibiscus lemonade. The waffle, not like regular waffles. It was more of a cake batter waffle. This was very good. We opted for the mango ice cream one and the waffle is covered with some white chocolate curls for crunch and a drizzled sauce. There was some cut up fruit. The waffle didn't feel heavy and it was very easy to share. Hibiscus lemonade was refreshing but a bit to sweet for my taste. I'm sure when I come back I can ask them to make it less sweet. There are tons of options for drinks, hot and cold. Quite the selections of teas, and if I was a bit hungrier would have probably gotten a milkshake (roughly $10) Prices are fair , waffles are about $20 and are big enough to share. The person taking our order was great with lots of options and was very knowledgeable and friendly. She was attentive and checked on us regularly. Would definately go back to try some of the other items on the menu that looked delicious as well as the desserts and cakes that are in the window at the front on display at the counter.

I'm a huge fan of their Filipino breakfast which comes with garlic rice, eggs, sausage links, fruit, and cucumber salad. There is generally ample seating but they do get busy on weekend mornings. They have high chairs for young children as well. Service is great. Would highly recommend.

This cafe screams support local with all their unique goods from local honey to artisanal jewellery sold there. On weekends, the kitchen closes early at 2pm, with the cafe shutting down at 4pm. My friends arrived after 1:30pm and most treats were almost sold out. I grabbed a blueberry and a white chocolate raspberry scone to go, super flaky and tasty. The brownie was a bit dry to my surprise, despite looking so decadent. My friends enjoyed a nature bar and huge chocolate cookie with they enjoyed issues. Our coffees came in disposable cups despite asking us if we were dining in. No fancy foam artwork today. Fall flavours to try are pumpkin and pistachio white chocolate. The staff working there are friendly, would visit here again when in the area. Free street parking, and free larger parking lot one block southeast

Had the fig salad, which everyone seems to rave about, and yeah, it deserves the hype. Fresh, dressed properly, actually filling. The shoestring fries are a problem in the best way. I also got one of the bowls based on what the staff recommended and it was excellent, the kind of food that makes you slow down between bites. What I liked most is that you can tell someone in the kitchen actually cares. Local ingredients, seasonal stuff, and the vegan and gluten friendly options are not slapped on as an afterthought. Everything on the menu feels like it was thought about. Staff were lovely, room is bright and easy to sit in for a while, and the prices are fair. Walked out feeling good, which is rare these days. Honestly, if you live in town and have not been yet, go. Small independent spots like this are the ones worth showing up for.

It has been popular among locals since they opened in 2008. The prices are quite reasonable at $3 for 1 scoop and $4 for 2 scoops. Even banana splits are only $5. All prices include taxes! We had a 2-scoop cone: Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough and Pralines & Cream. Both scoops were creamy and tasty. My son really loved them but I did manage to get a little bit of both flavours. There is some savoury food served too like hot dogs, fries, poutine, and coffees. It is owned by a husband and wife team: George and Irene. Both are very pleasant people. They love having fun signs such as: "adults must be accompanied by children" and "children left unattended in this store will be sold to the circus". You can only pay by cash or e-transfer. There is no phone number because I can see they are extremely busy. You can still contact them via social media. There are picnic tables outside. During pandemic times, all staff and customers wear face masks and there is plexiglass used. Only one family is allowed in the small order area at a time. Just outside the entrance, you can be entertained by a famous saxaphone player, Orlando (a Cuban), during nice the afternoons. Today (2021-09-05), we were lucky to also have a guest keyboardist also from Cuba. There is no free WiFi. It is wheelchair  accessible. You can use a washroom by request. Parking may not be easy to find but people tend to parking in the large parking lot behind to store. Review 2021-084 You can also find me on Instagram @chuan_chee. Thanks.

It's really a mish mash of stuff. The ice cream sold here is Kawartha Dairy, so that bit is pretty standard. But the servings are pretty big & a single is only $3 and a double $4, including tax. So it's cheaper than going to a Kawartha outlet They only accept cash & etransfer. The guy is pretty friendly, though there were some ice crystals in the ice cream.
