While visiting my daughter in NC, her family and I went to paint pottery at Just Claying Around. What an awesome pottery place with a great variety of pottery to choose from and tons of colors to paint with. The lovely lady who assisted us was so kind and patient. The store was very clean and oh so comfortable. Tables were large so our group had plenty of room for our pieces, paints and brushes plus our water and soft drinks. A couple was on a date there and they were just as excited to find the place as we were. Take the family, take a date, or go solo, you'll have a fun time! read more

A friend of mine suggested we come here and I was not disappointed! I never realized how fun and easy painting clay could be, they had a decent price for what they offer too. My yarn bowl was $33 and that included access to the pains and brushes. No extra charge other than tax. This is my new favorite thing to go do when I want to go out with friends or my husband. It's a great place to take kids too! It was very kid friendly with fun sculptures for the little ones to paint and there were also plenty of serious pieces to choose from for the adults that want to try their hand at art. We went to celebrate galentines and do something different. The staff was wonderful and so polite and helpful, greeting us as soon as we arrived and explaining each step of the process to us. They had a phenomenal selection of pieces for us to paint from figurines to banks to tiles to serving trays and dish ware. The ambience is a great place to spend time with friends and the whole experience is very therapeutic. Be warned you'll probably take longer than you expect as each color requires 4 coats of paint. Everyone in my group had to go back on at least one occasion to finish, but overall so worth it. read more

I just went here for the last time last week with my almost 4 year old and we loved it! Okay, I was a little stressed out, but she loved it :D The owner is very nice and very thorough in her explanations of how to get your pottery to come out right - which is handy, unless you have a preschooler, in which case, it's all kind of irrelevant :D Next time, I'm going to let her paint and I'm going to paint something of my own to distract myself. You pick out one of the unfinished pottery pieces (they have mermaids, animals, mugs, spoon rests, plates, etc) and then you paint it. When you're done, you leave it there and the owner fires it and you pick it up a few days later. Some of the unfinished pieces are expensive, but there are less expensive pieces, and I know what everyone is getting for Christmas! :D read more

I had my daughter's birthday party here, and it was a perfect party for both the kids and the adults. It was a refreshing change from the stress of chasing kids around Chuck E Cheese or Fun Fun Fun, and the kids all had a blast! They all got a present to keep for themselves with the ceramic they painted, and the owner painted a plate with the theme of my daughter's party invitation on it that was so beautiful. I love this place! If I could go everyday I would it is so relaxing during the week if you go on the weekend be prepared that there will be a lot of kids but if that doesn't bother you then for all means go on a Saturday. Just went there for the first time and wow was I amazed. I took my son here for some father son time, he's only 2.5yo and it was awesome to say the least. We walked around and compromised on a coffee mug (vs the racecars he wanted to make for mom). At first the prices seem quite high. I mean $24 bucks for a coffee mug seems absurd. But I quickly realized you arn't there for a coffee mug. Your buying a wonderful experience at one of the few mom and pop type shops left and making something that will mean more then any other coffee mug. Your also buying one on one personal attention and service from the great staff (owner and one employee). My son had a wonderful time painting the mug. The girl showed us what to do, had gobs of advice, and was constantly checking up on us ensuring our experience was nothing but the best. While we were painting the owner stopped by and talked to us, huge smile across her face. Someone that truely enjoys what she does, and it shows in her business. I can't wait to go back and get the mug that we made for mom for Xmas. I can't wait to go back with my wife and daughter too and make more memories. read more

Love this place. My daughter goes once a month for children's night. the staff is wonderful and great with children, my daughter has learned so much about pottery and design. We also go in between , last week we visited mother and daughter day to do a two piece tea set and teapot. It was wonderful! This place is a must see and visit in Fayetteville. read more

I'm a single father of two boys 5 & 3 yrs old. I took my boys here to try something different but my sons attention span usually last about 45 min. I was told that I could take the pieces home and finish them, and just bring them back with the receipt for them to be glazed and and placed in the kil. I went thru the pain staking process of purchasing the paint from the same companies but in a few different colors. BUT once I returned the lady that worked there immediately became somewhat aggressive at the fact that I used different paint colors than they issue and would not allow me to continue with them. I even offered to return withe the paints that I had used so that she could revue them to see if it would be an issue BUT she continued to tell me no and would not even offer any further assistance. So I have $70 of unfinished potter!!!!!! I would not recommend them to anyone and they were very rude and unwilling to assist me!!!!! read more
