This place has an ample parking lot and it always seems almost full because so many people like to come here. They do take donations which can be dropped off behind the store. Like most thrift stores, there's a lot of clothing dominating the floor space, but there's plenty of hard goods to be found around the perimeter. In the back corner of the store, you'll find furniture and lots of clean mattresses along with seven fitting rooms. At the front of the store is a very good selection of books, CDs, and DVDs. It's got everything you would expect to find at a thrift store and the restrooms do not require a key. All the jewelry and high dollar items are in the glass cases at the checkout. I did notice that much of the clothing is priced higher than your average Goodwill. There's a 10% discount for seniors over 60 on Mondays and Tuesdays. 10 informative photos to get you through the door.

It's only open to the public on Fridays and the 2nd Saturday of each month. Never heard of it? Neither had I. From the SWAP website: "SWAP collects, processes, and redistributes surplus property generated by UW-Madison and state agencies, while providing UW-Madison departments, government agencies and non-profit organizations with low-cost, quality surplus equipment and supplies and finding reuse and recycling markets for surplus property. " And what does this mean? Deals, deals, deals! Once we found the proper exit off of 151-S in Verona, we walked into a warehouse busting with furniture, electronics, and computers. The inventory changes weekly, with new (well, old actually) additions coming from all the UW sites across the state in 20 - 30 truckloads a week! You'll find solid desks ($5-30), 60s-style chairs ($5), metal file cabinets, gym lockers, random electronics and lab equipment, and cheap computers. They even have some Badger sports equipment and uniforms. Oh, and ever wonder what happened to that old rusty bike you left chained to a campus bike rack for a season or two? You'll probably find it here for $5. Today they were giving away free dorm chairs (as many as you'd like) with a purchase. Once we crammed our loot into the car, we drove away with six cool vintage chairs for a total of $10. Not too shabby! Check their website for listings of new inventory and their online auction, too.

This past Saturday, they were selling lots of Badger gear from the swimming/diving team, rowing team and the tennis team. There was a large variety of shirts for $5 each, sweatshirts for $20, jackets for $30, etc. They had a lot of badger seat cushions for $.25/each. I wish I needed chairs. There were so many really nice chairs there (starting at $5 each). Lots of shelves, file drawers, tables, lab equipment, computer stuff, etc. We scooped up an awesome set of 8 lockers for $35 (previously marked for $100). The set is in great shape and will come in really handy. Give yourself about an hour to peruse the aisles. The prices are super low and can't be beat. They do have an online bidding site also for their more popular items. Open to the public the 2nd Saturday of each month.

(Cost of Gas was NOT mentioned in Freds phoney sales pitch) Fred also claimed I would receive an itemized list, AND BE PAID WHEN MY ITEMS SELL. THIS DID NOT HAPPEN. Fred never got me legitimate receipts for tax purposes. NEVER heard from FRED G. again on any consignment items. Fred didn't return texts or calls. Fred G. steals from vulnerable clients. I've read customer reviews... same experiences and complaints about Fred G. and his SCAM resale shop.

We let Fred's team into our home because he promised: Photographic inventory of the items we trusted him to take without us there..... we got nothing. He ignored emails from my sister and myself for months. He promised monthly checks as well.... after months of no responses from Fred, my sister asked me to go in to his shop. I did. Fred bumbled around came up with a bunch of bizarre excuses. Including saying my sister said to only work with her... she is the one who sent me there to confront him as to what stuff he took, and why he hadn't paid or communicated in months. He tried to bizarrely blame her. Anyways. Read other reviews and his attempted brags in his responses about how many clients he's had... which just support all the other reviewers stating how he ripped them off during tough family times. He's also been trying to get a review I left removed... Yelp admin... if you ever need receipts for any of these facts Fred tries to get taken down, feel free to contact me.

They have a fair amount of electronics, appliances, and media, but not much furniture. This is one of the smaller Goodwill's with low ceilings. They have public bathrooms here that do not require a key or a code. They do have their own private lot as well.
