Walked in and the lady working there told us masks were required and we said we didn't know because we live out of state. Then we turned around to walk out and said OK never mind we don't wanna shop here. And as we proceeded to leave, the lady walked out of the store after us and yelled "fucking losers" at us. Great buying experience! The owner was super helpful, and very honest about stuff that did or did not look good as we tried stuff on. Amazing assortment, and my big, Eastern European head, and my friends tiny head were easily accommodated/fit. Yup. 2 hats were purchased. read more

We love this place! I think we spent like an hour in there, both tried on half the hats in the place, and ended up buying 4 or 5 (including the one in my new profile pic). It's a tiny shop, but they still have a good range from relatively inexpensive caps and straw hats to higher end hand-weaved hats, Stetsons, etc. Also, the lady working there was very helpful and so incredibly sweet that I wish I could recall her name so that she gets credit for her far above average customer service skills (maybe there's only one blonde lady who works there). This was actually our third time at Just Hats and every time has been a similarly great experience, so we'll definitely be back ... though it may be a while since we both have so many hats now. I came into The store looking for a hat. There was an elderly lady, with yellow medium length hair. maybe in her 50s or 60s? Anyway. At first she kindly said "masks are required in this store" and I replied "oh I'm sorry I'm out of state and I thought it was mask free state" (up until now no one ever told us to put a mask on, and we've been here for a few days in and out of restaurants and stores) she then said "no you still have wear a mask" and I again replied "But the governor issued out a declaration saying that they will not require masks nor will they fine anyone not wearing a mask." Then she raised her voice and said "no that's not true you have to wear a mask. " (which is dishonest) And I just simply didn't want any confrontation...we were tired. So I proceeded to walk out of the store waved and said "OK that's fine thank you anyway." First she replied with "okay" and a sarcastic "buhhh byeee" and after we were already a god 20 ft out of the store she chased after us in the streets and quite literally yelled " you f****** losers!!!" Me and my sister turned around shocked and quite appalled by the sudden change in behavior. Lol honestly we thought she was on something. But probably not the best way to win customers.... after all we have the right to walk away and not shop there if we don't have/ or don't want to wear a mask. ‍ read more

I just came from a visit to your store. It is a super cute store with many really nice hats. My family (consisting of my husband and two sons) and my sister-in-law's family (her husband and two children) walked in to your store to not just browse but purchase a few hats for everyone. The clerk that was in your Madeira Beach store was initially not very friendly, but then her attitude changed to outright rudeness. She very loudly stated that we were not "putting the hats in the right places". I made sure my children were replacing the hats in their initial places. There were others customers in the store as well. My son tried on a very colorful hat and she pulled it off his head and stated he should not try on a woman's hat. My son recently suffered a head injury, so I am very sensitive about his head. When I then approached the clerk and told her it was very inappropriate that she ripped the hat off my son, she responded by stating, "you are a bad parent for letting your SON try on a WOMAN'S hat!". I could not believe how outright rude she was. I then told her that I was pretty sure she was not the owner and she replied that she was not and that the owner would have told me to leave the store! She then handed me the owner's card. I tried emailing the owner, but the email bounced back. I have run my own business for twenty-two years and I have a staff of five. Should any of my staff treat my clients the way your clerk treated my family I would not have any clients. My sister-in-law did, in fact, purchase a hat that she had chosen, but she hesitated because of the way we were treated. Stopped in here while on a vacation trip. Store had the exact hat I was looking for. I wear a hat everyday so I tend to buy higher end hats as opposed to ball caps. The store had a wide range of quality from casual wear to more robust wear. I purchased a beautiful Bermuda hat to replace my aging one back home. Very happy with the price and quality. Lady in the store was very helpful as well. I knew what I was looking for so didn't really browse the store, I was kind of in and out but I would certainly go back for my next purchase. Loved all the choices of hats! They have beach hats, safari hats, baseball caps, etc. and assorted bags. The lady working was extremely helpful finding hats that fit my husband and I. She also took the time to put put fitting tape in my beach hat so it fit snug. Loved this shop! read more
