Brick and mortar toy stores are increasingly struggling to keep their doors open, so it's a relief to find a really good toy store in an easily accessible area. They have a really great message and seem to be conscious of being inclusive. They have books from different cultures (I found a really good one about Ganesh, an important Hindu God), a Black Lives Matter sign in the window, and the customer service is top notch. I arrived a few minutes before opening and was willing to wait, but the woman working inside saw me and immediately unlocked the door. She was very friendly not just with me but with the kids in the store. It's such a warm, bright and friendly environment. You can find so many things here including toys, books, large items like ice cream making stands and rocking horses, costumes, legos, puzzles, art and other creation making kits, stuffed animals. It's nicely set up, bright and welcoming. The prices are also reasonable. They provide wrapping and choice of ribbon color as well. They continually change what they have in stock and stay relevant with the seasons and holidays. So if you're looking for a gift for your child or someone else's, I highly recommend supporting this business. read more

I wanted to go in here to get some thing for my friends young child. I was barked at that I have to put on a face mask .it's now February 2023. Mind you even hospitals now are taking away the requirements for masks. Absolutely no other business in New Jersey New York City Westchester Connecticut etc. Demands you put a mask on your face (The store was nearly empty when I was there only one other customer) . I told them I'm not comfortable wearing a mask and I've been Vaccinated and had three booster shots. . I knew exactly what I wanted to get. The employee said I could leave the store if I don't want to put a mask on my face. So that's what I did. Utterly ridiculous. read more

Great little store. I thought the prices were reasonable - maybe not as affordable as Toys "R" Us but this is a small business, they can't get away with such discounts. They have a good selection of toys - I've been here several times and never had an issue picking something out. They offer gift wrapping and the staff is really friendly. Sometimes parking on Bloomfield Avenue is a pain but there is a large parking garage around the corner (by Church Street). read more

Super cute toy store with a super cute name! I felt like a kid again roaming through the adorable stuffed animals and magical toys. This is the perfect place to shop for a present. They had board games and puzzles. In the back they had little dress up costumes for children as well. I think if I came here when I was a kid, my parents would have to pry me out. The people who work here were friendly, offered assistance but were also cool on letting us browse on our own. Had I not just blown money on clothes in the store before, I definitely would have gotten a stuffed animal..or two haha. read more

Small but full of toys you wouldn't readily find at the big box toy stores and for that reason I come back here time and again. The only drawback, as others have mentioned, is the pricing. I could easily find most items here cheaper on amazon or elsewhere online but when you factor in not being able to see it before ordering and paying shipping (unless you qualify for free shipping) and waiting for it to be delivered - it's much easier to just come here and pick out what you need and even have it gift wrapped for free. I joined the rewards card program and hoping for a kickback soon to lessen the pain of having spent so much money there this past Christmas. read more

They have a nice selection of toys, many throwbacks and simpler-time toys, not the video game barrage of today. If you're in a bind, shop here. Otherwise, you'll find it online for WAY less. Parking can be a bit of a problem and you may have a bit of a walk. This makes shopping a bit difficult as you really can only get one or two items with any hope of carrying stuff to your car. read more

Amazing store and service. They have another location in the city. Whenever I have been looking for something specific, all of the employees have been willing to help me find a gift or order me something. If the product was in their city store, they have called me right away the next day to tell me that they will bring it to me in Montclair for pick up. They have a great and organized toy collection for children of all ages and also have many unique and educational toys. This is the place!!!!! If you are in need of a clean, unique & amazing place to shop this is it. I picked out 5 Christmas gifts for the kids in my family. I am shipping this year rather than giving in person, so I was looking for something easy to mail, but thoughtful. This store has everything for all ages. I found myself wishing I had to buy more for more kids haha. Covid wise, the shop is social distant and only one family is allowed in at one time, they have an incredible pick up option as well. This magical place filled a unique need for myself and my family. My Mom has dementia and is in a nearby nursing facility. In an effort to try and provide an age appropriate activity to do with her to stimulate her mind and also to make sure that she and I have some quality time together, I spoke with Chelsea about something that we could do together. I mentioned perhaps an easy, toddler level jigsaw puzzle, and Chelsea was happy to assure me that JKA has a variety of easy, 12 piece puzzles! She even emailed me pictures of their assortment of puzzles as well as some cute and cuddly stuffed animals. I wound up making some perfect selections, my Mom and I have fun putting together the puzzles when I visit, and she loves her soft, cuddly husky dog and kitty "pets". Anyone who has an adult loved one with a similar need as our family would be well served to stop in or call. These wonderful, caring people are rock stars in my book and had no problem going out of their way to serve an often overlooked group of folks...Thank you, guys for making our familie's journey just a little bit easier. AWESOME children's store. It's so hard to find the right kids store. They're either super commercial (like Toys R Us) and only good for generic toys (which is fine for certain occasions), or they're WAY over the top boutiquey, with $300 dolls and $100 wooden toys. This is the perfect in-between, with everything clearly being carefully curated, but also satisfying any occasion and offering everything from run of the mill stuff to special one-of-a-kind gifts. I like their selection of the toys. I like how creative they are with their window decoration. That's true that their prices are high, but I wouldn't even know about a lot of the toy brands if I didn't see them at that store. They are very kid friendly. the only downside is that I can't leave it without buying anything for my toddler. I read reviews and would like to add that I had a completely different situation when two sets of kids jewelry were marked with different price while the stand they were said one price. They agreed to sell the set marked higher for the price of another one. It might depend on the employee (for example the owner can make the decision while the hired sales person wont). read more

This is my favorite neighborhood toy store for years!....Having all girls, I came in recently uncertain of what to get a 6 year old boy. The girl that helped me showed me a variety of different things and we decided on a super fun game called Fastrack (she let me try out their demo and I instantly loved it!) I went in today to purchase two baby gifts. I found the gift I wanted to buy--two of the same item--and realized they were priced differently; one was marked $2 less than the other. The saleswoman said she would sell me one at the lower price and when I explained that I was interested in buying both, she said I would have to pay the higher price for the second item. I left not buying anything, and guarantee I won't be back. As a result of this shortsightedness, the store lost my business today and any future business I would have given them. Had they sold me both items at the lower price, they not only would have made a sale today, but they would have had my repeat business simply for taking appropriate care of a customer. Instead, this shortsighted decision leaves them with nothing. This woman has some of the worst business acumen I've ever experienced. Hope it was worth the $2.... read more
