Unfortunately, when I came here on Sat afternoon, there is no pierogis in the deli section and the variety of frozen perogies were quite limited. BUT, they have cold cuts and bacons that are from small farms not from the big name companies. The lady over the counter generously allowed me to sample them before making decision on which to buy. I am pleased to know that they have WAGENER'S Weisswurst that I like. So glad to know that I do not have to travel to Pusateri to get this. I was also sooooo pleased to find this smoked cheese. Please see the picture. Mild and slightly sweet taste with delicate aroma of smoke - the outside is crispy and I felt crisp in every bite. Addictive. Very nice customer service. On my next visit, I should try their sandwiches -they are popular for their sandwiches. I learned that pork schnitzel is made in the morning. I should come in the morning to get a fresh schnitzel sandwich!!!

You also have the option of adding toppings such as fried Brussels sprouts, goat cheese, chorizo crumble, etc. The food was prepared quickly. We ordered the Buffalo chicken with boiled pierogis. There were plenty of pierogis that came with the order and each was plump and had a nice bouncy chew with each bite. The Buffalo chicken pieces were fried which provided some contrasting texture. The bbq brisket was saucy and tender. I appreciate that the mac and cheese was also very saucy and had a good cheese pull from the cheeses. There were tonnes of sautéed onions with this dish. My only critique is that the sauce was a bit thin compared to some Mac and cheese sauces that I had in the past. The space is warm and inviting with a combination of table and bar top seating. There's seating for about 18-20 people. There was a family celebrating a child's birthday while we were there and they were raving about how they had to come back after a previous great food experience. Order ahead is also available. We were running out of cold cuts at home, so we decided to check this place out! Stepping in, I was a bit disappointed by the very small selections of cold cuts. HOWEVER, I was intrigued by the unique and interesting line up of hot food menu back of the store. We bought : # Frozen Perogies (cottage cheese & potato) # Weiners # Cooked Perogies (Cottage cheese & Potato, AND Sauerkraut & mushroom) # Pork Shish Kabob # Croquette Ohhh my gosh. The pork Shish Kabab was delicious and delicate! Chunky Juicy tender loin pork cuts were skewered, breaded and pan fried to golden brown. The meat was super tender, full of herb-y aroma. "A burst of flavour in every bite" it says, that is true! Another wow goes to Croquette. Savory meat stuffing (chicken and pork) was rolled in a soft crepe, breaded and fried. Layers of textures (crispy, chewy and tender) to enjoy. Nice aroma. It is going to make a perfect comfort food!!!!!! Perogies are good as well, chewy soft wrapper. It looks like an ordinary wiener, and I thought it was a bit pricey compared to other places. But when I cooked it I knew why. Delicate! The case was very very thin, I heard high pitched "crisp" when I bit into it. The meat was smooth and juicy, seasoned with a hint of herb-y aroma, which made this wiener stand out from others. Near the casher, there was a sampling dish for sourdough bread. They told me it is freshly baked by a local, independent baker. It was delicious, the best sour bread that I have had in Durham region so far. I did not buy it this time as I still have sour bread at home, but I will definitely purchase next time. They have many locally-made selected food items on the shelves. From today's experience made me want to check their cold cuts next time. Although the variety was small, each item may be carefully selected one. Very happy to find this place!!

Large portions as usual, house made gravy. Mmmm. Close to the 401 easy to get to parking on site. Excellent choice in the menu. And the house made rice pudding for dessert or strawberry pie. I particularly love the butter chicken rolls, mutton rolls, and mutton patties. For more substantial fare, the roti are wonderful! They are the best roti that I've ever had, probably because of the crispiness and lightness of the roti pastry, enhanced by the deliciousness of the fillings. Recently, I tried something even more substantial: the Butter Chicken Kotthu Roti. This just blew me away: soo tasty!! I had planned to share it with my husband, but ended up keeping it for myself: it was just that good!! My only mistake was ordering a mild dish, because I really needed a bit more spice. I actually go there so regularly that they now recognize me, and occasionally recommend something new or give me something new to try. Much to my surprise, as someone previously unacquainted with Sri Lankan food, this Marino's has become my local, go to place for some take-out. Next up: try the Biryani! It has been receiving an overwhelming amount of support from the neighbourhood because every time I've gone, there's been a lineup outside the tiny little store. I finally came here on a random Thursday at noon and the lineup wasn't that bad that I decided to check it out. Inside the store is very small, but the workers are very efficient and friendly. One of them even gave me a full-size butter chicken roll sample to try when he asked me if I've had anything other than mutton rolls. I ordered six mutton rolls and they came hot and fresh from the back and then I ordered four fish patties, which were already at the front so they weren't as hot and by the time I walked back with them, they were kind of cold, but the mutton rolls were still very hot. The fish patties were delicious. I love how thin and crispy the outter skin is. The fish inside tasted lovely as well and now for the finale, ... the mutton rolls. The mutton rolls again were super hot and fresh. They were quite spicy just like how I like them and inside there were sizeable chunks of mutton. You could really taste the mutton! Overall, five out of five for the taste. This is a purely takeout place. There is ample parking in the plaza but just know that they only take cash or debit no credit card. The only thing that I would say is that since they're so new (I'm assuming), they had no menu or prices labelled anywhere so when I ordered, I didn't know how much the total was going to be. I don't even know how much one mutton roll is, but I was willing to pay whatever to get a taste of the famous Marino's bakery. Overall, I think it lived up to the hype. I would definitely go back again to get a quick snack and I would recommend it to anyone in the neighborhood.
