For our Thailand Ridgeback - just like home IS- just like home! he is an extremely protective breed therefore, is not typically keen on people however, he loves all of the staff there in Palm city. This is easily seen as he is so excited when we arrive to go inside and loves to go with the various handler's and they are even able to bathe him which other people have not been able to do. We personally put him in the kennel ourselves and the kennel has been clean every time we've arrived and the staff clearly are all "dog lovers" They have the newer technology and are also able to communicate via email and text. We highly recommend Just Like Home Kennels if you have a very private and or challenging breed. Our Thailand Ridgeback is apparently one in around 100 or so here in the US and is extremely protective unlike the Rhodesian ridgeback's from Africa SO, if our dog loves just like home- yours should too! read more

This is a direct quote from their website, it's also a COMPLETE LIE. "Sitting on 10 acres of land, your dogs have the freedom they deserve to play and run". The property is large and beautiful with lots of land yes but your dog won't see any of that. They'll see their concrete kennel and a very small dog run right outside the kennel every couple of hours. They DO NOT ALLOW ANY DOGS TO PLAY TOGETHER. Just like home you say??? Ummmmmm....Just Like Jail would be a more appropriate name. I understand some people are fine with boarding their dogs in a place like this but it's completely false advertising. Call it what it is and save yourselves more bad reviews like this one. read more

My two havanese dogs are happy to be boarded at JLHK. JLHK is great about spur of the moment drop off and flexible with pick up. They bathe the dogs before pick up. Kind and courteous staff! My boyfriend's mom planned a day trip for us to enjoy while visiting them for Christmas in Florida. Our main concern was where their dog and our two dogs would be during that time. Here enters the need for doggie day care and we made arrangements. We dropped off the dogs in the morning and told them we would be back between 7-8pm that night. They said that was fine and we could pick them up after normal closing time at 6pm. We got there at 7:30 and the building was dark. No one was there. We tried calling the three phone numbers listed on the front door: one went to voicemail, one instructed to call yet another number, and the third was answered by a grumpy ex employee who informed us she no longer works there. We did manage to get hold of someone who told us Abby would be there in 15 minutes. We waited for a few minutes, and Abby called us and asked what it was we needed. She didn't know what was going on either. She arrived about 40 minutes later, we collected our dogs and left. As soon as we got home, all three dogs made a beeline for the water bowl. One of my dogs tried drinking out of the pool she was so thirsty. I don't know if they weren't given water at all or just not enough but the dogs were thirsty to the point of minor dehydration. If I need boarding/doggie day care services again while I'm in FL, I'm going elsewhere. read more

So, let me start out saying that this is the best name for this facility!! "Just Like Home Kennels".... the staff is amazing and professional. The facility is very clean and well kept. There is a super nice guy named Raj that he has gone above and beyond for a couple of our rescue dogs that are staying there. Thank you Raj for making these two boys feel so comfortable and taking such good care of them !!! Do not take your pets here. This place is filthy and the staff was very cold to us. When we picked our dog up the girl who checked us out didn't look at me once and could not tell me how our dog did during doggie play time. I was excited to hear how he did as he gets nervous around other dogs. There was a little dog in a cage in the office that was so dirty and mangy I couldn't believe it. Our dog has thick fur but I noticed after we brought him home when I was petting him that he had tiny little scabs on his back, which I am assuming from bug bites. Will never bring him back and feel so guilty for leaving him there. read more

This kennel is good and after I pick up my dog, she is always in good spirits. They must take really good care of her when I am gone!

Our family dog, Daisy, has stayed at Just Like Home Kennel for 5 straight years over Christmas vacation and also the last few years over Spring Break. We are very happy with the service. The staff always greets Daisy when we walk in and she responds by wagging her tail and giving her paw! I am 100% certain if Daisy wasn't happy to be there, she would not go bouncing in the door and greeting the staff. She would lie down and not budge. Every time we make arrangements for drop off or pick up, there is someone there and other dogs are out in the office or in the day rooms. There are bowls of water and beds and the dogs look happy. I would recommend this boarding facility to anyone. read more

I have boarded my 2 dogs here for the past year and a half. The dogs have always been returned safe and sound but this past time I was treated very rudely by the manager Debra because I did not want them to bathe my dogs. She even hung up on me mid sentence. As the owner of the dogs, I think I should have the right to request that my dogs not receive a bath. I have spent close to $2000 at this kennel and being treated so rudely and hung up on over a $10 bath is unacceptable. read more

Very caring people. My dogs were very well cared for. They were brought out to me bathed and groomed and happy to see me. They ate well and was told they behaved well also. This is always nice to hear. The facility is very clean and the office is warm and friendly with many dog photos. The manager also answered questions about training which I also appreciated. I would totally give them a complete thumbs up. We will be back when we leave town for our Easter vacation! read more

This is the last time we will board our dog there. They are extremely disorganized and charges and policies have changed each time. The second time they lost all our records and we had to bring back all the paperwork to verify our dog had all of his vaccines even though we had just boarded six weeks earlier. I was heading to the airport and they refused to accept the dog. I had to frantically call around and get his vaccines sent again from our previous out of area vet. We were told they put all the records online but ours was lost. Today we picked our dog up after confirming fees with them five days ago and today they added a $45.00 bath fee. I was told it was under new management yet it was the same owners and employees. We called three hours before picking him up and he was wet and matted and they had to search for his collar and toys we had left. When I tried to request a manager the young girl said none was available. I refused to pay the fee and she would not give us our dog. read more
