I've already written a scathing review on Armstrong Painting and their quote to paint a 4,000 sq ft home in Silver Creek Valley Country Club that amounted to highway robbery ... following that disaster, the wife shot out an email to about 20 of our fellow neighbors in the club to hear if they had any recommendations for house painters they had worked with recently. I was quite surprised when the feedback suggestions included several responses highly praising M&M Painting and it's owner, Mark Wysok. Mark personally came out to the house to look over the job and I was able to explain to him exactly what was needed to be done ... which included some pretty extensive repair of the water damaged membrane sprayed over the stucco'ed exterior when the house was built. Rain water had seeped behind the membrane and in many spots had blistered and it was quite unsightly. Mark explained to me the process, how long it would take, when he could fit me into his schedule and about 24 hours later, a quote on the job was delivered which was right in line with my expectations and my budget. When I asked him how much money down he'd need to secure a slot in his schedule and pay for the materials he'd need to order for the job he astounded me with the answer ... "you don't pay me a penny until the job is entirely finished to your satisfaction" WHOA! What was NOT in line with my expectations was what happened over the five or six days Mark and his crew worked on the house. They showed up EVERY day at 8:00 AM ... never missed a day and didn't leave before 5:30 PM or so. The power washing they gave the house was very thorough and really cleaned up a lot of the afore mentioned damage to the stucco. The care and detail with which they pained the house's trim / gutters / pillars / and woodwork was exceptional and very exact. We chose a satin sheen finish for the trim at Mark's suggestion, versus flat for the remainder body of the house, and the visual results were stellar. The further sanding and repairs they made to the textured membrane areas were extensive and outstanding ... taking great care to blend the textures to the point where you could not see where the rest of the surface began and the repaired areas ended ... this was the area I was most concerned with given the difficulty in feathering these repairs perfectly ... it turned out beautifully! The body of the house was sprayed AND rolled ... with a different color ... and again the lines of demarcation were extraordinarily exact ... very precise ... even one of the painters mentioned what a bad job was done before ... his comment mentioned something about 'how little pride they must have taken in their work' ... this man spoke volumes right there!!! The doors were painted with a gloss white and they took practically all day to ensure the many french doors and their glass panes were painted around professionally and perfectly. They spent an entire day going around the house looking for imperfections and touching them up. At the end of every day, the materials and tools and ladders and plastic shields were collected and stored on the side yard out of sight. Mark stopped by on Saturday morning following the week of work to walk around the entire house with me, wanting to hear of any dissatisfaction we may have had whatsoever. We found none ... nada ... zero ... nuttin' When I told him how absolutely pleased we were with his (and his workers') craftsmanship, he took great delight in hearing this ... I could tell ... personally and professionally, it pleased him greatly. THIS is the kind of professional you want painting your house ... unequivocally recommended!!! Not only was the job completed thoroughly and at the greatest degree of quality, but their manner of customer interaction was timely, considerate, informative, and flexible. During the bidding process, Bette and Duane answered all of my nit-picky questions about paint ingredients and quality, ability to do correct color-matching, prep processes, and similar questions specific to cleaning, prepping, and staining our fences, exterior doors, and a gazebo. They analyzed everything from angles and duration of summer sun exposure to which blends of fence stain that would provide the eventual color we wanted to match our front door. They also made valuable suggestions about embellishments and changes to some of our trim work that would improve the visual effect. After we accepted their bid and set a start date, our neighbor next door began a house remodel that continued for months to kick up a lot of dust and dirt that precluded our painting. This made us miss our date with Pro-Staff, but Bette and Duane stayed in touch more than a few times to reset a new start date. Many months later, we were able to finally begin. They were very understanding. I had made a huge deal out of the prep work that I wanted for our project, since no paint job will be any good if the prep is done minimally. Together with the rest of the prep (repaired vents, refurbished patio-ceiling medallions, sanding and caulking soffits, sanding and treating custom wood-trim exterior window frames, etc) Pro-Staff spent three weeks working on our house before the first drop of paint was applied. During the painting and staining processes, the crew showed up on time every day; they worked diligently and efficiently, but not hastily; they informed me about the few issues that arose and did not take action without my go-ahead; and they were extremely considerate each day about not destroying any plants, not getting paint on our flagstone and slate patios, and cleaning up before they went home. There were many extra things they did, too, such as painting old rusty utility-room door handles with a protective metallic look, and cleaning and staining a matching neighbor's fence gate that adjoined ours. These were not charged to us in our total bill. There simply could not have been a better job done on our project. We are making a list now of interior painting projects that we want Pro-Staff to consider, and I will be contacting them about an ongoing maintenance program every few years to ensure that our excellent painting investment stays great.
