This review is for the Westwood store. Since it is a family owned company, I wanted to post on the Ridgewood location also. The Just Our Shoes website states: "we guarantee top quality customer service and a friendly, stress-free shopping experience". I did not experience that in your Westwood store on 8/13/21 in the late afternoon. Overall I gave this store 2 stars. 4 stars for having unique inventory, 1 star for customer service / sales. I was picking up a takeout order from a restaurant across the street & decided I would check out what the store had to offer before picking up the food. I was dressed in shorts, t-shirt & flip flops. I didn't realize I would be judged while browsing in a shoe store. I tried on 1 pair that did not fit. Then I tried on a pair of buttery soft suede flats that fit & asked the cost since they were on sale. The saleswoman replied "very expensive". I felt like the scene in Pretty Woman. I was so caught off guard I couldn't reply other than to ask the cost again. I tried on another pair of shoes (suede sneakers) and they were perfect. When I said I would take both pairs, the saleswoman said "you're taking both!" with a surprised gasp. Despite not wanting to give her the over $600 sale, I loved the 2 pairs of shoes & had to have them. That saleswoman was so snobby & judgmental. I am a huge fan or patronizing local businesses whenever possible. Just Our Shoes is a perfect example. Their selection is excellent and they only stock better, quality brands. Granted, their women's selection is much greater than their men's but that makes my purchase decision that much easier. Friendly, knowledgeable staff and they have a golden retriever. About the only thing I love better than a well-run local business is a well-run local business with a dog. Great store. read more

This place has a great selection of shoes from many designers that you don't normally see in the big stores or on Zappos. I would not give them 4 or 5 stars since they don't carry narrow shoes but they do have some wide ones (I wear a triple A) but since some of their sandals are adjustible (Beautifeet is one brand) I can wear them. They especially carry comfortable shoes such as heels for dressy events. I have never had an issue with their service and they have a lovely dog who 'minds' the store-so well behaved compared to my 'baby'. I went in to purchase a pair of sneakers and got the sense that the sales person thought I was there to try on and order elsewhere. After that, she was bossy, rude, and made comments to her coworker who then smirked at us. The whole experience was uncomfortable. As I was starting to tell her I would like to purchase a pair, she interrupted me and said have a nice day. She would improve her business if she worked on better communication skills. read more

I just ordered online, and the shoes did not work out because they are too narrow. I indicated I wanted to return them, she said ok you have 2 weeks to get them back to us from today. I said "I thought you give us 30 days". She said I have 2 weeks. I said I'd like to call back in a week to give myself a little more time to consider and time to ship back and she said sorry, it is too late I already have you logged into the system, you'll get a gift card if I don't receive them within 14 days. I have never experienced 1) such a rude encounter with a sales individual and 2) such a terrible and unforgiving process for returns that I am required to pay. Because I have to pay, unless I put into mail way ahead of time I will have to pay a premium to overnight these shoes to them. I will never shop at this place again. read more

I wish I had seen these other reviews before ordering shoes from them. I ordered a pair that looked good on the site, but are just awful for my feet. But, when I looked for a pair to exchange them with, there were NONE that were in my size. Besides, the person said, there was no guarantee that that shoe would be available in my size by the time my return pair ones reached their store. They COULD send some to me now, then credit back the amount for the older ones, but I'd have to pay the $10 shipping. But then I realized there was nothing suitable in my size anyway. Caveat emptor! Ordered online and got an email two days later saying it was out of stock. Called to confirm refund since it didn't show up on my statement after a week. The lady seemed very annoyed by me and was not pleasant to talk to. Was told that they wouldn't do anything with regards to the refund since their system shows that they processed it already. Great selection of shoes, at times, great prices. Only shop (online) with them if you can stomach their absolutely horrific customer service. They don't respond to emails, are rude when they finally do, and ship orders incomplete. They do not charge for items not received, which is a good thing. I ordered a pair of shoes online and returned them. They were never worn and they were returned in the original box. The box evidently was damaged in transit so they refused to accept the refund and wanted me to pay shipping to send them back to me. I apologized that the box was damaged but still didn't want the shoes and contacted Amazon. They checked the refund policy of the store which didn't say anything about not returning shoes in the original box. I broke no rules. I told them I would deal with the refund through Amazon and just write a review of the store on Yelp. They wrote me back accusing me of threatening them and extorting! I think the person that wrote the email to me is not wrapped to tight and will not be ever shopping there again. Too bad because the brand of shoe was very nice. Must Be the worst shoe company in the entire world. Ordered a pair of size 40 Dansko clogs for Christmas. they said size 40, but looked like a 42. They made me pay for shipping. I ordered another pair and they were two different sizes in the same box. Ordered another pair, and again two different sizes. Fourth time around, I ordered another size 40 and they looked like different sizes. They will NOT refund my money. Awful company! Do NOT purchase online from them!!! read more

I read the previous reviews and was hesitant to order but I did purchase anyway. PLEASE DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY. I needed help with a return, and to say the woman who answered was rude and condescending is an understatement. Yes, I questioned their return policy... they won't refund $190 (sale) boots. I get it, but her response was priceless. She told me that most people don't read the agreement and are upset when they don't get what they want. Her words. It only got worse. I can honestly say that I have never had this kind of online shopping experience, and I do 99% of my shopping online. BEWARE of this store JustOurShoes.com - they will find every way possible to keep your money if you dare give them any. They send out damaged ($595!) shoes that they clearly don't inspect before shipping, they DO NOT honor their "Best Price Guarantee" policy (I called them on it when I found the same boots in the same brand/color/size for $225 less somewhere else), and they consider a "Coupon Code" as a "sale price" and they will NEVER give you a refund - EVER - even if you've spent thousands of dollars at their store and have been a long-time customer. You can't even ship any shoes back without THEM authorizing a return first by assigning you an RA # too. You have to fill out an online form for a "Return Authorization" and wait for them to respond while they let the clock run out on your allowable return window (or keep bugging them to get a response) and then if they issue you an RA#, they have to receive the shoes within 14 days (so you have to pay for expedited shipping too). They will do an exchange on a coupon-code "sale/discounted" shoe (so they claim) and then they don't even apply your coupon code discount to your exchange's new pair either! They want to make sure they keep every penny possible. And they will gladly let you spend endless amounts of money shipping back unsatisfactory shoes and they will recommend shoes to exchange that don't fit either. Their "Customer Service" rep sent me an email today calling me - and I quote - "a raving lunatic" because I refused to accept a gift card on my repeated returns after spending a ridiculous amount of money on recurring $500-insured heavy package shipping of large boot boxes back to them.
