There is always something funny, clever, or creative to explore. Many of their items are unique to the LA area or support local creatives. She asked if there was anything she could help us find, and I let her know we were first time customers looking for a birthday gift with the details mentioned above. She let us know the layout of the store, her suggestions, but let us look freely. Over time more customers arrived with small children, and received the same courteous service. The store is clean and curated. I appreciated seeing well made toys and items inspiring imaginative play, rather than cheap plastic with distracting lights or sounds. I eventually chose a doctor play set as well as some items for my own children, such as animal figures and stamp markers. They offer free gift wrapping, which is a nice touch. The one alarming fact that stood out is that there were many empty storefronts on their block, so it's more important than ever to support our local economy. Their prices reflect investment in well made items, so I would not come here expecting big box store deals. In a world full of Target and Amazon, I would rather spend my money supporting a local, independent business. We purchased multiple floral arrangements from this shop for my grandmother's/mother's service. The flowers were beautiful, and we were grateful--until what happened next left us completely heartbroken. After the burial, the florist, Edward, who had stayed and spoken with one of our family members (even making a point to share his name), ended up taking EVERY single flower we had purchased from him off the gravesite. We were shocked and deeply saddened. At first, we were told he was taking a significant number of flowers--but when we returned to the site, we realized he had removed ALL of them!!!! All other arrangements not provided by his floral shop still remained. These weren't just arrangements. They were bought with love, to honor someone we adored and lost. It felt incredibly disrespectful and left our family in disbelief. Please be very mindful before purchasing flowers from here. This is not the kind of memory you want attached to a final goodbye.
