I literally saw the lady at this store yell at a poor child for touching a stuffed doll in the children's section. I couldn't believe how she berated her. Her mother was right outside the door folding the stroller to come inside so she didnt see the interaction but the poor kid was in tears. I myself have been victim to how rude she is which is why i always hesitate even entering this spot but this took the cake. Her behavior was abhorrent. It always is. Just avoid them altogether. Im sure they'll pay a price for their misery. It's a small neighborhood full of locals and from what I've gather from folks, this has been a recurring thing. read more

I visited Just Things and the name of the store is perfect. Just Things is a long-standing store in the Hunter Point neighborhood. They offer a variety of random items, including new toys that are perfect for birthdays. The downside is that their opening schedule is limited. read more

having worked in LIC for over 36 years I needed a place to chill and take mind off work during lunch hour. Just things was just the place and I have picked up so many fun things that I hardly needed but loved to have. I always enjoyed conversation with owners starting with Mother who founded store to current owner. I am always looking for similar stores wherever I roam about but none are as good as this one. When I first walked in to this thrift shop I wad ready to turn around and walk out. It was a place I DID NOT want to be in. It REEKED (and I can't put enough emphasis on the word reeked) absolutely stunk of cigarettes like nobodies business. The walls are baby blue, and the carpet is dark blue; to the left is home goods (cups, glassware, trinkets, decorations, old school finds), and to the right is a section full of the most creepiest looking toys (ones with big eyes that reminded me of chucky). The point I'm trying to make is that the atmosphere and vibe alone made me want to leave. I proved my mother right (so I thought) as to why I didn't want to go to any thrift shop in the first place. My reason for even being here in The first place is because I'm trying to do my bedroom over and my mom swears by HGTV who insists that thrift stores offer the best an unique buys.... I start looking, but everything seems to be crap. On top of that it's cold and smelly. That's when I discovered the back portion of the store!!! Well let me say that's when my eyed were open to the other side of the world "ones man trash is another man's treasure". The back contains clothes, shoes, and BAGS!! Bags galore...and cheap too!! I bought two bags for $18; the silver one $6 and the gold one $12. The gold bag I bought is like.something I've never seen before. The silver one is more a standard bag but it was $6 and I love it but its not a bag id normally.go and spend $30 at some random store. I saw many different brands here from h&m to gap, and even coach. The higher name brands they keep.behind glass, but I only recall one coach bag back there. As I went to.check out the only cash that could be scraped up was $16, two dollars short of what I owed. The lady didn't make me go across the street and pull cash, not did I have to put down one of the bags; she let me give her $16. I will definitely be back to go treasure hunting, but I'm not going to spread the good word as I want to keep this hidden gem all to my self! If you do happen to visit though, make sure you have cash...they don't take cards!!! read more

another cool shop in long island city and its a thrift shop that sells a bunch of cool stuff at great prices .i tagged along with my cuz who was looking for some old books in the mystery genre and he found plenty. i was intrigued by all the old stuff crammed neatly in a small space from trinkets for the home, books, paintings, toys, novelty items and much more. the gentleman who works here is very friendly and lets the customers roam around freely and is ready to answer any questions or needed info. i also picked up a few books , small table lamp that looks like its 100 years old and small painting of a calm moon lighting the sea at night. i enjoyed my visit and thanked my cuz by paying his books that totaled a whopping 10 bucks. a cool thrift shop in queens that will see me again really soon. read more

Love this store... brings back childhood memories. Has a variety of things. I always found things I can give as gifts and things for myself as well. And you can't beat the prices. Its Family Friendly as well as neighborhood Friendly. I definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for things for the house, yourself, for the kids and for gifts as well. Best thrift store in LIC. Hands down. Not much else to say except that the selection is great and the person who runs it is very kind.

I love rummaging in stores like these and finding gems. I went in with no expectations and walked away with two more bags for my collection for under $20. I will definitely return--this time armed with a car ;) read more

Just Things is a cluttered little junk shop, with some dust on the knick-knacks, an owner who smokes, and short hours. During the holiday season they are open on Sundays, per a hand-lettered sign. But on the plus side, I love the selection of children's books (usually $2-$3 per hardcover children's book) and this store is rapidly becoming my go-to for children's toys as well, since I don't love shopping on Amazon, Just Kidding in Grand Central is far away when the 7 is down, and Duane Reade is perpetually over-plasticked and under-stocked. I wish there were a great toy store in LIC, but until there is I'm glad I have Just Things! read more

This corner store has been my weekly walk through favorite since I moved to LIC. It's a "real" thrift store with affordable prices and unique items. You won't find an over priced book or nic nack in sight! Anyone who likes the hunt in shopping will enjoy this packed store. Such a random thrift shop. Literally a thrift shop that has a little bit of everything. I accidentally found this place walking around LIC. It wasn't the cleanest thrift shop but its not the worst. At this thrift shop their prices were very reasonable. This store was not extremely large but a decent size, and pretty organized. I loved just looking at everything in the store. It really was like history, everything in the store was donated and discarded by people in this neighborhood. I found a whole bunch of black and white photos of I guess residents and families of the past. I was trying to see if I recognized the area from the pictures. They have glassware old kitchenware, books, toys, clothes etc. I absolutely love to hunt for things that I didn't know that I needed. Unique items lurking around until I find them, its a very exciting feeling. Don't judge this thrift shop by the ambiance only because there maybe some interesting items hidden around. I was a bit annoyed that I was pressed for time and couldn't really look at everything which means that I will definitely be going back. read more

A classic consignment shop. The back room has a ton of clothes, while the front room has a ton of board games, books, toys, dishes, vases, jewelry, etc. My favorite section is the corner with stationery, which is nicer but way cheaper than anything you'd get at the pharmacy or Hallmark. The owner seems to know a lot about the local art/photography scene and always has interesting art on display, too. Neat store! read more
