I myself have been victim to how rude she is which is why i always hesitate even entering this spot but this took the cake. Her behavior was abhorrent. It always is. Just avoid them altogether. Im sure they'll pay a price for their misery. It's a small neighborhood full of locals and from what I've gather from folks, this has been a recurring thing.

All were carefully curated and displayed. My only dismay was not being aware of the important work the shop does as a non-profit before I randomly popped in as I was enjoying a stroll for some "me" time during a busy family trip. The woman with glasses, who I assume was the "manager/owner", was very passive aggressive with me and came off disrespectful and unwelcoming. I overheard her negotiating pricing on some items with other customers and when I was ready with my two vintage cameras (to be used for decor/props) and one pretty beat up purse (all totaling $75 w/o tax), I inquired if they were willing to do $70 for all. I wasn't sure what taxes the city/state charged so I wanted to be sure had enough on my card (a visa gift card a friend gave me when I was diagnosed with cancer) to cover the taxes. She loudly and obnoxiously replied "NO. WE DON'T HAGGLE HERE". I found it repulsive and aggressive when I had been so overly kind and impressed with the shop during my visit. It certainly caught me off guard. Especially after hearing her indeed "negotiate" pricing with other guests. She didn't even make eye contact with me but made sure to speak her words loud enough to try to embarrass me. I was not embarrassed, rather appalled and disgusted. So much so that I recalled other travelers from my party and told them not to come down to the shop. On the other hand, the two male clerks working with me were so kind, lovely and helpful during my visit. Kudos to them for staying pleasant and gracious in that moment that was intended for ugliness. While the encounter at the very end of my trip soured my visit, I would still encourage others to go and I will likely be back again next time. After visiting their website trying to figure out what I did wrong, I see that the work they do is impactful.

I couldn't be happier or more satisfied with both companies. Ilona at Demolition was so helpful and patient with me. She went out of her way to help navigate what would or wouldn't work for my project. She she spent loads of time to find the perfect solution to my unique security problem. She was candid and had loads of amazing tips for the care and feeding of old wrought iron. This project would have stalled without her. The pictures show the iron door in the second stage. Final painting will happen when the weather warms up. Thanks Ilona it's been a great experience. You have so many beautiful things, I want more!

This store has fabulous 60's furniture, vintage postcards, and awesome kitschy doo-dads galore…read more It's down the block from my aunt's apartment so I find myself stopping in regularly and admiring the gorgeousness that I cannot afford. On my last visit, my boyfriend and I happened upon a boldly patterned red and black fabric. We admired it from afar, and vowed to return to purchase it for upholstery purposes. I made sure to accompany the man to make sure it was a good fabric for the job, and it was PERFECT - thick and not too stretchy. I felt so fortunate. The owner is super friendly and obviously loves his business. I am excited to see if he stocks any more fabric (there were only two patterns) and to one day have enough money to purchase a credenza or some supa slick chairs!
