This was to improve efficiency and heat output by helping our older wood stove achieve optional combustion temperatures. We also wanted to avoid an issue where soot had blasted through any crevice in the stove twice when oxygen level shifted quickly (at least that is what I think was the issue; I am no expert). This outside air intake would also help oxygen not be depleted in the room. It was an unusual request to make because of the type of wood stove we have but we wanted to make the system more functional and Michael installed the intake. He did good work the first day but I wanted to comment on his helpfulness the second day he came over. After the install of the air intake, the downstairs of our house was very cold because outside air was streaming through those same crevices that soot got through. Michael came back quickly after we called to add special insulation where he could on the stove and around the pipe/tubing leading outside. He made sure everything was sealed extra well and also put in a sort of switch thing to open and close the tubing when needed. This cold air coming in was not Michael's fault; it was because of the kind of non-pedestal older wood stove we have. I don't think any of us realized how many crevices there were that air would seep through. We are grateful that Michael came back to do these extra steps and fix our system at no extra charge. It was obvious he wanted to make sure we were happy with the work overall, and we are. We would hire him again and probably will if we have future issues or want to install a new stove one day!

Hired Asphalt of Culpeper to pave driveway to property line. Beyond my line the driveway continued…read moreas a Right of Way. The driveway was not paved to the line - 8 or 10 feet short. This was very beginning of April. The driveway was supposed to be at least 10 feet wide. As they began running out of Asphalt the driveway narrowed to barely 8 feet and the sides became wobbly as they stretched the asphalt. In my conversation with them, I said maybe this was a misunderstanding about the length and I was willing to pay to have it finished as I understood it to be. They said "no, no, they would take care of it." It has been 3 months of Scheduling and Canceling with ridiculous excuses. Broken equipment mostly and saying the Asphalt company isn't making asphalt. Most always on perfect weather days. Hiring another company to remove part of "wobbly" driveway and finish rest at cost of 5k. Take your chances with this company.

Lux Foundation Solutions recommended one thing: replace the basement door. That's it. (And they don't even do doors!) What impressed me most was that Chuck Koach, Lux's Foundation Specialist, assessed things the others didn't. He checked the walls using a moisture meter, thoroughly examined existing interior drain and sump pump systems, inspected crawl spaces for water issues, and checked inside and out for foundation concerns. He came over and then followed up the next day (today) by repaving the driveway. It looks 100 times better!! It looks the way we expected it to look in the first place and we are much happier with the work.
