So the other day our garage door quit lifting. The motor sounded normal (to me), and if I disengaged the door, the carrier moved back and forth, but when the door was engaged, nothing. So I had the great good fortune of meeting Dylan Harrington. He was friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable. He had my problem diagnosed in about 2 minutes (motor was dying in the unit). He gave me a fair estimate, then proceeded to give me a discount and even did a few extras as he got me fixed. He got me fixed the same day very quickly. He also did a tuneup of my second door, adjusting the springs on both so they were balanced. All while being kind, courteous, and very, very competent. TOTALLY recommend these guys, and Dylan in particular! They are now my "go-to" for anything related to my garage doors, and I'll be asking for Dylan in the future. read more

I had two new doors installed. The technician was very polite and professional. The next day, I noticed that one of the doors was slightly out of alignment to my eye. I was a bit peeved that I just paid for new doors only to have a problem so soon. It wasn't a huge issue, but I'm fairly picky. I messaged JV and they came out the next day. They listened to my concern and made some adjustments to the door, to my satisfaction. We decided to get our garage doors replaced after we had a garage door opener replaced. See review of Builders Overhead Door for that nightmare or an experience getting the opener replaced. The doors were the old wooden ones with 4 windows. I hated them. They were drafty and we have needed new ones for a long time. I looked on Yelp and found JV Garage Door LLC, read the review and looked him up on BBB and he has an A- rating the only reason it isn't an A is because they have only been open a year. I decided to give him a call. Joshua the owner is amazing. He is a young man that started his company a little over a year ago. He does the installs and his wife runs the office. I called him yesterday on a Thursday and he said he could pick up the two new steel, 3 panel, insulated, no window doors for us Friday morning and install them at 9am. He gave us a great price tax, installation, and removal all included in the price, no hidden fees!!! He was $500 less than the next closest quote!!! He was there at 9am sharp. Took out the old doors, installed the new ones, with new trim and hauled away all the trash, doors, old rails, and cables. He was efficient and friendly and fun to talk too. Josh was great to work with. My wife backed into the garage door while it was still going up and dented the bottom panel pretty good. Overhead Door came out and got the door functioning, but said it was a short term fix and we would need to replace the entire panel for $580 or get a brand new double door for $1700. I called Josh and he said that did not sound right. I texted him some pictures of the damage and he said all I would need is a new strut. One evening after coming in late from mowing the grass, I noticed my garage door would not close. I was really upset. That same night I searched for garage door repair on Google and found a bunch of 5-star reviews on Yelp for a company called JV Garage Door. I gave the company a call at 11pm and left a voicemail about my problem. First thing in the morning, I received a call from Josh. He listened attentively to the problem and then worked around my schedule to repair the problem. He arrived around 4:30 that day. Within 3 seconds, he had fixed the problem. Somehow...the garage door had been accidentally "disengaged." With the flip of a switch, he "engaged" the door and it began to work. Even though I felt like an idiot, Josh was extremely cordial and made the error seem like a common mistake. Since my 20-year old garage opener was so antiquated and loud, I decided to have him replace my opener anyway. He installed the new Liftmaster 8355 with MyQ wireless technology, along with new non-metallic roller wheels for noise-reduction. I was impressed that Josh did not try to 'hard sell' the new opener. He left the decision completely up to me and seemed content to do whatever suited my needs. Within an hour and a half, the replacement was complete. New opener, new control pad outside, new infrared units, and new wheels. The final price was extremely reasonable and I immediately fell in love with the new opener. Everyone who hears my new garage door cannot believe how much quieter it is! My wife's only complaint is she can't hear the door opening from inside the house. JV Garage is a great local company. Excellent knowledge and resources and very reasonable prices. I called at 630pm on a Friday night and they were out at 9am on Saturday morning. Also they offer flat pricing; I have an extremely oversized double garage door and even though it took them extra time they didn't charge extra. However they did point out that there were a couple of parts of the door that were getting worn that the previous garage door company overlooked! Josh showed me the difference between my worn part and a new part asked if I wanted those replace those for $10 each while the door was apart--that was a no brainer.
