This was mid-May, and daily temps were up into the 90's . So, I reached out to IV Air and asked if they could come out and troubleshoot. Eric and Alex came out quickly within an hour or so and got to it. That led to the call you don't want to get, that the unit was in trouble and more specifically that it would need a new compressor. I had kinda been thinking was going to happen at some point soon due to the unit's age. Sure, I could have spent $1500 on a new compressor and had it working, but probably not for long. Eric recommended that due to refrigerant change and unit age to consider replacing the unit itself, it would be a much smarter long term investment and would likely reduce my power bill by installing a more efficient unit. Well, we did decide to move forward with that luckily equipment was available so these guys went and picked it up. I gotta say that the process was handled so professionally and was done so quickly that when I arrived back home everything had been completed. AC was on and running and the house was cool, the kids (and us) were happy! Remember, as I mentioned before, I was out of town the entire time this happened....so it was a real blessing to know that there are still guys that run companies out there such as these two who take care of business and are trustworthy, skilled, competent and easy to work with. My experience with Arctic Air was very disappointing…read more After my unit was initially installed, I noticed it was not cooling properly, so I contacted the company to address the issue. When the owner came out, he was extremely rude. At one point, he even told me that he did not like my smart thermostat. Despite the thermostat having already been paid for, they removed their thermostat and took it back. Later, a technician came to my home for what was supposed to be a routine service visit. During that visit, the technician was rude and attempted to charge me for several additional services. Since the only service I wanted was a tune-up, I decided to use my home warranty company instead. Because of the technician's behavior, I eventually asked him to leave my home. I reported the situation to the owner and the company, but no one ever followed up with me or attempted to resolve the issue. When I later called to schedule a tune-up, I was told that I had requested to be placed on their Do Not Service list. This was completely false, and I never made such a request. Instead of addressing my concerns, I felt that the owner tried to gaslight me and shift the blame onto me. Throughout all of my interactions with Arctic Air, I remained respectful and professional. I was never rude or confrontational. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same about the way I was treated by the company and its staff. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Arctic Air.
