I was referred by my PCP in February for neurological issues. I finally was able to schedule an…read moreappointment for MAY. I saw the doctor, and he was fine. He ordered an MRI of my brain to rule out any problems. That's where things went south. They referred me to a facility that was out-of-network for my insurance (apparently they couldn't be bothered to check), then dropped the ball. I had to call back, several times in fact, and they gave me the name of another MRI facility to call and the number. So I tried to call -- that number did not exist. I was able to find the correct number and called. Guess what? They had never received the orders from JWM! Apparently JWM staff had faxed it to the wrong number. Who knows where my medical info is now??? Anyway, I called JWM back and left a message (you can never talk to an actual human) with the CORRECT fax number. Several days went by -- crickets from everybody -- so I called the MRI place again and scheduled the appointment, assuming (stupidly) that the paperwork had been faxed. I got a call from the facility the day before the MRI telling me they still hadn't received insurance approval for the scan. I checked my insurance account online and the referral had NEVER been submitted by JWM! I know, shocker, right?? The MRI appointment was canceled, I immediately called JWM and left a message (again, nobody answers the phone) telling them what happened. That was over a week ago and I've heard nothing from JWM. Interestingly, I have a follow-up appointment next week to discuss the results of my MRI. What a joke! You mean the MRI that hasn't happened yet because nobody wants to do their job? What are we supposed to discuss? I've had it and am going somewhere else. I called a new neurologist's office this morning and they asked if I've seen a neurologist before. I relayed this story -- without mentioning any names -- and was told, "I'll bet I can guess where you went." She assured me those things would never happen at their office. So today I have changed the referral with my insurance company, contacted the new doctor's office, and have an appointment. All in the same day! Back in the beginning of this fiasco, I was warned about the office staff and the problems. I'm just sorry I didn't heed the warnings. It's now almost July and I've been waiting nearly five months to find out my issue. I will NEVER go to any of their offices again and will tell everybody I know to steer clear. Too bad, because I liked the doctor and thought he was very knowledgeable and thorough. Something needs to be done.

I left a number for a callback. Nothing. 35 days after the referral I called again, and finally received a return call. The "lady" that called me had a total case of attitude. Before receiving the call, I had researched the practice reviews. I responded to the attitude by explaining that I understand why they have a 1.3 rating out of 5, and had neither the time nor patience for such nonsense, and would seek another practice. I have a very complex medical history and I am new to Indiana. I must say, when it comes to neurology, I am not impressed. Be your own advocate, or have someone knowledgeable advocate for you. But you do NOT need to tolerate this behavior from ANY medical "professional." Too bad ratings do not go below one star. And yes, it was the office staff, not the doctor giving me attitude. I can't speak for others, but can you trust a physician with your healthcare needs who obviously can't even monitor or control the office staff? I can't. I have had extensive experience with neurology, neurosurgery, cardiology, hematology, both vascular and orthopedic surgery in the Cleveland Clinic, OSU, UC, and UWV with top notch treatment across the board from skilled professionals referring me when an issue was outside their scope. Unfortunately not my first rodeo. But there is absolutely no reason for such treatment before ever seeing a physician. If some wannabe office sergeant can't handle a simple referral, what will happen when you really need information relayed to your provider? I didn't request the appointment, myself. My cardiologist sent a referral on my behalf. I will be making certain he reconsiders referring to this office again. All that's really needed to change his mind is to have him read this page.

I threatened them with legal action and they stopped after weeks. Ask patients to sign a form saying they'll pay any and all fees not covered by insurance. Even for medicaid clients. (Blanket waiver) Billed me for a no show, when that wasn't the case. Medicaid's transport company couldn't find a ride for me that day. A health care provider can't bill a medicaid recipient at all for that, even if I had a ride but just didn't feel like going The transport company called them and explained it to them and they hung up on them. That appointment was over 1.5 yrs ago and they still bill me. They call, send bills in the mail and it's in my chart that I owe them $25 Riding the line: Didn't actually have a neurologist on staff when I asked for one. There was one next door but they didn't accept my insurance. Dr. Kundi's staff said they weren't associated, but was also told Dr. Kundi "isn't that type of neurologist". Unfortunately he's the only doctor they have, so I can't talk to any doctor at all, just NPs. Billed medicaid/Medicare $1400 for a $45 brace that he insisted on. I have spinal torsion and I told him it wouldn't work and it didn't. Leave my urine samples unattended. They refused to secure the cup multiple times when I ask. The bathroom wasn't secured and others can use it The interior wasn't secured as required Other: Urine test coming back positive for benzodiazepines because of another drug that gives false positives. One THEY prescribed. (It took me a long time to correct that after they put it in my chart. I asked them to look in my files to see 1 I was on the drug and 2 that it was them that prescribed it. Then I had to find a medical journal to quote and show them.) They did nothing but scold me and still prescribed my pain medicine as usual. Stay out of this unethical cesspool.

Another Doctor at Goodman Campbell said that all of the big cases were given to Dr. Horn. He had a 10-1/2 hour surgery, with rods and screws placed in almost all of his lower back. My husband came out of that surgery with no pain at all, even though he was in terrific pain before. Dr. Horn said that he had a very high tolerance for pain. But even so, 7 of Dr. Horn's team came to the room throughout his stay of 4 days to see this guy with no pain after that huge surgery. You could tell that all of them respected Dr. Horn immensely. He refused all pain medication until the nurses finally persuaded him because they explained to him that they needed to stay ahead of the pain. (What pain? LOL) He came home and put the pain pills in the cabinet. He has since had 2 other surgeries done by Dr. Horn on different parts of his spine, plus carpal tunnel surgery. I recently had ACDF surgery on my neck - July 21, 2022. I too had no pain. In fact, the relief was immediate! Dr. Horn has always been patient, kind, and friendly. After my post-op visit, he asked if I had any questions for him. He has always been on time, and never seems to be in a hurry to get rid of us. Several friends and family members have asked for his info so that they could make an appt. with him, even though we are 3 hours away. (Further for some family members.) He is not surgery-happy. If he cannot help you, he will tell you, and tell you why. Wonderful Doctor! Mary M. Haubstadt, IN

Dr Shannon McKenna was the surgeon and kept rescheduling the follow up appt with the excuse of being in surgery. By the 3rd reschedule we had had enough and go figure he wasn't in surgery and was able to keep the appt. I normally do not leave reviews but I've had to watch my husband suffer through the most excruciating pain since the end of November 2025 that intensified tenfold at the end of February. I took over the communications between the Drs office and my husband because he was too frustrated and miserable to deal with it. We were constantly calling the office for help ..... finally scheduled another MRI of cervical spine to "find out what was going on". Luckily I set up an account and read the report and had access to the images within a day of having the MRI. Almost 2 weeks later the NP calls me to tell me everything looks good and the Dr is referring him to pain management. I read the report and it clearly said he has a pinched nerve root just under C6..... she never once mentioned that until I asked about it. And then blew it off as if it was nothing. When we went to this surgeon my husband had pinched nerves in the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine that the Dr was aware of. I questioned her about this referral and called her out on the fact this surgeon was just pushing him off to pain management instead of actually trying to help him find the problem and fix it. My husband has no desire to be on any opioid to mask the pain. He wants to find the problem; fix the problem. Needless to say I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE FOR ANYONE! The office staff was FANTASTIC! The surgeon Shannon McKenna was the absolute worst doctor I have ever interacted with. Before the surgery we did not have any kind of explanation of what to expect for the day of surgery, the aftercare, the process for afterwards whether or not he will have physical therapy, how long the recovery is, nothing. See you this day this time have a good day. We had to ask them about physical therapy during the follow up appt and were told we could do it if we wanted to. We are now 6 months out and my husband hasn't been able to return to work for 9 months. He struggles to take deep breathes, moves just right and his body locks up, wakes up in pain, troubles moving his neck, laughing can stop him in his tracks. NO ONE SHOULD HAVE TO LIVE LIKE THIS! No respectable Doctor would wash their hands of someone who is so obviously in severe pain that they just can't take anymore. No Dr McKenna refers him to pain management and dismisses him as a patient "due to being confrontational" - which is a joke because they haven't even dealt with him since May! So what is he hiding From? Only time will tell as we get into the new doctors to find out. I highly recommend to NOT see this surgeon if you have any need to visit this place!
