I was pretty nervous to go to this guy due to seeing a lot of the bad reviews. After getting it in finally he called me several times to update me on what was going on with my car (very appreciated). He has answered all my calls and questions (which have been a lot) with out getting upset or frustrated. I saw a comment that said all the good reviews were his friend and to not believe them. I am not one of this guys friends and so far I have no complaints. I have read all of the reviews and in the case that I could have had the same situation (like my card not going through on their end and them wanting me to bring my own oil) seemed to have been resolved. He did not ask me to bring in my own oil and is now only taking cash or check, I'm guessing due to card reader errors. As of now I definitely recommend this place. Prices have been great too. He has not tried to take advantage of me (I am female) but I also have a big scary aunt who knows a lot about cars. In need of a mechanic. This guy is pretty good.

I was also told that they are not known for selling cars yet. I have seen themselves several, so I wasn't sure what the issue was with selling one to me. The title for the car i sign had two owners. I was unaware of that until arriving at the DMV. After notifying him, I returned to figure out the signing process. After leaving the building, I was told that my money will be returned to me. And I will not be getting the car, even though I had already signed on the title and given cash. Not trust worthy people at all. Now my name is on the title of a car that I do not have the possession to. Would not recommend this place. The sad part is I've been going here for about 10 years. So I thought I would be treated better then this.

To make a long story short, Tires Plus, on 132nd and Maple told me this Ford Escape of my daughter's which I had just spent a bunch of $$ at Tires Plus to put a new AC compressor in and recharge a few weeks ago now needed more work. But, when we tried the AC on warm days and even the day after leaving the place the first time after the repair it was not throwing any cold or even cool air out. When I took it back in, assuming it was under warranty from 3 weeks before, they said it now needed a new evaporator coil. The cost? $1600. I took the car back and took it to Kurt at Acme. He and his mechanics checked out the whole AC system to find out it was only a fuse and now the AC is working great and Acme did that at minimal cost. I will keep bringing my cars to Acme. And not just honest, but caring, skilled, and genuinely good people. If you're looking for "Bill and Al" at AME Automotive--congratulations, you've found automotive royalty. I've been taking my cars to Bill since I was 16. I'm 45 now, and AME is still my first (and only) call for anything with wheels. Why? Because Bill and Al are the kind of guys you wish you could clone and send into every shady shop in America. Their word actually means something, and a handshake from Bill is better than a notarized contract. "I got you, you and your family can trust me." And he means it. Honest pricing? Every time. No gimmicks? Never. Random "Oops, we broke something, you'll need a new $1,000 doodad" shenanigans? Absolutely not. Work done right the first time? Like clockwork. Bill does most of the work himself because he actually cares if your car runs perfectly. And then there's Al--the encyclopedia of auto parts, walking around quoting part numbers like some kind of gearhead savant. Ask him for a fan belt for an '08 Silverado and he'll say, "2x2 or 4x4?"--because, yes, those are two different belts, and Al's brain somehow holds that info. My whole family has trusted AME for decades. And they've earned that loyalty every single time. Quick story: Once, a helper (no longer there) parked my freshly detailed rims in the mud. The shop says they are now "corporate" and that the claim is with their accounting department. Again, it has been 4 1/2 months... No one ever answers the phone at the corporate office (which is in Arizona). No one ever returns calls / messages - I have left over 10. I am now paying an attorney to write a demand letter...
