I had a larder bettle in my bag of crickets and when I asked if they would take them back (didn't want to get my gecko sick and I had only walked out to my car) manger told me that's how they come. My parter and I have both worked in the pet care industry, and that's not how it works. Larder beetles show up were things are nasty and moist. Shipments of feeders do NOT show up with them unless they are contaminated. If this kind of filth is normal to them I'm worry about what other kind of nasty things they thing is normal. The manager, I think her name was Ashley, also choose to demean me in front of other customers and with other staff members. I will not be shopping at this location again.

I have taken my two Standard Poodles to PetCo for grooming twice, and both times they did terrible…read morejobs on one or both of them. I asked for shaved face and feet and neither was done on my smaller one. I had to wait forever while it was fixed, with attitude. There were places on my other poodle that were completely missed. I gave them a second chance and they managed to shave one dog's ears completely off after I asked for them to be left as is and didn't touch the feet or tail of the other. I cried. I will not be back and would not recommend taking your dog there!

25 years. This pains me because I've taken my cats to St. Francis for 25 years (I checked my…read morerecords). All it takes is one under-trained vet tech put in charge for a week to chase a loyal client away. One of my cats is old. It's a fact that the older anyone gets, the more cantankerous and obstinate they become. This review is proof. When I took my cat in, I did not know the vets were out of town. Had I known that, I would have postponed the visit because dental issues need a higher level of care than a check up and vaccines. The staff let me open the carrier and allow my cat out, only to put him back in the carrier to be examined in a room away from me. The minute I sat down to wait, my immediate thought was that he's thinking he's headed back home and this isn't going to go well. One scream and a hot minute later, he was brought back to me in his carrier, and the tech literally made the motion of "I'm done" when she said "There is nothing we can do for him today." Forty-eight hours later, I called the pharmacist about a prescription for gabapentin for the next visit: it had never been ordered. He literally explained to me how he processes vet prescriptions to assure me he never received an order from St. Francis, even offering to call about the prescription on my behalf. Instead, I called to speak to the vet directly and got the same vet tech who set up my anxious cat for failure. It was obvious she knew she had done something wrong and didn't want me to talk to the vet, who was still out for a conference/vacation time. Had she just taken the message with no questions asked, I wouldn't have thought anything of it, but because she was clearly on the defensive, it was obvious to me she knew she had messed up. Okay, fine. Own it. We all make mistakes. I just wanted to discuss getting the procedure done as quickly as possible--without coming in the 2-3 times as the tech had suggested--knowing the risks of anesthetizing an animal without prior blood work. Money is no object to me when it comes to my animals, but my time and our collective anxiety are. Let's get it done in one fell swoop. If something happens, well, I'm the one who made the decision. The vet did call me. I was surprised she got the message because I think the tech would have liked for all of it to go away. But I'm not stupid. My pet needed care as soon as possible, and I didn't want to go to a new vet at the time. So I didn't mention the staff's mishandling of the situation and the tech's attitude. However, I knew the tech had probably greased the works before the call, and I felt like I was groveling for my cat to receive the necessary care. The dental work went off without a hitch, and there have been no problems since. I thought I had a caring relationship with the vet after all the cats I've had to have euthanized and all the literal tears over serious illnesses. However, it became clear, after a few off the cuff remarks, no one at St. Francis wants to deal with me or my animals. If you don't have the resources to deal with a meanie, just tell me and direct me to someone who is better equipped. That wouldn't hurt my feelings. I'm well aware he's troublesome. But, at this point, I don't ever want to talk to someone from St. Francis again because I feel humiliated at having to beg for care and apologizing for my cat's behavior, which is actually natural. And if you look at the other bad reviews, you'll notice a pattern: once they run into a problematic animal, they stop communicating. And, yeah, as with another client, there was poop in my cat's carrier when I got him home, and it didn't happen during the drive back. So if you have a little jerk, find another vet.
