The staff here is so friendly and attentive. My pup loves his days at K-9 Country Club. When we get close to it he gets excited. I could probably just open the door for him and he'd run and check himself in if he could. I always feel safe leaving him for the day and when I pick him up, I can tell he had a good time because he's so tired from a day full of play. They also offer grooming services, which comes in handy. Whether it's just a nail trim or full-blown grooming session, I've never been disappointed. Rates are reasonable and really, I can't put a price on my peace of mind that he is being taken care of while I'm at work.

Her eye that was from a bite from another dog in the runner. Paying 700 for her to get stitches.

This is now the second time my dog has been neglected in their care. First time the trainer said she was too distracted to stop my dog from chewing the water bucket . She lost half of her canine tooth and 800 in vet bills. NOW the second time she was there for 1 hour and I received a call my dog was injured they are not remorseful nor do they care. Her eye was ripped from another dog in another runner? If they saw this happening them supposedly "fighting" and nobody stopped it or watched until my dog was hurt. They stand by the fact they aren't reliable for any damages the contract makes it very clear. But I'm wondering whose actually watching the dogs? I send her here to have fun and to be safe but the complete opposite has happened. Nobody has called to check on her matter of fact Faith told me to let them know what happens. The first time she was injured they offered me 10 days free daycare and offered to "train" her for her "behavioral issues" so not only are they negligent they tried to blame a dog for being a puppy and being in their care and they knew what happened was wrong. I will never recommend another person to ever come here very upset with how they handle business.

Other reviewer Kaitlynn has it right: you go in and you see the grooming tables, and the place is still clean and functional. The high half wall was a little surprising at first, but I quickly came to appreciate it once I realized that there were a few dogs trotting around and playing before and after their groomings. In fact, my little corgi immediately found a tennis ball and started scurring around as soon as he went through, and for me, that's a very good sign that he's relaxed enough to play. Their tagline of "every groom starting with a belly rub" is a great representation of their incredibly friendly and playful staff. It's not just a fun time, though. When I came to pick up my dog (and I completely respect their asking you to come back after they call you -- imagine your pup jumping from clippers once it sees you), he looked amazing. Great paw trim and they even managed to do his nails without him *completely freaking out.* I appreciate that they wrote down my requests as I dropped him off. I'm going to be a regular customer, and tell everyone I know who's looking for a groomer.

I'd like to share an experience that I had today with Dog Space. I'm going to tell you the facts…read moreand details, in addition to how it made me feel. On 10/22/2019 I scheduled an online grooming appointment with Dog Space with the owner Mieko for Nov 1st at 8:30 am. I called this morning to talk with Mieko about changing something that had been done last time she groomed my Giant Schnauzer. I have gone to Mieko a few times before and I have always been happy and I have kept a great rapport with her. Last time I asked her to please not trim or cut his eyelashes. They did end up getting cut very short. I was not angry with Mieko I just figured that next time I'd call a day or two before and just talk with her and ask it we could not cut them this time. When I spoke with her this morning I was very courteous over the phone with her and tried to explain exactly what I wanted, which was to just not cut his eyelashes. To my surprise when I tried to communicate this with her said told me and I quote "I can't make you happy". "I can't be your groomer anymore". "I do exactly what you say, not good enough for you". I told her no its okay I just didn't want his eyelashes cut. She then hung up the phone on me. I gave it a few minutes and called back. I tried to plead with. Asking her why she was doing this, letting her know I was not mad and I was sorry. I tried to explain that I photos scheduled for Saturday morning, and that I really needed him to get groomed. She said she was sorry, but she can not help me. I honestly can not believe that she did this to me. I completely understand the right of refusal, however, under different circumstances. I never thought this would happen due to me for just trying to communicate something about my dogs haircut. I'm at a loss, and feel so very sad. I did really enjoy taking my Oliver to Dog Space. After Mieko doing this to me, even an apology wouldn't fix this.

I…read moreexplained everything to them that my dog was extremely kind to me, but so scared of other people. I asked if their classes would help me. The trainer assured me that they have had many dogs like my shelter dog! I have had another dog before and was only used to training a puppy, not a dog that needed special help (such as a rescue dog). We went to a class and they told me I needed a prong collar. They said that is the only way to fix my dog. Sharp tugs to get him in line was what he needed.....a firm hand...etc. In order to teach him to lay down you put your foot on the leash by their collar so they cannot get up! Happily my dog was kicked out of class after the second class! They said they were to worried to have him there! I was so embarrassed! I had explained his situation to them before we even showed up! They even requested i return their "caution dog bandana". What!!?? I then called TAPS, where I rescued him, to recommend a trainer to me. They gave me the name of the person they work with. This person was a godsend to me and my dog. The trainer had so much education in dealing with scared dogs. The trainer taught us how to use positive reinforcement and highly motivating treats to get the proper behavior. I cannot believe how far my dog has come! I often am bothered by the "choke collar" and methods that Heartland taught. I hope everyone reads this and finds a more positive approach.I'm so proud of my pooch! My dog is my world. If you feel the same please do not go to this facility!

I have taken four dogs to this facility for a total of 13 classes. In response to some other…read morereviews, I have never seen anyone REQUIRE the use of a training ("choker") collar or prong collar. Occasionally they have been highly recommended, as they can be a very useful tool if used effectively. I have, however seen some dogs do amazing on prong collars and if used appropriately, (which is taught), they are an amazing tool to teach your dog to walk calmly on a leash. A couple of easy, gentle corrections can have your dog learning very quickly. For those that I have seen insist on using a buckle collar during the learning portion of training, their dogs have continued to pull on the leash and drag their handlers until the very last class. Exactly what they're trying to avoid by taking the class to begin with. All my experiences have been positive. I had the "military man" instructor at one point, and I never saw him choke a dog. Our training collar broke on my giant breed as well on a very light correction. Come to find out, it was a bad batch of collars they had ordered. I have seen some of the worst dogs come out amazing in the end with confident handlers who are not afraid to make a correction when needed, and realize that corrections ARE needed at times. The instructors have always been friendly to the customers and the dogs but will not hesitate at times to be truthful if it's needed. I've no problems returning to Heartland as I've always left happy and with a well trained dog.
