I am from Baltimore and I'm in town on business and some chill time. I needed my hair cut bad. I looked up a black owned and black operated Barber. I called kB and they said come in. So I walked in and it was a friendly, clean, respectful enviirment. I SAID WHAT I WANTED AND GOT JUST THAT. A SLICK HIGH AND TIGHT FADE. I FERL BAD I forgot the name of the young brown skin Barber his chair is the one not in a row but sits alone. Very pleasant and good at his craft.. Received a good cut. Only dislike was the staff were a little unprofessional. One of the barbers went on a profanity-filled rant about something he saw on his phone. My barber overcharged me significantly on my cut because I believe he did not want to risk me not tipping on my card, so he included it in the charge. I tipped him anyways, seeing that he must need it to stoop to that level, but unfortunately, I don't believe I'll be returning. read more

I've been coming here for some years now. I get my haircut done by Vernon. The atmosphere of this place is like one of your typical barbershops. There's always some news gossip, jokes being made, and sports talk going on. There's usually a sports game or one of the latest movies playing on the tv. Walked in the barbershop and was asked if I had an appointment, I said now "no" just need someone to cut my hair. Barber said ok and continued to cut his clients hair. Two more barbers came in and ate lunch, a third barber came in and started to cut another clients hair. One of the two barbers finished eating and started cutting another clients hair who just walked in. I still waited ( stupid of me) to see if anyone would cut my hair. Another client came in and was asked the same question and he said I'm here for you and the barber said I'll cut you're next. Oh, I counted 6 barbers me four were cutting hair. read more

Definitely not walk-in friendly. I walked in, wasn't really greeted, no one asked any information of me, and I sat for a couple of hours before giving up and walking out. Customers continued to roll in after me, and be seen before me, and without any acknowledgement of the fact that I was there and had been waiting on a barber. The only reason I left more than one star is because there's a possibility I could've been seen more quickly had I made an appointment prior. However, if you can't be seen without an appointment, then they should specify that. read more

New from NY, I called first to see if they did female cuts and they said to come right in. One barber went to the back assuming I was waiting for a Black barber. The Young man was already working on a special needs client. His father was taken next, which would make me then next in line. A third barber came from out of the back and they each took another client who supposedly had an appointment before me. After over an hour they asked who I was there to see? I said I called and whomever answered the phone and told me to come in. Out of the three of them, they each denied receiving the phone call. The nice looking one said "I can fit you in TOMORROW at noon". I said sure see you then and never went back! And the fat, unkept one in need of a cut and shave himself (at the first chair), had the nerve to make jokes like the customers are deaf and couldn't hear! Not sure about the quality of cuts but the barbers are rude, very unprofessional and not worth the extremely long and unnecessary wait. If I could give no stars I would. read more

Extremely unprofessional staff. I waited 43 minutes (with only one customer before me) while the barbers walked outside to talk. The lobby was dirty and unkempt. They say they offer military discounts, but only if you are military over 35 years of age. I did not wait any longer for a haircut so I can't comment on the quality of cuts. They say walk ins are welcome but when you walk in no one speaks to you, they completely ignore you. When you do ask if there are any slots available for walk ins you get a rude response " You just have to wait," that's from one of the barbers while the other three barbers available all say I only take appointments! It seems that the only way to get a haircut here is to have an appointment! They should not advertise that they take walk ins, instead they should say appointments only. As a person new to the area, this shop did not leave a great impression. After waiting 3 hours with not one of the barbers saying a word to us on how much longer the wait would be. Thanks to our next door neighbor, we came to K B Barber Shop to see Keenan Mason. He is an exceptional barber. You can tell he loves what he does with the quality of work he does and he's so fast! The shop is nice and so are the other barbers. They have specials on certain days and they are reasonably priced. The best time to go would be weekdays in the AM. Best Barber Shop in Augusta. Never had any problems with my haircut. I find weekday mornings are the best time to go. On Tuesdays you get 2 dollars off your cut. There are always 2 to 5 barbers on duty. If your looking for a good haircut this is the place to go! read more

This one was a bit tricky to rate, as the cut itself was quite good...but the service and speed of service- not-so-much. I got there and sat for about an hour, all the while watching people who walked in after me get helped before me, before Jay asked if anyone was waiting for a cut. I've been to barber shops like this back home, so i'm used to a bit of a wait. But there was no communication from the barbers along the lines of why people who walked in after me were getting cuts before me. Once I sat, Jay was pretty chill. Worked at a decent pace with minimal "barber shop stopping" and I was pretty satisfied with the cut. Not to mention it's a fair price, too. Overall, I guess I would come back. I usually cut my own hair, but for special occasions (like today), I leave it to someone whose not just gonna buzz my head in five minutes. I have called this shop and been told to come the next day. I have walked in and been told to come the next day. These guys are not flexible to the general public and the vibe in this shop does not speak customer service. I have never been to a barber shop like this where they don't take walk-ins....lazy!!! And where everyone comes off as rude. The owner appeared to be an older guy who you would think would know better by now. I took my business to Twisted Clippers at the mall. The guys were very friendly and we were out in 20 Minutes. Oh, and you can tell they are all there (at TC) to make money and provide customer service. KB should put a sign on the door "Appointments Only." Horrible business that needs lessons from Chic Fil A. Go to Twisted Clippers if you need a barber. The staff here are friendly and they take their time to ensure your cut is exactly how you want it. It's great to find a place that does fades so well. Keenan is one of the most intuitive and kid friendly barbers in the Augusta area. On numerous occasions I have seen him, with great care and consideration, cut the hair of children ages 6 and under. Amongst the other K&B barbers, he has been known to be called the "kid-whisperer" as he has demonstrated an uncanny ability to deal with-and tame-some of the most difficult and unruly child customers. I recommend that every potential customer give Keenan a chance to, not only show off his above average barber skills (fades, buzzcuts, specialty parts, faux hawks, ect.), but also bring your kids along for one of kind experience. I made the mistake of trying to get a quick cut at the PX on base and stopped by K&B in need of a fix. They were super busy, but had plenty of seats in the waiting area (a hint you should be prepared to wait a while) with a TV. All the barbers were talkative and friendly. The wait might be long on some days, but that just means business is booming and everyone in the greater CSRA just knows where to go to get a great haircut. If you have no patience just get with whichever Barber cuts your hair and they provide appointments wether it's via text message or the style seat app on your mobile device to reserve your seat so you can be in n out. Just got back from this place about an hour ago. Just to be clear, this review is not about the quality of haircuts. I didn't even get the chance to get one. I didn't want to be unfair so this is just my experience from this morning. I looked up a barber shop that had great reviews and was relatively close to where I live. I found this place and it was open around 9am. I just got off a 12 hour shift and wanted to get a quality haircut. I get to the barber shop around 9:30am and there was only 1 barber at the time. He told me that there were 3 people ahead of me but there was another barber that was going to be in soon so I decided to wait. They had a comfy couch and the tv was on so it wasn't too bad. After about an hour, there was still one barber and there were a couple people that have already gotten their haircuts. There was even a couple people that just came in and were seen before me. Not sure if they had appointments but it would've been nice to let me know. The other barber comes in around 10:40 and cuts a customers hair. He finishes about 11:00 and I figured that I would surely be next. But after he was done, he asked if anyone had the 11am appointment. He then proceeds to get on his phone and I could only assume that he attempts to call his 11am appointment. He steps outside and I just had to leave. I didn't want to make a scene, I've been there for about an hour and a half and I felt like I wasn't really treated like a customer. I can only guess it's because I'm not a regular? Again, I'm not rating on the quality of haircuts they provide. I'm sure it would've been great but I didn't even get to the barber's chair. I'm from South Carolina and just moved to the Augusta area and needed to find a good barber. I was willing to drive an hour and forty five minutes back to my home town but decided to give KB barber shop a chance. I was very happy with my hair cut and so was my wife. The barbers were very friendly and made me feel right at home. The fade on my hair cut was very clean as well as the tape up. And they cut both whites and blacks hair very well. NEVER OPEN ON TIME! Door reads 9am to 7pm. I arrived at 9:15am. I gave the benefit of the doubt that it's Monday and people usually drag a bit on Monday mornings but I sat outside a whole hour waiting for this place to open. I called the number listed for this place several times to find out what's going on or if they were even opening. No response of course. This same situation happened last week when I came here as well instead somebody out of the 6 people waiting with me had the personal number of the one of the barbers, and he finally mentioned he wasn't going to be there until 2pm! because he was at a game. That's fine but my thing is LEAVE A NOTE OR SOME SORT OF NOTICE THAT YOURE NOT OPENING! Be a professional and don't waste people's time. Very inconsiderate, unprofessional place.
