11/28/23 *Part 3 Of 3* AFTER THE MASSAGE: After the show it's the after party,  Yet I never made it that far.  Then after the party it's the hotel lobby, But I have a  Yelp report to write, so shi... Oh, enough of the fun and games.  Tina  did a fantastic job for a newbie at QI Massage  in the business center of K&H Massage   There are a few problems that I will have to address, but they have nothing to do with Tina's massage performance or massage techniques.   1.  I did notice that during my massage, the music selections were of one song played over and over again.  I would have preferred no music be played in this case.  When I return here, I will request this. 2. I  happened to use the sheet that would normally cover my fatass, and used it to cover the table.  I did not see Tina complete the changing of the sheets, but I do hope she did this.   I am NOT saying she DIDN'T, I am just say it looked like straightening the sheets was all she did.  Also, Tina's English is still in the beginninger's stage, but she is working hard on improving her Grammer and English Language skills.  Please be patient on this...she is trying. 3.  I do recommend  K&H Massage do get a credit card machine up and running.   Walking back and forth between the two businesses can get annoying for some clientele.  Aside from those three things I noticed, my experiences with K&H Massage aka QI Massage. Kelly did my massage. She had no massage technique at all. Just applied lotion. Plus they charge you extra 4$ if paying by credit card. They expect good tips even though the massage is sub par. Was able to get an appointment on short notice on a Sunday. Had Kelly as my therapist - I really needed a deep sports massage due to some serious weight training. Kelly was beyond excellent. She worked my back and rest of my body to the exact brink of enough pressure to make a difference, but not in pain. She used all sorts of techniques and you can tell she's trained in the exact motions and movements and directions. As a heads up, the place accepts credit cards, but they charge you an extra $4, which the girl on the phone didn't tell me when I booked and asked if they took CC. Also this is definitely no frills, so don't expect a warm massage bed and plush blankets and towels. But for the price, it's unbeatable. I'll definitely be back to ask for Kelly! read more

I used to work full time in Vienna and would come here regularly. When I went to full-time telework, I got fewer massages and would go to places closer to the house. Yesterday, I went back after 8 months and got a 90 minute massage from Kelly, my favorite. It was incredible - I can't believe I stayed away so long. She is both firm and gentle, incorporating stretching and hot stones. And she is so responsive - adjusting to what I like / don't like. And she remembers - amazing! One small example: I often get cold during massage - when I came into the room, she had the space heater all set up and running. And Catholin is the manager and the heart of things - also very good at massage. I've been to a lot of different massage places, looking for the right balance of quality and cost. K and H is not the cheapest - nor are they the most expensive - but in my opinion, they are the best. The bottom line for me is that K and H Massage has heart. They are good, kind, hard-working people. I am lucky to have found them. read more

We were visiting from out of town and decided to get a massage here. I called to book a prenatal massage. Therapiat told me to come by at 1:30. I Arrived about five minutes before my appointment and had to wait at least 10 minutes. The therapist Catholin was nice but unprofessional. She took phone calls on her cell several times while she was in session with me and even stepped out twice to answer calls outside. The massage was so mediocre it felt like I was just getting lotion put on. She refused to do deeper pressure because of being pregnant but I assured her it was fine since I get physical therapy regularly which uses deeper pressure plus, as a physician I am well aware of any risks or harm to the fetus which massage doesn't really pose. Still she would not use deeper pressure. And she didn't even touch my feet! After the massage she offered me luke warm water in a styrofoam cup. When I handed her my credit card and told her how much to add, she started rambling off that she will get charged 4%. I told her I had never heard that and that I used my credit card everywhere and business didnt upcharge me. She then proceeded to tell me since I was a first time customer she wouldn't charge me to 4%. What a waste of time and money. I left there feeling unrelieved and upset. Really good combination trigger point/hot stone/deep tissue massage. I was having back issues and was really happy with the massage and felt much better after. The reason I docked a star is they are cash only. I had read earlier reviews and thought it was maybe cash only for tips or an inconvenience fee, but they don't except anything but cash. For a $70 massage + tip, I wasn't able to cover it with the cash I had. I had to go out and hunt around in the rain for 20 minutes to find an ATM. I think they should warn people about being cash only because it really soured my experience at the end of what had been a really stellar massage. read more

I get a massage every week and sometimes when my regular massage therapist is out of town, I need to find an alternative. K&H is at the top of my list. Here is what I like about K&H: - They walk on your back. There is a different level of pressure that you are able to achieve when a person steps on your. There are actual bars on the ceiling for them to hold onto or push down from while they massage your back. - They use hot stones (no extra cost). If you are tight, they will pull them out and use them to loosen your muscles. You don't even have to ask. - The hot towel warmer is in the massage room. At some places, the therapist has to leave the room to get the hot towel - Angelina and Catholin are small but they both pack a punch! Pound for pound, they are two of the strongest therapists out there. They also both speak English. At many of the Chinese joints, the therapists don't understand you and they are weak. Not so here at K&H - They always pick up the phone and are mostly always available for a walk in There are days when I can barely walk in there (back and leg pain - knots over knots over knots) and then walk out feeling like a champ. I've been here multiple times and have never been disappointed. read more

I don't like this place because the masseuses demand tips. And they demand certain amounts. I provide tips that I think reflect the quality of service. Angelina kept going in and out of the room and taking calls during my massage. On another occasion, Wiwi did the same thing also demanded a certain amount for tip. To be quite honest it was not a relaxing environment. The massage is good, but all of the interruptions along with a poor attitude and entitled tone turns me off. Low business IQ in this place. If you fight with your clients for tips, those clients will likely not return. Plenty of other Asian masseuses in town! I'd say look for another place for a relaxing couple of hours I appreciate the owners response, but this isn't a miscommunication issue. The staff do not want to process payments without the tip amount that they want. Plus, they charge $5.00 if you pay with a credit card. No one else in the area does that. I would advise that the owner make it a rule that the staff never asks for tips, and they are content with what they are given. I would say Angelina has the worst attitude. Wiwi is much nicer, but still demands a tip. read more

My friend and I called after 6 pm to ask if they were available and were able to walk in literally 10 mins later. After 6 hours of traveling I had knots all over my neck back and legs. Had a great deep tissue massage with hot stones and stretching- The pressure Katy applied was strong but controlled. Very professional and made sure I was not in pain. I felt very comfortable with her. Only downside was if all of them are busy and someone walks in then one of them has to interrupt the massage and walk out to greet the new customer. This place is horrible!! Truly unclean and disorganized. We came in for a couples massage, asking for two women. After we undressed and laid under some dirty towels they tell us they don't have two women. Fine, but waiting until we are naked was not cool. Then a crappy massage ensues. Cold room and flimsy towel to cover ourselves. My masseuse was walking in and out and in the room which made for very disturbing experience. Then a back walk, which would have been fine but the women takes off my towel and with her dirty feet (she was walking all over the place) is on my bare skin. She even put her feet on my neck and inner hands/palms. I couldn't wait to wash afterwards. After we finish, they had the audacity to demand a tip. I paid the $140 dollars for a 60 min massage, which is already inflated. They kept saying I must pay a tip which pissed me off. I told them to say thank you because it was a bad massage and I didn't even want to pay the $140 and walked out. Never ever ever go to this dump. read more

I've gotten massages from at least 50 different masseuses locally and from lots of other areas and all sorts of services like Soothe and upscale places like Red Door but she's literally the best of the best of them all. I make it a point of going once a week . She knows exactly how much pressure to use to the point where you can tolerate it but also sets you up for maximum healing. This is going to be a long, detailed review so give yourself some time and sit back for some useful reading here. My situation: My back and neck had been locked up for months. A combination of stress, a sagging mattress and sitting at a desk or in a car were taking its toll and I was in constant discomfort to the point that now I wasn't even sleeping at night for the previous month because the chronic tightness in my back was making it impossible to sleep peacefully. It was only getting worse and after wasting time and effort to see chiropractors who had only made marginal improvements (just an FYI: joints go out of alignment, sublux, etc because of muscle strength/tension imbalances or trauma. In this case, it was the chronic muscle tension that I was having difficulty finding anyone competent enough to address adequately). On a recent trip, I found K & H, purely by circumstance. My back had reached such epic proportions of discomfort that I couldn't take another minute of ignoring it and started looking for massage services nearby while I had some down time on my trip. K & H was down the street, they were available, the intro price was worth taking a risk on them AND I couldn't spend another minute dealing with this aching back so there I went, as soon as they said I could come in. Based on my past experiences with massage therapists near home, my expectations and hopes for this massage were not very high but "any port in a storm", right? The first thing you should know (and will soon realize) is that this is not your standard Western "pamper me" massage or "deep tissue" style massage. This is so much better than that. This is a combination of Thai, Ashiatsu, Hot Stone, Swedish, Deep Tissue and more and it IS intense. There were a few moments when I thought I was going to cry but that is because I AM so tight that anyone actually finding those trigger point areas and applying any pressure at all was like trying to get a rusted hinge to move. She found and worked on places that I didn't realize were the source of OTHER problems until I realized how tight they were too (example: my tendon attachments for my calf were so tight I wanted to scream when she put the least bit of pressure on them and I suddenly remembered all those times my calves would get fatigued just walking my dog around the block and realized that THIS was why! Needless to say, they feel great now thanks to her). The Massage: My massage consisted of a combination of walking on my back Ashiatsu style, stretching me with Thai yoga postures, hot stone massage and also applying deep tissue while finding all sorts of places that had been problematic for the longest time (that I had forgotten about because they were eclipsed by my current back and neck discomfort). And man, she is strong! I swear I will never understand how such a tiny woman can have finger and hand strength that would rival any industrial vice grip! Results: The entire reason I am writing this review is this. My back issues were finally resolved and a few days later, I still feel better than I have in a long time in ALL the areas that were giving me problems (neck, hip, elbow, etc) for so long now. If you are looking for real therapy, this is the place to go. I can't recommend it enough and I am only sad that they aren't closer to me. I am literally arranging a trip to return to the area so I can put them in my schedule next time. THIS is real therapeutic work. Who I am: I have been a professional massage therapist for 15+ years and am trained and/or specialize in medical massage and a number of other modalities including Thai, Keralite, Mayan Abdominal, Lymphatic, etc, - so yes, my standards might seem higher because of this, but ONLY because I can tell when someone is trying to sell me a load of exaggerated claims disguised as competence in a therapist. For me, entirely too many massages I have had either feel like I just paid $65 or more for a suntan oil application or I am dealing with someone who wouldn't know the location of their gemellus superior from their pectoralis minor. Yikes! **** They are fluent in English but it is STILL their second language so the onus of burden is on you, the _native_ English speaker, to communicate and tell them if something is too intense, you need them to be more gentle in an area, etc. (Anyone who has ever tried to learn a 2nd language can tell you that figuring out which adjective is better to use to describe something IS a complicated process that isn't automatic. Work with her and you'll get the best massage you can ask for!)**** (1) This massage is not for the faint of heart or those looking for "pamper me" massages. (2) Expect discomfort in direct proportion to the level of your body's current neglected state, followed by improvement!!! Today is my first time trying this place because a friend highly recommended it. My shoulder was hurting a lot and I can barely turned my head without hurting my neck. I was very surprised and impressed by the therapist done by this place. They know exactly how to massage me and hit the right spots.
