STAY AWAY!! If you care about your home and your roof DO NOT go to Kurt! He is a FRAUDSTER a liar and a cheat. We used to think Kurt was a great guy until he showed his true colours. He pretends to be a funny likeable guy but he is utterly dishonest! Kurt told us that his work was guaranteed for the life of the house and that set us at ease. We paid him his quote for $4000 but when there were leaks all over he denied any culpability, told us "it's an old house" and simply LIED! That "warranty guarantee for the life of the home" he no longer acknowledged. He is FRAUD. And, he totally Ghosted us! We are retired and had to dip into social security in order to pay for this repair. I also now know that he is only bonded for $25,000 which can be the cost for just one person's roof repair. And this means that if he has damaged as many homes as I believe that he has then he is not fully covered when he gets to your home. Last year for preventative measures we hired Kurt's firm whom we thought was a good skilled roofing outfit. We had a couple old leaks from years ago that we'd been meaning to take care of. We also thought the upcoming rains might create possibly more leaks and it had been some years since a roofer touched that area of the roof. Kurt came out and did the work in two areas before rain season. Then the rains came and we reached out to Kurt to let him know his work caused leaks in areas we never had leaks before. Instead of two small minor leaks we had more than six in every area that his men touched. Mind you he said he would be present for the job but then took off and left his hired men who were very angry at him to complete the job. Kurt would NOT answer our texts. He totally ghosted us for months!! We were desperate for him to respond and be professional. Each time he refused to answer our pleas and calls the rains kept worsening our leaks until by then it was Niagra Falls in our home!! We put out buckets and bins to catch the massive areas that were leaking and warping our plaster, wood panelling and ceiling. Our beautiful home was destroyed. After more than six months of him putting us off to come out and check his work he agreed to look at the smallest section. He repeatedly claimed it was not his mistake but when his crewman climbed up and pulled back the tiles he displayed a massive tear or rather hold in the paper that they lined our roof with. Kurt chuckled and said okay he would repair the smallest room but he flatly refused to do the larger more extensive job which had caused the most extensive damage. We explained to him that his crew went to the roofline and only after they did the work did we get leaks there. We also said that if one sheet of paper had holes then logic would suggest that in using this same paper of course it stands to reason that there were holes with the other paper they used. But he flatly refused to even look at it and confirm there were holes. When he initially did the repair the first time we heard him tell his guys to go up to the roofline when they asked how far. He firmly told us, to do a good job you have to go up to the roofline. When we explained there was never any damage to our home like this before he entered our lives he LIED through his teeth and denied that he ever said to go up to the roofline essentially calling us liars. So here we are a year later and Kurt still refuses to do the honourable thing and correct his shoddy work. Instead he wants to go boating and take other people's money! So I say again...STAY AWAY FROM THIS HORRID CROOK. I CAN PROMISE YOU THAT HE WILL DESTROY YOUR HOME AS HE HAS DONE TO OURS. read more

Kurt is amazing- a saint! If you need a roofer, he is honest and kind! My husband and I got several quotes from roofers to repair a couple shingles and fill flashings- that's it. Two places quoted us over $1500 just for that. Outrageous. One place even tried to say the roof was installed wrong... we just moved in and had an inspection so we know the roof is good. This was the only issue with it as stated in the report and we were trying to start off on the right foot in this house and get all the minor things done on the inspection report. Just to avoid larger issues later. Anyway, Kurt came by to look, was on my roof 10 minutes, came down and said everything was done and fixed and I owed him nothing! He said the roof looked great and filling the flashing and fixing the couple of shingles was easy and took no time. He wouldn't let me pay him. He also gave us tips on a few things to do ourselves every few years to keep the roof kept up. He said we still have another 25-30 years on this roof, which was nice to hear when others lied and said something about it was wrong. My wife and I purchased our home with a roof in sub-par condition. Kurt provided an estimate during the inspection process that assisted us in getting a little credit for the work during closing. After spending a few months saving, we revisited working with Kurt and he honored the quote he had written up for us. We got the project on the calendar and he and his crew showed up on time each day and made quick work of the project. He made a couple additional recommendations of a solar fan in the attic and an air duct above the garage to keep the attics cooler and not roast the shingles from the inside out. He was very transparent about the pricing for the additional work which we agreed to. I got up on the roof after they were done to take a look around. I went into the attic and could see where they replaced and patched some damaged plywood. The finishing work was excellent. They also cleaned up our property at the end of each day which is really appreciated, especially considering how much material was removed to do the job. I needed a roofer for a client in May 2021. They gave me Kurt's number, I called and got the wife. They were on a boat somewhere, she asked me to call back Monday (which I did). I gave the address, they said they would check it out and call me back. 3 weeks later, nothing. So I call again. On vacation again, could I call them back the following week? Sure, no problem. I call back, give the address, again crickets. I try again in July, send the address by text at their request a few minutes later, they say "who is this?". I explain, and wait another few weeks. This goes on a while. Here it is October. So, I did try to hire them, thought I actually did hire them, and apparently I didn't hire them. Like the Twilight Zone. Other reviews on here are pretty good, so not sure what the disconnect is. I do remember cannabis is legal now, maybe that has something to do with it? Three weeks after moving into our home this past December us Ventura residents received our first heavy rain in years. On the second day of rain, we woke up to the rainwater dripping in the bedroom. Someone was looking on Facebook for a recommendation for a roofer. A few people listed K&H Roofing so I checked out his reviews on Yelp and they were spot on. I called Kurt and he set up an appointment for the following morning at 8am and he was there at exactly 8am. Took a look at the roof and determined that the leak was most likely from around the chimney and also the valley where the water drains off the roof. In great detail he told me what he was going to do to remedy the problem and he'd get back to me later in the week with a date to repair the issues. He called on Thursday to drop off supplies and set up the repair for Friday morning.
