Atlas Roofing is truly the best! If you need any roof work--big or small--ask for Michael. He is incredibly professional, patient, and takes the time to walk you through every detail so you know exactly what's going on. I had a small roof leak that we discovered while fixing our AC ducts. I called Atlas Roofing, and Michael came out personally, went up on the roof, and quickly located the source of the leak. He gave me a very reasonable price. I had consulted several local roofing companies, and honestly, no one could beat his price. At first, I was a little skeptical because the price was really good--but we were on a very tight budget. After seeing Atlas Roofing's excellent reviews on Yelp and Google, I decided to give them a try. I'm so glad I did. The team came the following week, and the job was completed in just one day. They fixed the leak, replaced damaged plywood and underlayment, sealed all pipes and exposed nails, and install a small gutter. The quality of their work was EXCELLENT. They also took photos and videos throughout the process to show exactly what was done, which I really appreciated. These days, it's hard to find a company that delivers high-quality, professional work at a fair and affordable price--but Atlas Roofing absolutely does. I highly recommend giving them a call. You won't regret it.

ATLAS ROOFING IS EXCELLENT We experienced pure professionalism, and we witnessed our roof transform in two days because of skill, impeccable work ethics, and knowledge about all options and avenues that could be pursued with our unique circumstances. Cinzia Fabrizi was honest, clear and concise and absolutely outstanding from the beginning to the end of our roofing needs with Atlas Roofing-- such a superstar in the industry, we know we got lucky by finding Cinzia and Atlas Roofing. They put the right people in place and gave great instructions which ended up much better than we could have imagined. We had a difficult case with antique tile and they managed to find a solution without charging anything extra and literally saved us thousands of dollars compared to other estimates we got prior to meeting Cinzia. We sincerely and highly recommend Atlas Roofing to anyone in Los Angeles-- and we thank Atlas Roofing for hiring such hard working, experienced, and truly kind people to their team. Cinzia Fabrizi, thank you for everything you did to keep our home protected and dry for this winter and our future years under this roof-- it was a pleasure to work with you. We are 100% satisfied and thankful.

DO NOT HIRE. Paid for a Tear-Off, Got a Cover-Up I hired Berry Edry (Atlas Roofing) in 2023 for a complete roof replacement. My contract explicitly required "removal of all existing roofing materials down to the roof plywood/deck." The Breach: After persistent leaks and water damage (ceilings, walls, electrical damage), and Berry's multiple failed repair attempts over two years, I discovered during his last repair, in October 2025 that Berry never removed the old roofing, edge tiles or flashing. He simply installed the new material right over the old rotting roof and up to the edge tiles and old flashing (which is now causing water intrusion and rot on the edges). The underlayment lapping was installed backwards allowing water to seep under and he did not waterproof the ridges, putting the ridge tiles over wood. He also spaced the clay tiles too wide to save money on materials, leaving large gaps throughout which became a major fire risk. The work was extremely sloppy. When I confronted him about the defective work, Berry told me I was "too picky" and dismissed my complaints - even though the roof was leaking and causing serious damage. His October repair failed too - the roof still leaked in the last rains. The "Closed Business" Lie: When I sent a formal demand letter in November 2025, Berry told me "Atlas Roofing was no longer in business" and ghosted me. The Atlas website currently displays Berry prominently as the owner, but now shows different license numbers (that are no longer under his name according to CSLB records). Total damages: Nearly $100,000 to redo the roof properly and repair interior damage. I have filed a formal complaint with the CSLB. Do not trust this contractor.

Their proposal was very competitive, and what really stood out was that Moshe took the time to explain that his bid included services that other roofing companies had excluded from their proposals. There were no surprises, just honest, transparent pricing and excellent value. The team started the project on the exact day they committed to and finished exactly when they promised. Throughout the job, they were professional, organized, and kept the work moving efficiently. What impressed me the most was their willingness to go above and beyond to coordinate with my HVAC contractor. They accommodated the removal and reinstallation of the rooftop AC units without hesitation, helping keep the entire project on schedule. I couldn't be happier with the quality of their work, their professionalism, and their commitment to customer service. I highly recommend Moshe and the entire Top Roofing team and will absolutely use them again on future projects.

I bought my house in Sherman Oaks in 1997 and while I was out of town on work for a couple months…read moreshortly after moving in, El Nino hit. Fortunately, my garage (which was storing much of what I had that wasn't in the house) was the only thing that suffered damage, Unfortunately, most of my mementos were destroyed. I reroofed, and now almost 30 years later, with rumors are that El Nino is making a return visit, I thought (since we had suffered minor leaks during some of the recent rains) it was time to reroof, so I put Yelp to work to find me some people to interview. I picked five for the information I could glean, asking few questions, since I knew opening my mouth connected to a brain that knows little about roofing, would be a bad idea and also seeing if people were helpful with their explanations. Everyone (maybe except one) was personable enough for me to think I could work with them, but much of the information was kinda the same thing (although I noted some improvements in roofing since 97 that were useful to ask each about). The prices were more or less the same, and close enough that I knew I could find a point that would be roughly around the general price for them all, so it wasn't money. It was rapport and ultimately who gave me the greatest sense of trust. And. I learned, information that no one else told me. Roy, with Top Roofing was the ONLY one of the five that I saw who discussed the solar pool heating on my roof with me; each of the people I met with went on the roof. Not one other person mentioned it, and if you have solar panels on the roof - it's a consideration in doing the job. When I called the others who'd come to the house to say I'd made my choice and asked why I picked someone else I told them this - it was determinative that one person told me this was a job that needed to be done in addition to the roofing. He hooked me up with a solar heating company, he'd worked with before and I got on the phone with them and felt reasonably satisfied that between them and Roy it would get done on time, on budget. (It's not a small add-on to have them remove and reinstall the works, so if this affects you, be warned). Roy stayed in touch with me throughout - He came by and we spoke on phone daily. We had agreed that in the cost we he would completely replace and repaint a tongue-and-groove porch which was pretty rotted out) and aside from some permit forms I had to fill out, gave me a date of less than a week every date was kept. His crew was punctual, and so neat - the pool was covered, they cleaned up each of the five days they worked. Roy walked the yard with me before they started so I could make sure my gardener trimmed where he needed to, then walked it again, to tell me where we might need to keep trimming. He touched base with me every day, and when it was over gave me a video of the roof (both the main house and the garage were reroofed), and the porch which looked haggard now looks beautiful. I can't say enough about what a positive experience this was. And it looks really good. And since the last time I put on a roof, the tile now cools down the exterior which is good to have in an LA summer. The roof is up, the solar heating is back in operation. Let's go. A roof is an expensive proposition, and I think it's ok to know little if you hire someone you believe in (and, I'll admit, test out a little bit at the onset), who speaks to you in a way that is helpful and doesn't overwhelm you, but I think this was an incredibly positive experience in terms of labor, cleanliness, schedule and most importantly communication. I think that if you meet with a number of roofers, you will agree with me. I highly recommend...

From the start, communication was poor. They repeatedly blamed permitting and city hall for delays, promising the permit was "always around the corner" and that we'd be first up once the new year started -- that never materialized on time. When heavy rains hit in mid-January and the leak was getting worse, I pushed them to tarp the roof in the meantime. They tarped the wrong unit of our duplex. The tarp was also done so poorly it was flying off the roof, and our tenant's unit continued to leak throughout. By mid-February they still hadn't broken ground, this time blaming the rainy season. Work only started after I pushed them again. Once the project was underway, the original estimate ballooned -- they came back asking for roughly $1,000 more for the solar work and additional roofing costs. We paid what we felt was fair and moved forward. The final straw: after they issued a "final invoice" and we paid it in full -- believing we were done -- they came back asking for an additional $3,250. They apologized for "any inconvenience" as if it were a scheduling mix-up, not a failure to communicate thousands of dollars in charges before issuing a closing invoice. The roof work itself may be fine, but the experience getting here was exhausting. Constant runaround, poor follow-through, a botched tarp job that made our tenant's situation worse, and financial surprises at every turn. We would not recommend or use them again.

Spencer from DLS Development gave a great pitch, plus the quote was one of the lowest we received from almost all roofing companies. They reached out over a month later to check in and offer an additional discount. Pros: The workers did an excellent job and worked from nearly sunup to sundown. They had a few questions, which I could answer (or get my husband to answer) when I was around. It took about 4 days for them to tear off the old shingles and install the new ones. And it was hot out there! They did the work quickly, professionally, and efficiently! One of the crew members performed a walk-through with my husband once they finished, and my husband was very pleased with the finished product. I feel very grateful looking at my roof now, since the old one was very old. Cons Once we signed the contract and paid the initial deposit, we were told that the permit for our house needed to be pulled and that it would take about a week. Almost two weeks later, I asked the project manager if she had pulled the permit and when the project could begin. She then let me know the roofers would begin the following week. I guess I hoped that the project manager would have reached out to me first to let me know that the permit situation was complete and that they would begin the roofing process. You need to take initiative and find out what's happening, since I've never had a roof replaced before. Next, the project manager informed us they discovered and replaced rotted wood. The project manager sent us a change order for the additional amount, yet the contract did not list any extra charge for rotted wood. Additionally, they had already replaced the "rotted wood" before we signed anything, and they had no clear photos showing any rotted wood. It took a lot of emails and texts back and forth before we reached a resolution we were happy with. Still, it was a headache and frustrating for several days; we had to deal with uncertainty and explanations. Finally, the project manager never confirmed when the inspector for the last inspection would actually come to our house to collect my signature on a form. We didn't know whether we needed to be at home, leave the document out somewhere, or when the process would officially end. I received an email from the project manager asking me to reply and attach the form with my signature, as the inspector had come around but could not collect it because I was not there. I replied to the email with the form and asked the project manager if I needed to do anything else. Only when I reached out again to the general DLS development general email was I told what day the inspector would come around again to collect the form. We're thrilled with the roof and the quality of work, but it would've been less of a headache to have a lot of this information up front without having to keep asking, since I'm unfamiliar with the roof process. I also had to email the general DLS development email, as the project manager was not responding to some questions and concerns as quickly as I would've liked. I know she probably had a million things going on, but it felt like I got a response much quicker once I emailed through the general company email. This was not a cheap project, and I feel like this company lacks clear communication, but their workers and work are absolutely outstanding.

*Would Hire Again*…read more [Project Scope] Re-roof on a one story single family house, including new underlayment, drip edge, composite shingles, plus sheathing repairs and ventilation updates. FWIW, in my line of work we nit-pick over details & craftsmanship. I bring those expectations--for better or worse--to maintaining my house. Unsurprisingly, I tend to find some level of fault with any contractor. [Communication] The project manager (Danny) and front office (Melissa) were quick to answer the many questions I had via email, text, and phone. They were patient while I took my time selecting a contractor. They also coordinated directly with my solar contractor so the rooftop PV system was off the roof for no longer than necessary. The PM was out briefly each day to check the work and collect payment. [Availability] I didn't need the work done urgently, but Smart Roofing did start work within two weeks of signing the contract and finished within 3 days. [Warranty] One reason I chose this company was their standing as Owens Corning Platinum Preferred, which gets a workmanship warranty backed by Owens Corning (except the solar penetrations in our case), should the contractor ever go out of business. [Workmanship] Crews (separate tear-off and install) were on-time, respectful, and cleaned up each day. Overall, the work appears to be done well, though I'm no roofer. The way some of the holes in the roof were cut and flashings set did seem to be rushed, but so far it's watertight and that's what matters. The original sheathing had large gaps, which I asked to be fixed, although they may have done so without my asking, that wasn't communicated one way or another. They handled the addition of an exhaust vent flashing, relocation of a vent flashing, and removal of an unused vent flashing as per my request. [Issues] At some point, the furnace b-vent was pushed into the attic, breaking an elbow inside the attic. I ended up getting the part and doing the repair myself. Similar as well with the water heater b-vent: it was pushed down and crushed a section, but wasn't caught by the crew. Plus, the vent was reset at an angle so it's now pressed up against the house. Finally, while cleanup went fairly well, there was still trash and a few handfuls of nails scattered throughout the property, roof, and gutters--a small complaint and probably par for the course. Slightly-related... at no point did a Simi Valley building inspector come onto our property. For both inspections, a truck appeared across the street, yet no one got out. No looking at the back of the roof, no rooftop inspection, no check that sheathing was sound and work done correctly. What a joke, that $560 payment to the city. Thanks, Danny and crew, for the work!
