I first went there because my internet search for a faucet stem said they were the only ones within 50 miles that had it in stock. A very nice store clerk steered me in the right direction. What a great selection I found. Not just the part I wanted, but so much more. I went back yesterday hoping to find a stem extension that I could not find anywhere on the internet. I approached a clerk and asked, and he took me right to it. I explained that the replacement kit I purchased on line did not fit quite the same as the one I am replacing. He told me of its compatibility with another more "readily available" line of faucets. He seemed to know a lot about plumbing. It turns out he is the owner. He and everyone I have dealt with there are very approachable, helpful, and knowledgeable. This is now my go to store for all my DIY projects. Their selection is remarkable and the staff just seem to enjoy their job. It is 20 miles from home, but it is exactly what needs to be. I'll admit that I don't understand exactly how this little hardware store is both Ace and K & L. It has a big box name with a mom and pop feel. Employees don't feel "corporately trained"... in a good way. Surprising how much they fit into a relatively small space! I took a lot of pics for reference or I'd be here all day describing the variety. Favorite unique offerings include: - Bins of loose nails and screws that are so visually satisfying to look at! - Ability to make new car keys. - Old timey lanterns with oil and everything next to jam jars and such for canning. - Local sketch art on the walls as decor. - A vintage (in a not-on-purpose way) 7Up vending machine. read more

Now this is the kind of service I love! They have a service desk where you can walk up and someone is waiting there to help you. I showed them a picture of the issue I had and they were able to walk me to the aisle and help me pick out the part and even showed me what tools to use. This is absolutely amazing service! I will no longer ever go to Home Depot. This will be my new place to stop for all my household needs. They also have my favorite candy bar homestyle pecan bar. It's so good! It melts in your mouth. Though this is a small store they have a good selection of products. They have pickup ordering. But it's confusing. On the website it tells you to go to customer service at the back of the store. Then they walk you back to the front of the store to get your item. Then you have to wait in line to sign for the already paid item. It shouldn't take that much time. Other than that the customer service is good returns are easy, if necessary. The prices seem to be in line with other hardware stores. read more

K and L hardware is a small shop but it's also an Ace Hardware distributor. They sale a bunch of Ace Hardware stuff here. It's a small mom and pop shop with super friendly employees. The store is well maintained and a lot of great prices. The only bad thing is that they close at 5pm. Other than that no complaints. read more

Can't recommend enough! Sales staff is friendly and very nice. Brian Harris is extremely knowledgeable and goes out of his way to help with any problem. He has saved me a ton of money on avoiding calling in service techs to fix my A/C unit on two separate occasions. Got me what I needed and walked me through step by step to install/replace parts. Cheaper than dealer on key fobs and cheaper than repair companies on parts. Even cheaper than Amazon was on the A/C parts. Without his help would been out a couple thousand bucks easily. K & L Hardware stands out as a gem among all the big, impersonal warehouse hardware stores (i.e. Home Depot and Lowe's) that exist in the area. Located on the border of Highland and San Bernardino, its been, pardon the pun, a fixture of the area for 30 years now. You can find almost anything and everything you may want or need here for home projects, building, repair and gardening. The place itself is nowhere NEAR the size of the larger places. Its pretty modest. But that means that everything is easy to find! No looooooong hallways of this and that to get lost in while all yer looking for is a wrench or something. Their selection of items is very decent for a building of its size - and the variety is excellent too. What also stands out are their employees. They are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. This place harkens back to the friendly old town hardware stores of yesteryear. They even have fairly good lumber selection in the back. Their prices are also quite fair. My only small complaint is that they don't have a large enough Flower/Garden section. They have a nice selection of garden tools and the like - but what I mean are plants and flowers. Then again, the size of the place is a bit limiting to such things. Still - if you live in or are in the area - give em a try. They are an ACE hardware store affiliate, and keeping quality local businesses alive and thriving is something I strongly believe in. read more

I am so glad these folks haven't been squeezed out by big guys. It is pricier than Home Depot, but you are paying for true knowledge about what they sell. They know what they are doing and have great advice so you walk out knowing what you are doing too--and you are in and out in a flash, Time is money. Only one time did they not have what I wanted, and it turns out I didn't really need it. Instead of a new valve they sold me a washer and told me how to fix it. This is a small neighborhood hardware store. It has lots of stuff jammed into a small space. For most of my repair jobs they have the items. The help is what makes this place worth the few extra cents. I went in yesterday needing 4 bolts with nuts. Annette measured the screw that I had brought in as an example and got me the size bolts and nuts that I needed. You might pay a little more, but you can get assistance and you can get in and out in a minute. read more

I have visited this store a handful of times and everytime it's such a pleasant experience. From the very competitive prices (for being a smaller store) to the extremely helpful and very nice staff. I came in today(05/20/2018) for a few items to finish some maintenance around the house and a staff member asks if I needed help, which I did, He pointed me in the right direction and even brought me one of the items I needed. That goes a long way when You have bad knees and have to use a cane to get walk around, so I appreciate the extra help. I went in here to upgrade the shut off valves and hoses for a bathroom sink. The valve I brought in for the hot water had about 30 years of corrosion on it, and the nut had disintegrated when I removed it from the countertop. I seriously thought I would need to replace it. Norm, the manager, asked if there was anything wrong with it other than the corrosion on the threads. It was fine other than that. Norm cleaned it up, and got all of the remaining metal that corroded onto the threads off!! He worked on it for about 10-15 minutes and it looked like new!
