This place is an absolute joke. I contacted YELP admin to inquire if a zero-stars rating was an option, but it apparently isn't, so they're getting WAY more stars than they deserve from my experience. Overpriced, cheap ingredients food and abysmal "service" that really shouldn't be called "service" because it barely exists. If you're in the mood to be insulted, not just by the servers, but by the food and the prices, then you have found your restaurant. I had the steak dillon or dillon steak. It was a perfectly made tender steak wrapped in bacon. Also had some fried calamari for appetizer which was large strips, not bad. The service was very friendly. They had a pretty full bar, wines, beers, liquors. Nice and cozy front area with leather couch, a little library. You can tell KB Dillion's might be an older place. They have an old school TV and a flat screen TV, some plate dishes that seemed beat up but clean, seats that were wearing down. It has a homey feel and look, they even have a cows skull hanging. There's a dart board, free wifi, and jager bomb fridays for $9. USA flag and many many photos of people over the years. read more

4 years of living in Farmington and I finally made it in here for a company Christmas party. Hmmm it was perfectly fine, but nothing special. I ordered a steak with a potato side. I will say the veggies were seasoned really well! Some places (coughtexasroadhousecough) apparently don't believe in seasoning veggies *insert Oprah meme here* but the steak and potato were good! But pretty standard. Solid. The inside decor is pretty dark and gloomy seeming. A little bit "country" I suppose. The service was..... a bit lacking... BUT! Is it possible to contract classlessness by simply sitting down in a restaurant bar? I dare you to go to KB Dillon's and find out. Immediately upon sitting down, one can feel the eyes of drunk men searching for a hint of cleavage, an exposed kneecap, or (jackpot!) a lower back tattoo. The dark ambiance brings to mind some combination of a dungeon, high school cafeteria, strip club, and the backside of a jock strap. The service is breathtakingly terrible - if there are more than two other patrons, I recommend ordering everything you may end up wanting at once as your interaction with a waitress or waiter will be like a long distance relationship in the Middle Ages. The reason I give KB Dillon's two stars instead of one is due to the fact that it is not a chain in a town full of franchises. the interior decor is okay. not the best or the worst. the server was awesome! he was probably the best part about our dinning experience! he did an awesome job going over the menu, making recommendations, and just checking on our needs. the dinner menu is basically salad, seafood, and steak. we ordered potato skins and they were good. my wife ordered a teriyaki steak and she said it was good. i ordered a large (12oz) ribeye with vegetables and rice for $30. i asked for my steak to be medium-well but it came out pretty close to well. the outside edges of my ribeye was good and moist. the center was very dry. my side salad was great. the complimentary bread was good. dinner for two adults was $70 before tip! the quality of steak does NOT match the price! i'm not sure if i would give K B Dillion's another try. read more

This used to be one of my favorite places but it needs help now. I even had my son's rehearsal dinner here 12 years ago but this place had really gone down hill. The waitress did the bar she could but the oil for the vinegar and oil was rancid. The steak special had bbq sauce and was nasty, the drink I always get was not made right and the steak had to be sent back because it wasn't cooked right. VERY disappointing for a $20 steak. It used to be one of the best restaurants in town but it has really gone down hill. I wonder if it even had a chef now as opposed to just a line cook. read more

I took two of my employees to this steakhouse for dinner. Full he expecting it to live up to its reputation, I was sorely disappointed. We ordered the clams casino as an appetizer. Very small tasteless and cold. One of my employees ordered the chicken Ranchero which came out looking pretty nice. My other associate ordered the New York strip which was perfectly cooked. For their dinners I cannot complain however, I ordered the salmon empapiote. Excuse after excuse was given as to why it was not ready when the other two meals were brought out to my team members. In the end my dinner came out after the check was presented. I had the waiter pack it up to go since everyone was ready to leave. I was however shocked to find no discount whatsoever on the bill As we left and walked past the waiter not even an acknowledgment thank you or come again was uttered. We will definitely not go back. In answer to the unasked question, no I did not ask to see the manager nor did I ask for the discount. If the establishment doesn't have enough professionalism to see what they're doing incorrectly I will choose just not to go back. read more

This place is outrageously expensive for barely mediocre food. If we had paid $20 instead of the $56 for one entree and one appetizer than I would have given it 3 stars and said mediocre food but a cool atmosphere, but I didn't. Oh and there is no free refills on the soda. They will charge you $2 a piece and not tell you until you see it on the bill. Way way over priced for mediocre food. We hadn't been in for years because the last time we were there whoever stands In That window to the bar stood there the whole time we were there complaining about her baby daddy. It was super annoying because she was talking very loud so the bartender could hear her. This time The steak was awesome but we were bummed out that when we ordered Blu cheese dressing they brought us pure mayonnaise, the server was brand new and when the manager asked him what was wrong with the salad she said "that's how we make it" pardon me ma'am but there wasn't even a hint of blu cheese in that mayo. I'm sure he served us someone's mayo for their burger. Also we asked if they still had the raspberry sauce with the calamari and were told "Yes" but they brought cocktail sauce. Once again we told the server the manager said "that's how we make it" ha sure wish she would have investigated those two things other than just assuming the were right. My coworker and I are visiting from California and we were wanting to try a good local spot for a steak. The first warning sign should haves been the warm draft beer that I was served. I ordered a sirloin steak medium well and my coworker ordered a rib eye medium rare, they came to the table reversed mine was medium rare and his was medium well, I chose to not send mine back however my coworker sent his back and explained that it was over cooked and he wanted it medium rare. When his steak came back it was cooked to well done and was the same steak he sent back, so he sent it back again to get it corrected and got back a steak that was literally gray in color and cold in the middle completely raw! I'm not sure how we weren't offered some sort of discount on the meal considering that I finished my meal before his was even ready. I would say pass on this place and maybe try a chain resturaunt for a steak in town where it may be more consistent. I am forced to give 1 star but I wouldn't give it one if it was an option. read more

We lived in Farmington nm 1993-1996. KB Dillion's had the very best green chili chicken soup in the world. It was totally awesome. I would give anything for the recipe. We live in CA now and they do not know squat about real hot Mexican food like in New Mexico. Their Mexican food is very bland. I would love a bowl of KB Dillon's chicken chile soup right now. This is an old steak house that has been around forever but I love it! Yes, it is dark and a little old fashioned but my rare filet is cooked to perfection every single time. The green chili soup is amazing and the horseradish is the hottest you will find in Farmington. Give this old place a try. We love it and it is always our go to for a special dinner out. read more

I used to go to this place A LOT before I moved to Colorado . Last night I came to town to see my family in a show at the college. After the show was over we wanted to all sit down , chat and enjoy each others company. Someone suggested KBs because there was live music and food. So my family and my friends family went sat down at KBs . We all ordered a drink ... My little sister was with us( now there were no 21 and over signs and NO ids were checked). My little sister ordered a Sprite and was with her/my parents . As we are all sitting enjoying each others conversation and company a clearly overserved regular came to our table and asked if we all wanted to see the tattoo he has on his butt cheek. After we all responded no, he pulled down his pants and exposed himself to me and my family and my friends family. I was pissed and disgusted and went to alert the bartender.... She did not do anything but laugh and tell him to stop. When we informed her he just exposed himself to an underage girl ... She came to the table and kicked us out for having her but let the drunk guy exposing himself stay. While he is yelling profanities at our group trying to pick a fight with my friends Father!!! She told us if we called the police that we would ALL get in trouble. I know the laws and my family is also part of law enforcement.... WE would not get in trouble.... The establishment would. So she is lucky we did not take it there. I am so disgusted and seriously upset about what happened last night! The night with my family was ruined and I along with my grown parents had to stare at a drunk mans ass cheek and he got to stay and drink more. After happening upon these comments about KB Dillon's, I feel compelled to make some comments. I am for the most part a life long resident of the Farmington area & I had the privilege of frequenting this establishment when it opened in the 1970s. It was the first really nice bar/restaurant of its kind in Farmington (it was called the Ore House in those days & was much smaller in size). This establishment was a wonderful addition to our community - a place to hang, have signature cocktails, nice dinners, great salad bar, etc. It was fresh & Inviting, even had a fireplace with seating around it. So very pleasant. It then became "Ogilvie's" for a time after which two young men named Kurt ("KB") & Jumbo ("Dillon") ran it for some time. It changed hands again but the name has remained the same. Over the years, it was expanded to the size that it is today & it really serves as a local watering hole for a number of local "regulars" who are basically very nice people. If you don't care for the food or menu in the dining room, sit at the bar & check out the bar menu. Trick, Phil, Sarah & the other bartenders will make sure that you have a very pleasant experience. My favorite selections are their nice sandwiches, the fried zucchini fingers, & rocky mountain oysters which can scarcely be found anywhere these days. Several folks have mentioned the great green chile chicken soup & it really is delicious for those of us that enjoy spicy soup. Drink prices are pretty reasonable in comparison to other places. The place has transitioned in 35+ years from a rather upscale restaurant/bar to a somewhat worn but comfortable hideaway that many of us locals think of fondly. It is one of but a few original businesses that remain in a struggling downtown Farmington today. I'll be the first to admit that Dillon's needs a facelift but in the flight of today's economy, I doubt that things will be changing any time soon.
