So, I'm flying into ATL and I decided to check IG to see which salons recently posted great…read morecontent with their silk press stylist so I came across Press Bar Salon in Lawrenceville, Georgia. Well in NYC all of the good silk pressed salons and hair stylists have all of these appointment requirements and it really felt so good to see this salon state that they accept walk-ins and just to call prior to coming in. Well, let's just say this was the best hair treatment that I have received in a very long time well 5 years to be exact. I went natural and this was my very first silk press and yes I got the works done. Let's just start with the amazing customer service I received when I just walked in and then the ambiance was just as amazing a the service. My stylist was Jonyece and she was very professional and she made sure that I was aware of all of my services and she definitely had the hands of magic because my natural hair came out so beautiful. The services I received was a black color, treatment, trim, wash and blow. Happy to say I now have a go to salon in Georgia. I would definitely recommend this salon to any of my natural yelpers out there looking for a natural salon where they can get an amazing silk press.

Nonetheless, my point is...I walked in for a "Blow & Go with a trim", I had been growing out my "baby bob" for 2 months. My hair was almost shoulder length and doing well, i just needed a little "dusting" of my ends. Walked out with an AWFUL MUSHROOM with layers cut in the back, no blending on the sides...I mean totally messed up a 2 year process of hair growth. Not to mention the "hostess" washed my hair and brushed it wet? I've been told this is a "no-no" in Haircare. Stylist didn't even clean the combs between clients, dropped the comb on the floor and just picked it up and continued to use it. DO NOT TRUST THEM AS I DO NOT BELIEVE ANYONE AT THE FACILITY FIR LICENSED!!!! BTW...I leave for a trip today and couldn't even sleep last night, that's how jacked-up my head looks! We were greeted immediately and quickly seated. 3 of us came in with only 1 of us wanting a haircut, but because of the quick, accommodating and affordable services we all got our hairs cut. 2 of us got our hair cut by Michael. He was very friendly and personable, cutting our hair exactly as requested. He did it quickly while still checking in throughout the process to make sure that we were happy with it. My sister's stylist was also very thorough and made sure to check in with me as well to ensure my sister was getting what she wanted. This is the second time I've gotten my hair cut by Michael, and I've been very happy both times. This salon isn't close to me by any means, but it's worth the drive. I will definitely be coming back for any future hair needs.

I really wanted to like this place. My stylist was very nice. I showed her the cut and color I…read morewanted. I thought we were on the same page. Unfortunately, when I saw my hair I told her it looked really dark. She assured me that it was because it was wet and the toner would fade a bit after a couple washes. I gave her benefit of the doubt bc it looked a little lighter when she dried it. When I got home and could take a better look, my hair was a full gray and beige color. I was bright blonde. I also still have roots showing. The salon hasn't responded to either of my messages asking what we can do to fix this. It will be very hard to correct this without ruining my curl pattern and I am probably going to have to get a keratin treatment somewhere, which isn't cheap. I told my stylist that I keep my hair light bc of thinning areas because they make me self conscious. They are fully visible. I'm not going to name the stylist because she was really nice, but I am not happy with the lack of response to my messages. I would skip this one unless you want something basic and without bleach.

Went in on Wednesday with my oldest daughter (14.5) who desperately wanted her cut her hair and had…read moreavoided doing so since the last couple of cuts were not satisfactory, in fact, she was in tears by the time we got home. So we decided to give New U a chance and I'm so glad we did! Julia is so incredibly precise and kind, my teen daughter told me she will never want to go elsewhere, that Julia must be her new stylist from here on out. The following day I went back with my younger daughter (12) for the both of us to get cuts. Julia did a fantastic job on both of us. Happy to say we all have Julia as our stylist from now on.
