Got my 2010 smog done was good at first then I had to bring another car my husbands 2023 outback I asked the guy if it needed to be done first cause it's so new and back home it doesn't he said yes turns out it didn't need to be done so I paid 60 for a car that didn't need it on top of the guy being 20 mins late to open normally I'm understanding but stuff like that upsets me just taking advantage of people for no reason I was happy it was so close to home but I won't be coming back read more

I have been putting off getting my smog check done and decided to go ahead and set up an appointment to get it done. I called and Steve answered the phone. He was able to get me in on short notice (I swung by immediately after we got off the phone) and get me taken care of. I was in line after one other person, which didn't take long at all. The test itself only took about 10 minutes and I was out the door. Zero hassle. I'd recommend this place for sure. Edit: Oh yeah, he also took the time to point out a couple of recalls that were out on my car, and recommend I take it in to the dealership to have them fixed. I really appreciate that he took the time to not only point this out but print something for me to take with me to my dealership. read more

I don't know who needs to hear this but... YOU DON' T NEED THE OFFICIAL RENEWAL DMV PAPER TO BE SMOGGED. If you are like me you lose a lot of your mail mostly cause you don't check it and assume most of it is spam.... Tag renewal time and I couldn't find my notice. Stressed out I'll miss the due date I call KG SMOG to ask if they absolutely need the form. The phone rings at most twice and the owner answers. I ask if he needs the notice and he says "no, come on by!!" I drive in an hour later and he remembers I call. The whole thing took 15 mins at most. There was no wait. I believe it was $50.00. I wish I remembered the name of the owner. He was so kind and professional. I didn't feel out of place. I felt welcomed! He even answered a couple of random car questions I had. I got both for my 93 Previa -smog cert and reg. Sticker in about half hour or so. The smog test was alittle cheaper than elsewhere, but the reg work very was definitely cheaper. I called KG Smog bc North Park Smog check owners didn't show up at 9am today (saturday) as is posted on their sign. I got there about 20 min after they were SUPPOSED to open and waited until 945 then I started to make some phone calls to other smog check places in the area. Initially I called KG, but no one answered. I called another place that was supposed to be open and no answer. Then 2 min later the owner from KG called me back saying that he noticed he missed my call bc he was on the other line with another customer. I asked him how much he charged and told him I would he over there. Right after I hung up with him, the guys from NP smog pulled up and I asked them why they weren't there when their sign says 9am. Then both laughed and one guy said "we plan to be here at 9 but we hit traffic." No apology or anything which is unacceptable in my book. Even though NP smog finally arrived I told KG Smog I would be there so I wanted to keep my word. I arrived and there and wad one person already there. The owner, I assume, greeted me and asked me for my DMV smog slip. I filled out some paper work which didn't take long. He made small talk with me and is an genuinely happy, nice, considerate person. The smog check took 10 min or maybe even less. I paid him with my debit card for which he asked for ID. He told me he did that bc he's heard of people knowing other people's pin numbers and stealing money. He didn't want that to happen to his customers which is very noble of him. I passed the smog check and he shook my hand. He seemed very appreciate of my patronage as well as the other guy that came by. Got my car smogged here today - only took about ten minutes and $45. They are super nice and did a great job. I ended up here after trying 4 other places - one was closed during normal business hours with no notice, one lost their smog check license (again, no notice), one no longer did smog check at all, and one wasn't a smog only station (despite being listed as one on Yelp.)
