Overall, K+K Hotel Fenix was a nice stay and I felt welcomed from the start. Check-in was smooth, the lobby was clean and inviting, and the room was comfortable -- not over the top, but cozy and well kept.
I stayed in a balcony room. I didn't get a chance to actually use the balcony, but it did have a street view, which was a nice touch. The hotel's location is definitely a plus -- very close to shops and the Christmas markets, which made exploring Prague super convenient.
However, there were a few issues that kept this from being a 5-star experience. I went to the hotel bar a few times and was told by the bartender that they were closed, even though signage in the hallways and elevators stated the bar was open until 11:30 PM. I later confirmed with front desk staff that the signs were incorrect. This should be addressed, as it's misleading for guests staying at the hotel.
Another concern was with the welcome drink. While complimentary beer, wine, and soft drinks were being offered, I had an issue requesting a virgin mojito (which is simply seltzer water, sugar, and mint). Daniel gave me a very hard time over this request, which felt unnecessary, especially considering other drinks were being provided for free. After that interaction, I didn't feel comfortable ordering drinks from the bar.
I also asked to speak with a general manager on site but unfortunately kept getting the runaround.
This hotel had the potential to be a 5-star experience based on comfort, cleanliness, and location alone. Unfortunately, the bar service issues and lack of clear management response brought it down to 4 stars for me. read more
