So very disappointed in this bakery! We ordered a 12-inch red velvet cake for our daughter's engagement party two months in advance. When we arrived to pick it up on Saturday, we were told they didn't have our cake. To make matters worse, there was no real effort to resolve the situation--just an offer to take cupcakes instead. We received a refund, but that did nothing to help us just hours before the party. We had to spend the next couple of hours scrambling to find a replacement cake. This was a very important milestone for our family, and the lack of preparation and customer service was extremely disappointing. I would not recommend this bakery based on our experience. This local bake shop is small and quaint, but has the goods! ;-) I tried the raspberry crumb cake, and the only thing I wish it had more of was the raspberry preserve/jam on the inside! The cake was fresh, not overly sweet, and exactly what a crumb cake should be. The slice they give you is huge, a very generous serving for only $5.00. I appreciate that it comes in a small box, labeled with love, instead of a styrofoam pop open top. The customer service was great, the lady at the front was so nice and welcoming. Thanks K.K. I walked into KK Sweets today and unfortunately had one of the most disappointing customer service experiences. The clerk never acknowledged me, no greeting, no "I'll be right with you", and instead carried on a full personal conversation with another customer for at least six minutes before even taking her actual order. When she finally finished, she walked to the back to get another clerk to assist me, again without a single word of acknowledgment. If I hadn't been craving flourless chocolate cake, I would have left sooner, only to be told by the younger clerk that they were out. To be fair, this is not a reflection of the owner. I've visited KK Sweets twice before, and both times the staff were kind, welcoming, and helpful. They also carry great vegan products, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, that was not my experience today, and sadly, it's the one that will stay with me.......I will not be back. After two years of being in and out of the area, and now living around the corner, we finally stopped in to try this bakery because our old favorite closed. Upon walking in, they have a pretty good variety of treats for a very small space. My partner and I were in awe of the size of the croissants, which were nearly as big as our head and gorgeous. We wound up getting a chocolate croissant, blueberry turnover, porkroll scone, and sourdough pizza. The chocolate croissant was crispy, flakey, and indulgent. The sourdough pizza was fluffy and soft with just enough tang that I haven't managed in my own sourdough yet. The scone was flavorful and tasty, but on par with my own, and the turnover had perfect sweetness, but wasn't as flakey as my favorites. My first attempt at trying this new bakery was a failure. It was the Saturday before moms day and I expected the choices to be limited when I arrived about 1.5 hours before closing. But instead I found a sign on the front door stating that they closed due to selling out. Well that just made me want to try it more. A few days later I returned midweek around noon and was happy to find several choices. The huge cookies were tempting, esp the dark chocolate one, but since it contained white chocolate chips it was quickly rejected. But the flourless chocolate cake would go in the box, as did a canele and a lemon meringue tart. There were a few other item that looked very good but I didn't want to be a glutton. I ate the canele in my car, candied crispy outside and a light custardish center. Nice. Much later I tried the other 2 items. The lemon tart was very good, similar to a shortbread crust with perfect meringue top. I'd love a full sized version. The chocolate cake was my fav of the 3. Great texture and even better dark deep choc flavor. This can satisfy a very strong chocolate craving. Service seemed very friendly. One employee was chatting with the one other customer while I was drooling over the contents of the cases. The chef/owner stepped out of kitchen and took my order. K.K. Sweets is a new bakery that just opened earlier this fall, selling macarons, cakes, and French style baked goods. They're really active on Instagram @kksweetshamilton and on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/KK-Sweets-114744810227436/ They post about specials and flavors there, and they add new items all the time. I was really happy to see that they have several types of classic French pastries that are hard to find in the area. The owner used to be the pastry chef at Kristine's in Princeton, and I've tried her tarts there before. I was excited to see that they have canelés ($2 each): the only other place I've seen them locally is at Lost Bread Co. My favorite item I've tried so far is the apple financier ($3.25), which was really fragrant with a very moist, almost custardy texture inside. Service is super friendly and helpful :) I definitely recommend paying them a visit, and I'm looking forward to coming back and trying more of their baked goods! read more

The staff are all knowledgeable, kind and make it feel easy when ordering specialized things or what's in the cases. I have gone here many of times due to the convenience of this bakery...and have the time the baked goods I have picked up have been great, and other times have been stale. When they are good, they are great...however I have my regular go to items, and every time I go and get rung up, it comes to a different price. I have let that slide, they are a small business and it is not enough to break the bank, but at the same time, don't really understand the inconsistency. I had bought a local flavor voucher for here, and I thought it expired over the weekend, but when I realized it expired the day before. I reached out and went to the bakery since I was right there...I spoke to a worker right before closing, and she said she couldn't do anything about it to reach out to the owner. I knew I wouldn't be able to get to the bakery the next day, so I sent an email to her letting her know I was just there, spoke to a worker and wanted to ask the courtesy of honoring the voucher by 1 day. She responded with "due to the economy that she would not be able to but as a courtesy, she would let me use the face value of it by Sunday". On the voucher itself it says the face value of it can be redeemed until 11/26/2026. It was a matter of $10. And then the very next day I see on the bakery's Facebook page, sign up for a coupon $5 off any purchase. So with that said, instead she would rather lose a repeat customer and then some. I told one of my friends this, and she told me the last time she was there, she bought several crumb cakes that she was delivering to a local business, and had asked for napkins. She said the person working there said they cannot supply napkins as they would then be considered a restaurant and have to charge tax. They charge tax anyway so she was very confused by that answer. All in all there are plenty of other very good bakeries in the Hamilton area. read more

Tried KK today for the first time. I picked up a variety of things: cake pops, scones, flourless chocolate cake, profiteroles, and some others. We nearly ate it all in the first several hours home. The fresh cream in the profiteroles was light and delicious. The cake pops looked like little ice cream bars on sticks and featured chocolate and cake batter flavors. I could not be happier with the cakes for my daughter's first birthday. We did a smash cake for her photo session and a 3 tier with a cupcake for her to have at the party. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I had a cake ordered and my brother went to go pick it up. When I came home and saw the cake I was extremely disappointed with the presentation. It looks nothing like the reference picture and video he sent. I called immediately and spoke with the owners mother. I had a nice calm tone and she immediately hit me with a raised voice and was super unprofessional. She made excuses as to why the cake didn't come out how we wanted but it's such a SIMPLE cake and they still got it wrong. I work in customer service and always go above and beyond for customers (even the difficult ones) so I expect great service back. I guess KK Sweets isn't one of those places that gives exceptional service. I will definitely not be coming back again since that's the way they treat their customers. read more

I ordered a custom birthday cake from KK Sweets and was very disappointed. I submitted a request via the website with the design, birthday message, and names of our girls that I wanted on the cake. Kelsey emailed me that they could do the design and that they could put the birthday message on the cake and our girls' names on the cake board. When it was time to sing happy birthday on the day of the party I opened the cake box to find NOTHING written on the cake or cake board. I was shocked and very upset by this. I ordered a birthday cake and just got a cake. I would expect more of a grocery store cake and this was an expensive custom ordered cake from a bakery. I paid this premium price because I wanted something special for my girls. When I reached out to Kelsey about my disappointment her response was that she was "sorry the cake designer missed that detail." To me this poor customer service made the situation even worse. I think referring to leaving the entire birthday message and names off the cake as a "detail" is really minimizing the mistake. How do you provide a birthday cake with no birthday message? We had a contract for a particular design and message and they did not fulfill their part of our agreement. I included this in my reply to Kelsey, to which she didn't even have the decency to respond. I would recommend you go elsewhere when ordering cakes. read more

This sweet little bakery is the new hidden gem in the area. I've tried 12 or so macaron flavors so far (they constantly rotate through different ones), and each has been perfect both in taste and texture. They've got the macaron thing down! I've also loved their blueberry scone, chocolate & birthday cake cakesicles, rich chocolate cookie and petite gateau. Prices are really good, especially for the quality. Everything is fresh, and I think it's a good thing they maintain a smaller menu so they can really focus on quality over quantity. But with the rotating options, there's always something new to try. This is my new favorite bakery and the only downside its 45 minutes from my house (maybe that is a good thing!). I was getting my car serviced down the road and noticed the sign so decided to stop in on my way home. I bought a crumb cake, chocolate chip muffin and chocolate chip cookie and now I am headed back tomorrow for more. The crumb cake had more cake and although a good amount of crumb topping it was not too much or too sweet. Truly, the perfect ratio and the cake was so moist where often they are too dry. The muffin had chunks of chocolate and I am not sure what brand she uses but the chocolate was high quality. The same with the cookie. Honestly, this place is amazing! I am going to try the chocolate flourless cake next. Extremely clean, hot coffee and just a nice friendly atmosphere. I've been to KK Sweets a few times now. Most of what I've had has been delicious. However, my most recent visit was disappointing. My mom ordered my birthday cake from KK Sweets this year, and I've had their cake before and liked it. It was a great density and texture and the buttercream frosting was spot on. The cake for my birthday was very different from the previous cake I'd gotten from this bakery. It was so light that when I cut the cake, it appeared to deflate, and the edges where it had been cut drooped. My mom had asked for a traditional birthday cake, but this was more like an angel food cake. The cake itself didn't taste like it had any vanilla in it. The frosting was the best part, but I could taste the heavy amount of butter and sugar in it. I felt gross before finishing the first slice. I think the cake was overpriced, as well. $52 for an 8 inch cake with no vanilla and angel food like consistency. And to be honest, the customer service was not so great when we went to pick up the cake. The young man at the counter did not greet us when we entered and did not say thank you when given a tip. read more
