Sad to see the quality go down after new ownership. The cakes are not decorated how they used to be. Instead of the beautiful buttercream flowers that were their staple on every cake...is now basic icing. Sprinkles are hardly an equal substitute for the always beautiful rosettes we used to get. Clearly cutting back on ingredients. The rebrand is also very commercial now and is lacking the small bakery feel. For the most part the pastries taste the same although sometimes I feel as if something is missing. Been going here since I was born so it's unfortunate! They also spelled the name wrong on the cake despite spelling it out twice to them. read more

Their cakes are dry and crunbly. Ordered a custom cake and it tasted horrible. Almost as if they just make a bunch of cakes and mix and match when an order comes in, rather than making it fresh for that order. They also get bad reviews deleted. So i wouldn't trust them at all. read more

I finally tried this business and after 2 desserts can say I'm a fan. It's a small shop with only sweet items. I noticed various cookies and rugula, ready to fill cannoli , whole cakes and pies and slices of certain offerings. I bought the ricotta cheesecake and a chocolate truffle, both $4 each. The cheesecake was excellent, lighter filling than a typical one with a nice creamy texture and slight vanilla flavor, the crust was almost shortbread like, very good too. The chocolate truffle was coated in dark and the inside was moist and flavorful cake and a chocolate mousse cream. I would get both again. And the cost seemed reasonable, both were big enough to share. My one negative impression was that there was a very nice looking cherry pie sitting by the cash register uncovered. I'm not sure the reasoning behind this placement, and I wonder if it was an isolated event. I'll definitely come here again when quality desserts are needed. read more

I had never been to this bakery before since just moving into the area (now 8 years ago). A friend recommended them to me. I went there with a napkin with the theme for my son's first birthday. They were able to duplicate the clown on the napkin, on the cake. I was truly AMAZED when I saw the cake for the first time. It was like the artist who created the design for the napkin came and made the cake. The colors, the exact clown, everything was perfect!!!!! Amazing artist they have there. Oh, and the cake was DELICIOUS! It had rave reviews from everyone at the party...all asking "Where did you get his cake? It's so good!" They are famous for their coffee rings. (I think that's what they're called.) There were a few people ordering them while I was there; however I have heard about their rings since. Terrible experience at Nino's unfortunately. Bakery was unwilling to work for custom cake order. Even I was ready to chose from the collection they have but no response. When I went in person to place an order, I was told to email details of the cake. I did that however the bakery was very unprofessional and just said that they can't do it. Great, dependable bakery. In terms of their pastry, the cannolis are excellent, as are their classic Italian cookies, Napoleons, pies, linzer tarts, and cheese danish. Correction: the cheese danish isn't excellent, it is TO. DIE. FOR. They also do custom cakes, which are tasty and reasonably priced. I did take off a star because of a few small things (that all add up). First, they're killing me with the coffee! I'd stop here every single morning if they had a better choice of beans! Second, would like to see more availability on Sundays. A few times I've wanted to stop on the way to Sunday dinner for some cannolis and they were closed. Such a bummer. Finally, the counter staff (usually younger girls) could be a little friendlier. My family has been ordering special occasion cakes from Nino's for as long as I can remember. Always always always a delight. Some of our favorites is any cake with the cannoli filling and the Napoleon style cake. They are always perfectly decorated and made to our exact specifications. I don't often go in and order anything from the display case as I don't find everything appealing. The exception would be the cookies, which are delicious. Also, the young girls working behind the counter don't have much product knowledge and can be a bit attitudey. I was once in there when another customer was asking about the St. Joseph pastry. The counter girl could not answer one question and was clearly annoyed that she was being bothered. I found myself explaining it to both of them. All this aside, the cakes are delightful and the family who runs this bakery does a really great job in the back. I have had the pleasure of speaking with the owner and his daughter about cakes I was ordering and they were so kind and helpful. For your next family birthday, give Nino's a call and try for yourself. They don't disappoint. read more

Small little italian pastry shop located conveniently near wawa. Minus one star only for their hours. I think they close at 7 and thats standard for a bakery ( i know) but still. Service with a slight smile-- i wasnt floored , but didnt matter. I got their chocolate eclair with custard filling.. and it was just what i was looking for! Not overly sweet, the donut part of it was buttery, crusty goodness! The custard tasted fresh and chocolate icing was royal but not overbearing. I loved it and could probably eat 5 in one sitting! I also had a piece of their chocolate chip cookie- it was a little too sweet for me ( and im a sweet tooth).. for some odd reason it tasted less fresh than paneras chocolate chipper ( which is strange to me since i could smell all the baking in the store).. but maybe i just got an overly tough cookie. I will have to stop by again to re-test ;) I got an apple danish, cannoli pastry and a chocolate chip cookie ( 1.50/huge panera sized cookie) for the family. They absolutely loved everything. We are still waiting to tap into the cannoli pastry, so ill update with that later. I sawa yummy looking cakes that were a bit on the pricy side ( 22$ for a cake that maybe feeds 4-5 people?) This place is absolutely amazing and quite charming. Actually, I'm going to start this review by giving kudos to the young ladies that work there. I don't know where the owner finds these young ladies but they are as sweet as the delicious pie that they serve. Everyone of them makes it a complete pleasure to go there and engage with them and listen to their suggestions based on your preferences. Unfortunately we weren't happy with the engagement cake we ordered from Nino's. Our cake had some mistakes - we specified in our order that we wanted chocolate buttercream filling and we received chocolate mousse instead, the cake writing on the top also misspelled my fiancé's name, and overall the cake was dry and lacked flavor. This made it difficult to cut into sliced pieces since it crumbled easily. We've come here in the past for standard birthday cakes which were fine but to mess up a $60 customized cake for an important event isn't good business practice. read more

I've never had anything here that wasn't great. They have a nice variety of cookies, Italian and otherwise, including cute linzer hearts and such. Their cakes have delicious frosting, and my family usually gets them for birthdays and such. That said, I think the star of the show here is the cheese danish. Theirs are just miles beyond any danish I've ever had anywhere else in my life, and seriously to die for. You need to get there early but it's so worth it. read more

This was my first time at Ninos. I never realized it was even there until I did a yelp search for pastries. It is a very straightforward bakery with no seating area. Just go and pick out what you want and take it to go. It would be nice if they served some Italian coffees or espresso to go with the pastries. You can definitely tell everything is homemade. I got a piece of crumb cake and when I say "piece" it was a huge chunk of the cake. My husband got the linzer tart and he loved it. There was a table for wedding consultations too. read more

I needed a local bakery to buy cupcakes for a last minute school surprise. A friend recommended I try Nino's and I'm so glad I did! It's a quiet and simple shop in a strip mall, but as I approached the door, my nose started dancing from the aroma of goodies. My eyes and stomach were getting excited with the various items I saw including the chocolate covered cheesecake, red velvet cake, apple danish, and so much more. I wanted 25 cupcakes, but they only had 17 on display. The lady said, "No worries, I'll make some right now for you." I took a short walk to Wawa and came back to my completed order. I have stopped by Nino's a few times to get Italian pastries and I feel that they have been hit or miss. I really like the cannoli and biscotti. A pound of Italian cookies costs $14 which is a little high considering they are just okay. I recently had a pumpkin cupcake and was also disappointed. The cake itself was vanilla and the frosting had a hint of pumpkin flavor. Honestly, if the label didn't say pumpkin I would not have known it was a pumpkin cupcake.
