    Goodness!

The owners have kept the exterior as it was when this place opened many years ago. Upon opening the door, you are met with the warm aroma of sugar, flour and other goodness. Many wonderful pies, cakes, cookies, and of course, their famous donuts. I particularly enjoyed their long donuts - perfectly fried, fluffy, filled with vanilla cream, which was smooth and just the amount of perfect sweetness. They do lots of custom orders, and do a lot to support the local schools. I recall seeing nice music themed cookies for sale which were in support of the middle school music program I believe. Very nice. We were lucky enough to meet the owner; she was enthusiastic, helpful and the perfect person to continue the joy of this bakery. Lots of parking side and back. Very much looking forward to our next visit!

Eet Gud Bakery in Hamilton is one of those rare survivors that reminds a person what the world used to taste like before it was processed, packaged, and trademarked. You walk in and the place smells like sugar, flour, and pride. The glass cases are full of pastries that look like they were made by someone's grandmother who still believes in doing things the hard way because it is the right way. There is nothing sleek or modern about it, and thank goodness for that. It feels honest. I asked them for a custom Green Day themed birthday cake for my wife, who has always appreciated a slice of nostalgia served with her celebrations. What they made was perfect. It looked like something straight out of their most recent album art, vivid and clever and alive. It also tasted like joy. The cake was moist, the frosting smooth without being cloying, every detail cared for as if it mattered. And it did. The people there are professionals in the old sense of the word, which means they take their work seriously. You can see it in the variety of their offerings, from doughnuts to Danish, all lined up like little proofs that craftsmanship still exists. In a world where everything is turning into a brand and every bakery is trying to sell you the same glossy mediocrity, Eet Gud stands as a small act of rebellion. The prices are not cheap, but then again neither is excellence. You get what you pay for, and sometimes you get more. Five stars for a bakery that still remembers what it means to make something by hand and to make it well.

Gud Eets Bakery - Trenton, NJ (4/5) Gud Eets Bakery is an old-school gem in Trenton that's been satisfying sweet tooths since 1922, and it's clear they've still got the magic. I stopped by right when they opened at 7 a.m. to pick up a chocolate ice cream cake and a dozen mini eclairs for my wife's birthday -- her absolute favorite pastry. Everything was fresh, rich, and full of that nostalgic bakery flavor you just don't find everywhere anymore. The chocolate ice cream cake was decadent and beautifully decorated, while the eclairs were light, creamy, and perfectly balanced. It's the kind of place that makes you appreciate how timeless good baking can be. My only gripe is the price -- I spent a little over $60 for both items, which felt a bit steep for the sizes. Still, the quality and freshness made it worthwhile for a special occasion. If you appreciate classic baked goods made the right way, Gud Eets is definitely worth checking out at least once.

A very friendly staff with delicious pastries and cakes. This is definitely our new bakery. 93 years in service and with how tasty everything is you would think they'll have 93 more. Cakes are delicious. My favorite is the apple fritter. So darn good. Absolutely a must try!

Eet Gud is our Saturday destination for post-theater class treats. It's no surprise I chose them for my mom's birthday cake. My mom is a huge fan of black and white cookies. I brought my inspiration picture and Tracey and her decorator handily managed the details: mini cookies, ganache top, chocolate cake layer, vanilla custard layer, vanilla cake layer and vanilla buttercream frosting. Everyone raved about the cake, even the cake haters! My husband who is not a fan of cake and icing asked for this exact cake for his birthday. I also recommend the following savory favorites any other day of the week: spinach/feta croissant, leek croissant, olive loaf. The sweets are always delicious, including the cream sticks, Italian rainbow cakes, Chickie and Pete's limited edition donut.

Back again and it was worth the trip - 3 things / Snowflake Rolls, Rye Bread and a Cream Donut! That says it all!

Fresh donuts always. Never disappoints. One of the best donut shops in the area. Make sure you get there early, they sell out quick.

Upon arrival there were additional charges for plating cookies or simply putting the items on a tray that was not mentioned and after pointing out they kindly waived the fee for using a tray. I wanted to pay in advance that seemed to be a problem because they charge by the pound when i was given a physical fee over email. Conversation felt tense and like I was a burden but I had no choice with the event being so close. Upon picking up the items my family picked up the baked goods and told me the employees were rude and once again felt like a burden and made sure to tell us plating will be $7 for next time. which there will not be next time. Happy to give my $200 to another bakery with higher quality product and a happier demeanor. Rainbow cookies are literately cake not the traditional cookies and cannolis have no chocolate chips in them. Feedback was it was okay but not great. Most guests told me since changing ownership, quality had diminished. For $200 i thought they would be nicer and happy for the business but based on quality and how we were treated, we won't be back.

But, the highlight goes to their amazing rye bread loaves. I picked up a seeded rye today. It was thin sliced and very fresh. As soon as I got home I lightly toasted two and spread sweet butter over them. With hot coffee washdown, they were delicious; slightly sour, and crispy to the last bite. Reminded of childhood when my grandmother and I would walk up to Broadway and 173 St. in Manhattan for a shopping excursion and always visit the local bakery for supplies. There was always a slice of bread for me handed over by the baker/owner who took pity on my slight frame. I also picked up several kielbasa sticks and a few noshes (pazciks, apple and strawberry cheese danish) to see how good they were. Yup. They were uber sweet, but damn good - but kind of messy to handle. The smoked sausage were all tasty and "snapped" on biting.
