This is one of my favorite beauty supply stores. I like coming here because you can get all your self care essential all in one place. Huge selections of beauty products, makeup, weaves and wigs. Anything you name they have it up in this shop. You can shop freely without being interrupt with your shopping. I walked in and they are shield up and covid caution for real. Well clean store with easy aisles to walk down. Shelves are stocked up. The only thing that lack this store is customer service skills. This store carries a plethora of hair products and their prices are reasonable. It is cheaper than Sally's and carries a much better selection. On each visit I have been directed to the aisle that has the items I am looking for. There's a private parking lot and street parking available. Beauty Supply stores liter the streets of Chicago. Finding your favorite can be overwhelming but Kstone is one that I have been going to for yearrrrsssssss!!!!! Their wig selection is ridiculously huge. When I stopped thinking that wigs were just for old women who slept with their teeth in a glass next to them in bed, I developed a deeper appreciation for this place. And the wigs are reasonable! If you buy a lacefront, they'll even put it on for you for a charge. There is a large selection of bundles and packaged hair. Tons of hair products to be overwhelmed by. The day before my appointment my stylist advised me her neighborhood beauty supply had run out of gray kinky hair we've used for my faux locs. I was in the area early morning so I called ahead to make sure they were open since it's New Year's Eve, thank goodness they were. Being it was my first time visiting I was so impressed with how large the store is but while trying to shop specifically for braiding hair for faux locs, I was out of luck. I love a good neighborhood beauty supply store. It takes me back to my own childhood. What I do not remember are rude workers. My daughter and her friend had 10 minutes before the store closed. The security man at the door let them in. I was waiting for them in the car when I saw the lights went off. I rushed on the store to see why they turned off the lights when 2 young ladies were purchasing their items. One of the ladies quickly apologized. But I am pretty sure they do that all the time. If you don't want the store to be closed early then close the store! Don't turn off the lights and don't take people money. When my daughter got in the car she said the security man kept telling them to hurry up! But when I went in the store raising my voice he said nothing. Coward. Bullying young girls is not okay. Prices: Moderate to borderline pricey Location: They have a parking lot. While the address says it's in Oak Park, it's actually in the seediest corner, directly on the line with Austin. Accordingly, lots of curb creatures and rejects hanging out in and around this location. I'll be back if/when I need supplies on a day during which my regular beauty supply in Uptown is closed. P.S. This place has everything designed to style, grow and beautify ethnic hair and make your makeup flawless with their large selection of cosmetics featuring L.A. Girl cosmetics. When Sally's or any other place lets me down, I go to this beauty supply store. I can't atest to the weaves sold here because I've never purchased or looked at their bundles or packaged weave, but I can say that their wig styles are fantastic. However they price wigs higher than a everywhere else. Wigs that are $29.99 at most other places are $50.00 here. Most of their wigs are priced at $50.00, which is ridiculous when it's $30.00 less somewhere else, but I guess people still buy they from here. They do get new shipments of up to date and stylish wigs frequently BUT they need more color variety in their wigs. They get sold out of the good color combimations fast and sometimes they just don't order certain colors, so when that happens I go to Urban Beautique in Maywood, IL because they'll have the color and style of wig FOR LESS and if they don't have it in stock, the manager and workers are nice enough to order it for you and have it delivered from their warehouse the same day if contacted before 3pm. Anyway, overall K Stone is my go to beauty supply for hair products, concealers and lashes. Also the black lady that works in the wig department could use an attitude adjusent. This is a woman's dream...weave, hair products, and make up in one place. K-Stone was very well organized and I didn't feel like people were watching me while I was putting items in my basket. Beware though if you buy curling irons, or dryers its a 7 day return policy after that you are on your own. The people were very nice and helpful. I will definitely go again! read more

I love this place! It's a one-stop-shop for my hair needs. Very neat, organized, and friendly staff. On January 11, 2016 I purchased three bundles of 22inch hair, which came out to roughly about $300 dollars. I was given a discount on the hair from one of the "Asians". The "Asians" ringing me up was not happy about the discount and blatantly showed his displeasure. After the purchase I stated "You are welcome". He said nothing. I asked "You will not say thank you?". He said nothing. I requested a refund and stated why. He was not at all apologetic for the treatment. The gentlemen in line behine me placed his products on the counter and also left stating, "That is just rude". The black staff were not kind and the asian lady either. The owner kept telling me to wait until they come from back and when one did, she said the wig section was not her area, and I have to wait until someone else come. terrible beauty supply. i been buying from this company for 6 years with no problems until today. i paid with a debit card for hair $175 when i asked for a refund in cash because i wanted to buy a different type of hair it became an issue. the manager had no control over the cashier who was being rude when i explained my situation. the cashier basically closed the register out of frustration of me explaining my situation & told me to stop talking to him. i will never buy anything else from this place ever again! read more
