I had a very disappointing experience with this pedicure service last week. The elderly woman who assisted me seemed distracted throughout the appointment and appeared more focused on conversations her coworkers were having than on providing attentive service. I had to point out several areas that were missed during the pedicure, and I unfortunately left with the skin on my toe torn from excessive filing. While I've had positive experiences with other staff members in the past, I would not choose to book with this particular employee again. I used to go to KT Nails, a few years ago. My last visit was a bit of a disaster. I went in for a standard pedicure. There was an older gentleman who did my pedicure. He scrubbed a lot on my feet. As a matter of fact, he scrubbed the crap out of my bunion. If anyone knows, bunions are literally a bone deformation under the skin. When I walked out, my foot was bleeding. He tore the skin over my bunion. I literally walked out with blood on my foot. It hurt like heck. It took 2-3 weeks to heal and it hurt to wear normal shoes. It was just awful. I'll never go back to this place. I've heard they were under new ownership when I went over a year ago. Not the quality it used to be. You have been warned. Be careful. read more

i've been going for over 2 years and they never disappoint, the one time i had an issue i went back and they fixed it no questions asked. i think i payed $30 for this and it took about 40 minutes. i did also get a pedicure with acrylic big toes and i think that was $60 and took another 40 minutes. i've gotten multiple designs and they're always great. read more

I was so disappointed! I made an appointment and waited until they called me over for a relaxing pedicure. The water was so hot I couldn't put my feet in. I asked to add some cooler water which they did after asking again. When they asked my name, the gentleman complained that I was 30 minutes early. I did apologize however I knew I was there at the correct time, perhaps they made the mistake. After some huffing and puffing by the gentleman, a lady rushed over, pulled my feet out and started my pedicure. Didn't say one word to me, didn't ask which pedicure I was interested in, used the wrong color and was completed in 11 minutes. ELEVEN MINUTES FOR A PEDICURE at full price ???? Was a loyal customer for over a year because they did a good job with my nails and pedicure usually for an amazing price...go in for my usual full set on the hands and toes and all of a sudden they don't do acrylic on toes? even though they've done it for me before? I asked them why and they couldn't provide me with an adequate answer, at least don't bullshit the answer to me. Nails have never looked better. Ive gone everywhere in woodstock and hands down is the best. Better than a lot of places in mchenry too. Lady was really nice and being 17 i still got exquisite service so i left her a $20 tip. Most of the time the techs think kids wont tip good and I hate that. There are two kinds of pedicures: Relaxing to the point where you know your feet are not getting a proper scrubbing; and then there's straight up foot torture. I'm definitely a baby when it comes to my feet. Overall my experience was pleasant, and the staff was very sweet. When I walked in, I was unable to be seen right away, but I didn't mind waiting. The layout of the business is very comfortable. The waiting area is huge with big couches and plenty of magazines to thumb through. Of course, the first order of business is to pick out your toenail polish. I was a little disappointed with the selections. I know right now, the hot color is one resembling Tiffany blue. However, I have seen women starting to wear metallic colors. I am very pale, and one of my friends, also pale, had metallic copper nails and they looked fantastic. I don't want to look like a corpse with blue nails. I was looking through the selection and found only gold. It's a cold summer, and I am not really into going out this year. In case I do, this gold is fine and matches my favorite pair of sandals. Most women would love this. In order to keep me entertained, the staff sat me early, and allowed my feet to soak. Any other day I would have loved this. I recently sprained my ankle, and the hot water was torture to soak in. I knew they were trying to be nice, so I didn't say anything. Plus I love the massage chairs! I was about to ask if I could get out when I was finally attended to. While I waited, I got enough sense of the staff to know the woman taking care of me would be blatantly honest, and probably quick. I also knew this would be torture. Especially with my ankle. I did point it out, but this did not excuse me from the assault with a pumice bar, or scrub bar that they use to remove the dead skin from the bottom of your feet. I couldn't decide what feeling was more powerful, the pain or the fact that I am very ticklish. My whole Zen experience in the massage chair was taken away in less than 10 minutes. Every muscle tightened in my body, and all the stress from my life was mounted back on to my body like a saddle on to a beast of burden. I think this is standard of most nail places. My feet don't see a lot of action and they're not used to being messed with. I have received a pedicure in the past (a different salon) where the woman had such limp hands that her light touch was so annoying and ticklish that I wanted to smack the woman into handling my feet with more authority. The sad truth is that you go into most nail places and try to explain how you want them to touch you, and more than likely it will get even worse than just sucking the experience up for what it is and sitting through it. I can't complain. The end result was that I left KT Nails with an excellent pedicure. read more

Been to this place twice and will return. Went to get a no-chip mani, supposed to last 2 weeks mine lasted more. Good color selection and reasonable price. Husband and wife team so sweet...and funny. Always joking about absurd things on the tv in the salon. Wife did my color change the second time i was there. She is quite the perfectionist correcting and skillfully painting. When i leave this salon i feel fancy with my pretty hands! My only thing is u can't tip on credit card so bring extra cash! read more

Prices are reasonable, but service is hit or miss. I have gone in and had a great mani/pedi that lasted a long time. Then - I have had manis that didn't last more than a few days. Also, the couple cuss a little too much for my taste and share a little too much 'personal' information while doing nails. Jimmy was great! I am not from the area and bumped into this nail place while visiting. They took me in without an appointment and I didn't wait as much as I thought I would.
