I'm really not one to leave negative reviews, but I was extremely disappointed in my last visit. Went in with a friend for mani pedis, pedis were great. I picked a nail swatch #407 that seemed to be a full coverage black glitter. My friend wanted a French dip. 3 coats into my gel and my nail is still totally visible through the glitter, doesn't look like the swatch at all. I asked for another coat which gave me the coverage I had been expecting, but the polish job was horrible, all lumpy and stuck to my cuticles. My friend wanted to keep her french dip short, which is her regular look, and ended up getting white, I'm not even joking, half way down her nails. She's asked for the under coat to be more neutral rather than pink, and guess what she got? Not what she asked for. When I asked to see the original swatch I had chosen from the basket, they wouldn't give it to me, just showed me the bottle which also displayed full coverage black glitter. The swatch I was given looked totally normal, not over thick, so why wouldn't I expect that my nails would be the same? We both mentioned that we had issues with our manicures and we're told that 1) the gel was messed up because I wanted too many coats and 2) french dips don't look good on short nails. If you know you can't do something someone is asking for and make it look good, don't do it! Spent over $160 between the 2 of us, before tip. Instead of offering a discount we were told we both picked something that was always going to look bad. I'm still not over the swatch thing, I'm almost certain the #407 they have out has an under layer of black polish, in which case I was lied to and shouldn't have had to pay full price. The refusal to show me the swatch was extremely sus. Also, that was genuinely the worst French manicure I've ever seen, I wish I'd gotten a picture. Again, if you know you can't do something right, don't agree to do it at all. Feels like we got scammed. Shame they lost a customer rather than offering a discount for their bad work. read more

I feel bad leaving this review, but I also don't want anyone else to waste their money like I did. This is a very small nail salon and I have a feeling it might be a husband and wife that run it. The woman did a dip manicure for my sister and the gentleman did a pedicure for me. There were very few colors to choose from which was a bummer so I ended up settling for a color I didn't love. It seemed like it honestly may have been the gentleman's first time giving a pedicure and I genuinely felt bad for him during it. He tried his best and took his time, but it still wasn't worth the $28. The bottoms of my feet don't feel soft like they usually do after a pedicure and my polish chipped after 3 hours. read more

My first and last visit here. I really liked the lady who did my nails but after a week or so of having my nails done I noticed a dark spot under the dip coating. I eventually pulled the dip coat off and noticed my nail is green. Went to the doctor and she said its nail bacteria which is generally caused by nail techs not properly disinfecting their tools. I have been getting dips done on my nails for years and never had this happen. I guess it was my bad trying a new place. read more

I've had some bad luck with other nail salons in Crystal Lake, but here it's always consistent... I won't go anywhere else. I cannot recommend them highly enough. This was the best pedicure I've ever had. Tom, I believe his name is, was thoughtful, gentle and incredibly thorough. I paid the extra $10 for the Spa pedicure and it was wonderful. The pedicure took an hour, and I loved every minute of it. Tom did a great massage. And my toes look wonderful. I'm so tired of getting pedicures and they dig under my big toe until it hurts, or rub my legs so hard I have to ask them to lighten up! I will be only going here from now on!! read more

I went to S&T nails last Sunday for a full acrylic set, and I don't normally go here but I decided to give it a try because they were open pretty late and I just really wanted my nails done. I was helped right away which was nice, and they took their time with filing and removing my cuticles. The nail tech was very gentle and seemed to take her time on my set, and by the end I liked them so much I tipped $15 on $45. Unfortunately when I got home, my left pinky caught my eye and it was completely crooked so I started to look more and more at my nails. From crooked, to thick, to bubbles already showing I ended up hating how my nails looked and decided to have them removed. Overall, the staff was friendly and the shop was clean, but my acrylics turned out to be a mess and I don't see myself returning. read more

Absolutely loved my experience. I called to see if an appointment was needed or if I could walk in. She told me either way was ok, but she could put me down since I was already on phone. Made an appointment and was 7 mins late. She had no problem and took me right away. She helped me pick out a color and told me about popular colors and let me know about ones that really came out darker when done. She conversed while getting ready and really concentrated when shaping. But began conversing again when she was ready to start in. I really liked that. Her husband arrived half way through and he was also very nice and welcoming. I absolutely love my nails. The prices in the picture have gone up $3 and I didn't know that until I got there. their nail salon is super cute and small and has a nice variety but they take so long!! there's only 2 workers and if you have a longer thing then they'll leave you to do someone else. it's so annoying and i asked for something way different than i got. she put them so short and not even the color that matched the the nails you look at. so disappointed. me and my mom had to pay a large amount.. almost around $100 for two but seriously? they could do way better. i'm super disappointed still. the purple nails is what i wanted and the blue-ish green is what i got, i wanted a mint/sage but isn't what i got and i didn't get the heart. wouldn't really recommend. read more

This nail salon is a little gem you're lucky if you find it. Tom is amazing at what he does. I first came in with acrylics on that someone else had done (very badly) and he removed them with great care and then is now helping me to repair my nails. I've very hard on my nails and I've never found a place where gels have been able to stay on... until S&T Nails. I ride a horse and work in an office and am relentless on my hands. After two and a half weeks you could barely tell a difference in my manicure, it was amazing and a first for me. Get in here if you can and you won't be disappointed. read more

I had an older man doing my pedicure; I didn't catch his name. I usually dislike having men work on my nails - I feel like they tend to rush and aren't as gentle. Not the case with this man. It's a little tricky to find because of the construction outside and I am sad if that hurts their business in any way. These people deserve to be busy ALL the time! Found it because of yelp and Google reviews, and I will never go anywhere else now! My no chip manicure lasted over 2 weeks and looked perfect! I came here on a day that I needed some major stress relief. I got the Deluxe Hot Stone Pedicure and a manicure. The service was wonderful. I'm still new to CL and had not found a nail place that I truly loved, until I tried S&T Nails! I took my cousin for her birthday and we've decided to make this our spot. Both technicians where so friendly and although they where there alone with more people coming in, they didn't rush through anyone. Also I must emphasize on how clean and professional they are. Every tool used came out of a seal autoclave bag and the pumice used to scrub calloused feet was brand new as well and then tossed out after. That may sounds like a basic rule to some, but I've visited a few places in the area that have not had the same practice. I would highly recommended going here! read more

if i could give negative 100 stars i would. i got there at 11 and it took 4 and a half hours for the ugliest nails i have ever had in my entire life. they only have 1 nail tech and she had no clue what coffin shape was. i had to ask them to be fixed about 100 times. and within the 4 hours i was there no other costumers walked in. Came here at 130pm today (Saturday) and must've been the perfect time since it started getting busy around 2:30. My 9 year old daughter got a manicure/pedicure with flower design. She loves it! I got a gel manicure and regular pedicure that turned out great. I really like the hot towels wrapped around my feet/legs during the pedicure. Very relaxing!!
