Because I am not an "authorized user." Well, as I told them, there is no one alive who can authorize me, but DirectTV won't change the account to my name. The only thing they were willing to do was cancel the account, and grudgingly not charge me the "early termination fee." And then I would have to start over again with a new account, and make an appointment for a service call to set it all up again. This company is the worst. When I do get up there, I will look into whether I can get some other provider.
