They were just starting in the area then and it was a whole different experience from when I had them replace my water heater again last month. It was 100% my fault for not feeling well enough to do some checking around for other plumbers. I was quoted only a total price for the water heater and the labor to install. I felt that I had been taken advantage of when the install was complete, but today, having had a reputable plumber come out for another problem and seeing what the reasonable hourly labor charge was, I am certain. Legacy Plumpmg was upfront about how they charged for hourly labor and it was a breath of fresh air. It was my fault for accepting U.S. Plumbing's bid, but I thought that they would be fair since I was a repeat customer. I was wrong and I don't want anyone else to be overcharged. I do not know if it played into the situation or not, but my husband and I are elderly and I doubt these people would want their parents to be charged what we were charged. Before dealing with this company demand to know the breakdown between cost of goods and labor of the proposed service and get some other bids. U.S. Plumbing seemingly bills based on what they can get away with rather actual cost.

Poole's was up front that just coming out after they closed would be $700, so I spent the night at a friend's. The next morning, they managed to move some things around to get me in that day at 10am. A two-man team showed up and got to work while k went back upstairs to keep working. They were polite and explained things. Fortunately they did clear out a clog in about one hour. I appreciate that Poole's will actually give you a figure/quote without charging you a fee to simply come out, then give an estimate. We hired Lloyd to redo our shower system, replace three water shut-off valves, and fix a broken…read moretoilet flange as part of a bathroom remodel. Out of all the jobs that he was hired to do, none were done correctly. First, the shower system and the shut-off valves were installed using Sharkbite push-to-connect fittings which are typically a DIY solution and are far less reliable compared to the standard methods for installing on CPVC and Pex piping. We know from talking to other plumbers that Sharkbite is not what professional plumbers would use in this setting. Second, he claimed that the broken toilet flange could only be replaced by cutting open the ceiling below, which i did not want to do. He ended up installing a $5 spanner flange on top of the broken flange (see pic). Again, this is something a DIY-er could easily do. We asked another plumber afterwards and he told us that the toilet flange could have been replaced without having to open the ceiling below. Lloyd charged us $700 for the parts and labor on this job. We communicated our concerns to Lloyd over email after finding out about the subpar work, but unfortunately we never got any response. We had to pay again to have the work re-done by a professional to ensure our peace of mind that the job was done correctly. I hope this review is useful to anyone who is looking to purchase his services.

I was very surprised to have such a quick response from Lloyd, the owner as it was well outside normal business hours. I think our last correspondence through Yelp was well into the nine o'clock hour. We spoke on the phone first thing Wednesday morning. He was very easy to talk to and patient in answering my questions. I never felt pressured by him. I found his quote to be fair and reasonable. His price was MUCH better than the quote I received from Lowes! I was glad to hear that he was able to schedule the installation of the new unit quickly. He said that he would arrive between 8:00-9:00 this morning and expect the work to be about 2 hours. He was very efficient and personable. I will certainly keep Lloyd in mind for any future jobs! I called Monday afternoon to see if someone could come out in the next four days…read more(guests staying for the weekend) to fix a moaning toilet, a leaky shower, a low-pressure shower, and a maintenance check on a water heater. After calling several other companies--Cary Plumbing, Waite Plumbing (who never answered or returned my call), Michael and Sons, etc.-- Bizzy Bee was the only one able to come that week, and although it may have just been luck, the scheduler said there was a cancellation and the very next day just opened up. The interaction was quick and easy; the only slight snag I might have is that Bizzy Bee works on an inspection fee (was $60 for me) first and does not give out estimates over the phone. This is understandable, because who knows what mess a plumber will be walking into, and, if we're all being honest, if we're calling a plumber to fix the issue, we're not as knowledgeable about the issue as we would like to think. It is a bit problematic if you take a day off work and the job ends up being bigger than expected (or parts need to be ordered), but I rather get the issue fixed correctly and have an accurate price quote after it has been looked at. The plumber who came out was Kenny Hoggs, and he is awesome! After a discussion of the issues and some inspection, Kenny went back to his truck to negotiate price with a supervisor. He came back and was upfront about how long it would take and what parts he would use. I have the benefit of having a father (lives across the country from me) who has been a plumber since he was 16; I, sadly, did not follow in his footsteps (the trades are booming, people!), and only picked up some basic skills. Yes, if I had the tools and the time, could I probably fumble around for several days and fix my issues while watching poorly lit YouTube videos? Maybe. Would some of it leak and potentially cause thousands of dollars of damage? Likely. I ran all the issues past my Dad and he let me know the price range I could expect for what I needed. Bizzy Bee came just under the average he suggested; as an expert in another field, I think the reviews discussing the expense of plumbing services need to remember that you are paying for expertise from a licensed plumber--not just the services being provided. Would you take the cheapest surgeon available for an important procedure? Kenny fixed all of my issues in three hours, was informative and open to any and all questions, and did not try to sell me anything I didn't need. I can easily say it was one of the best interactions I have had with a service provider. As long as Kenny is around, I will 100% take all of my plumbing needs to Bizzy Bee. Highly Recommended.

His contemptuous reply was much more troublesome than the fact that he refused to believe our photos and documented facts. We didn't call Bizzy Bee because we assumed that the mold inducing leak was not from the new toilet they installed just months before. We called Triangle Home Repair who noticed...after they had assessed the source of the leak, noticed that when the toilet was flushed, a new batch of water would emerge. Once it was reinstalled with proper wax ring...the problem was solved...after $1500 worth of repairs to damage. Mr President talked down to us as if we are stupid or liars, which I found inexcusable. Beware.
