For years I  have had dogs, and for years I have always wished that I had 'one of those dogs'…read more We all know what I mean by 'those dogs'; the behaved ones, the ok on a leash and doesn't pull you ones, the you can take anywhere ones, the ones that aren't an embarrassment. So before the arrival of my Irish Terrier puppy came I armed myself with all of the knowledge of the breed, I had made the choice and knew from day one that puppy training was not an option but a must for this dare devil dog. When Roots came we started with Puppy Training at Bosley's with Shannon from Yoga Dog, it was at the puppy stage I soon realized it was more about what we do as owners , than pulling the lucky straw. Roots and I continued with Shannon at Yoga Dog with agility classes, not for the sport but rather for the active training and bonding it provided, never mind it is a great form of constructive exercise for my Terrier and teaches him to be around other dogs. It wasn't that the dogs came behaving a certain way, but rather about what we do as owners,  I was very fortunate to have found Shannon and her services, I can honestly say that I now have 'one of those dogs'

From the owner: Yogadog combines a variety of training methods, traditional and new age, to find programs that work…read morefor all kinds of dogs and people. The five programs offered are loosely and humorously based on practices of Yoga. Yogadog specializes in puppy kindergarten, beginner obedience, advanced obedience, agility, aggression management and prevention, separation anxiety and basic pet dog training issues. In Yoga you first learn the poses, then master the poses, then develop endurance. Similarly in Yogadog Dog Training the dog learns the behaviour, then masters the poses and eventually learns to do the behaviours for longer periods of time with more endurance. All the courses and private consultations are aimed at improving the bond that the dog owner has with his or her pet and establishing better communication, so the dog can succeed. Most importantly Yogadog Training is fun and includes the whole family!

Not knowing her at all, and only communicating briefly over messenger, it was definitely hard to leave our boy with a complete stranger. For context, we do not have kids, aside from him. Mowgli was reactive, protective, and dominant. We would never take him anywhere that we would encounter other dogs as he was very unpredictable. December 22nd, we dropped him off to her. She recommended a MINIMUM of 2 weeks, but after further discussion we ended up deciding to leave him with her until we were back from vacation, which would be a total of 5 weeks. Our first impression of Shala was a little intimidating, and she was very to the point, but she did warn us of this. (Only reason for mentioning this is I really hope this does not deter others from her, because once we got to know her, she is truly kind heated person!) She was very good about keeping us posted on Facebook with updated pictures, and letting us know how progress was going. She was very responsive, and helped put our minds at ease when we would have our doubts, and asking ourselves if we were doing the right thing. On January 27th, Shala came to our place, to drop off our dog, and to go over what types of changes would need to be made at home in order to maintain these new behaviours. She spent half a day with us showing us what he was doing, why he was doing it, how to correct it, when to give praise and so on. We ran into other dogs on the walk, and she showed us, in person, our once reactive dog interacting with others without any issue. Today I walk though little mountain, hoping to see people and dogs. Mowgli is so much more comfortable in his now skin, and his demeanor is way more relaxed. I will still message Shala for advice and she is quick to respond and help. We will without a doubt be sending our dog back out to Shala when ever we need boarding, day care, or even just for a day to get some socializing. I cannot say enough good things about her. She is stern and direct, but she has a big heart and is EXTREMELY knowledgable. Thank you so much Shala.

We had arranged to bring our pup here once a week, and the first time i brought him he "ran away"…read moreon the group walk around noon. I asked what happened and was shrugged off with a message saying that she was looking after 30 dogs and didn't have time to message, after he was found i returned that afternoon to pick him in at which time there was no apology the conversation was 15 minutes of me being told how our lack of training and treating our dog like a child instead of an animal was the issue. I returned the following weeks on a casual basis, I take my dog away with me on work contracts and advised the owner of this through the summer. We returned in July for a drop off, and my dog again "ran away". I asked why this keeps happening, and was advised "lack of consistency". At this point I was very upset. My dog was had multiple walkers and had gone to daycare before without any issue. I would be extremely careful bringing your family members here, unfortunately she's the only one in the area available, which is why i believe she is busy. There was never any accountability for not watching my dog closely enough to not lose him, twice. I recently messaged back again feeling stuck about having no other options and was advised after bringing our dog here for months, that we could be added back to the waiting list if we wanted services. At no point was there a discussion about us being dropped as clients. Absolutely awful customer service and interaction.
