My dogs looked unfinished, uneven, and far below what I'd expect from a professional service. Based on the results, I'm left wondering whether the groomers have received proper training at all. This was our first time coming here and it was a great experience! My boyfriend and I were really nervous and I was unsure how to feel given that it looks like mostly dogs are serviced here. But our 3 year old cat had a relaxing time by the looks of it! He came home acting like his usual self (except much more calm compared to our drive here to drop him off). I was referred to this groomer by another shepherd owner. So I gave em a chance. But was pretty let down. He's a bigger pup. And although over due for a professional groom. He isn't neglected and does get baths and brushes at home and is an indoor dog. But $160!! Price is a bit steep. But would be acceptable if they knocked it out if the park. Unfortunately they got very aggressive with the de-shed. In some areas he looks as if he's a balding old man there's so little fur left. You can see his skin through the hair that's left. Not something you want to see on your long coat shepherd. Between the cost and end result I won't be a returning customer. read more

Payment also takes place outside. They really do their best to make your pet look great. Our dogs are always excited to go there which shows me that my dogs feel comfortable during their grooming. I was told I could bring my dog in anytime before 3:00 to have her nails trimmed . I left on my lunch hour . They were very fast & did a great job . I had them do the Dremel tool on her nails . They were able to get down low & they are smooth . My dog didn't seem nervous or upset she was vey calm. I would recommend coming here for your dog grooming needs. read more

Trying not to be passive aggressive here. I tried to work it out over the phone and in person to no avail. My appointment was made and confirmed about 5x via phone calls and text messages. Dropped off my dog 5 minutes before the scheduled appointment at noon. Didn't hear from them after 4 hours (I lost track of the time) and I called and asked if he was ready? They said he would be ready at 6pm. I said "what? A 6 hour appointment for a 2 hours worth of work?". After the call I was thinking that they hadn't even started on my dog and I called back and asked if I could pick him up? They said "no we just started". Four hours without food or water and my dog locked up in a kennel. After picking him up I asked if they made the appointment incorrectly? Or maybe had me on the wrong day? And if this were to happen again if they could let me know in advance? This didn't help the situation much with me being ticked off and the person at the front desk not very happy with her insolent responses. For sure won't be back. read more

They do a good job with COVID separation, and are skilled at cutting - but most recently we brought my adult dog and my puppy. Asked for a specific cut for the dog and separately a puppy cut (no cut - just shave his bum etc) for the puppy. They cut both dogs the same -- as the adult dog. I appreciate skill, they both look good, I suppose... but if I were to ask for a haircut and they cut all my hair off, however artfully, I'd be angry. And I'm angry about this. My daughter (for whom we bought the puppy for Christmas) is pretty upset. We wanted to keep the cute, soft, cuddly, multi-colored puppy fur for a bit longer. And I could forgive that mistake, if there had been any sort of apology or conciliation, but they basically send the cashier out and demand payment before they release the dog to you. My husband tried to tell them that they didn't do what we asked, but they indicated that the charge was what it was because they had shaved his bum and cleaned his teeth. We've been many times before, and the last time we were asked to sit in our car while "important" clients were taken care of (their words- not mine). I'm just kind of over this place, I wish them luck. Last straw for me. read more

First time here, just needed a bath, nail clipping and a brushing. For 80$ you'd think they'd do a better job deshedding my dog. Also, what an incredibly unfriendly group of women! I am not sure what the deal was there. It was my first time there and no one did any type of introduction...just "what is foxy getting today..ok bye". Kind of bizarre and I don't think I'll return :/ my dog also came out with eye boogers alll over her face like you can't clean that up?! We've been here five times and two of the times they cut our dogs hair in a way that we didn't ask for. Also they tack on a lot of extra charges without consulting you first so it ends up costing much more than you'd expect. We've never had this bad of an experience with any other groomer. read more

I have been going to K9 Grooming for over 2 years. Anna is always sweet, helpful & cares about my Westies. She does a really awesome job with both of my Westies. Sadie my female has a long Westie coat & Anna makes sure its long & a beautiful white. Barkley my male always looks so handsome when she is done with the Westie look. They have a great following & are always busy which shows me what perfect place to take my dogs. I always will judge a place by how many customers they have. If they are busy & all grooming tables are full that is a place for my dogs. The prices are more than fair for what they do & the shop is always clean. All the employees are not only friendly but really helpful with making appointments and what you want from your groomer. You will find that all the employees will help with whatever your needs are. I have been too several Grooming Salons & they are the best I have ever been to. You can tell they love their job & most of all the animals .I say stick to what your happy & satisfied with. Disappointed Client I normally don't speak badly about anyone but today I am speaking for someone without a voice. My schnauzer, Sasha had a terrible experience at your salon and it was never addressed. It was ignored! Swept under the rug! Completely disregarded as unimportant! Let me explain. Sasha was taken in to get groomed after a month long wait. She was recovering from a very serious surgery that saved her life. After explaining what she had endured and making it known that she was in recovery, I trusted the owner would take special care and kindness when grooming her. Unfortunately this was not the case. Now, I am not saying these accidents were intentionally inflicted on her but the owner not TELLING ME was! Sasha has a deep gash in her neck which was covered in some kind of 'guck' to stop the bleeding and the usual bandanna was tied over top. She also was cut on her chest and the bottom of her front foot pad. This was raw and I later discovered she would not stand on her paw. When I removed her bandanna the next day, I noticed the hardened 'guck' on her neck. Not knowing what it was I washed it off only to discover a huge raw wound. This was NOT A NICK! It was large and deep. I was very upset and went to the salon to speak with the owner only to find them closed. The next day I called and voiced my concern. I was especially upset that not only did my dog get hurt (three times) but that NO ONE INFORMED ME! There is no excuse for that. These wounds could have lead to serious infections left untreated. I was assured that the owner would call me back to speak with me! I gave her 3 weeks and now I'm tired of waiting! All I was asking for was an explanation and an apology! So disappointed! First - very expensive. Second - Both my dogs were just shaved rather then cut and groomed. One even had razor burns on the tip of his ears. Both got ear infections in all 4 ears when we had specifically instructed the groomers to keep all water out of their ears. Yes they had to be taken to our vet for ear infections and razor burns. Our vet suggested that we find a new groomer. read more

I can't say enough good things about K-9 Design Pet Grooming. The owner of the business is an extremely successful owner/handler in the showing community. I have been extremely lucky to have her groom my dog on a number of occasions for shows. As I live in San Jose I make a point when traveling across the country for a show to schedule a stop at the salon to get my show dog groomed. I will even take Hwy 80 rather than the southern route of Hwy 40 just to get Jenn to groom my girl. She has marvelous soft hands with my girl and always gets her show ready to perfection. I believe her skills have had a significant part in attaining my girls Championship. The salon is always clean, staff polite and it is obvious they all love animals. The first two times I went here they claimed that I didn't have an appointment and it turns out their system had created two accounts for me and After the first instance they did not fix it. I also paid for a D shedding treatment for my dog and she literally came out of the place still shedding everywhere. She definitely has not been brushed. If I could give them zero stars I would!!!!! I went in with a fluffy dog and told them I wanted him to stay fluffy and showed them the exact length and I also asked them not to shave his nose and they shaved his whole body! He doesn't even look like the same dog! When I went to pick him up there was a dog behind the counter that had a bad laceration from being groomed, which I understand happens sometimes, but they were very cold to the owner about it. I also found small lacerations on my dogs stomach. His ears have been bothering him and I looked inside and they have not been cleaned whatsoever!! How do I know that they even drained his anal glands at all? I won't ever take me dog their again because I can't trust them. I need to find a groomer I can trust that my dog will be safe and I actually get what I pay for!!! read more

Our two Italian Greyhounds enjoyed a 'day at the spa' here with the crew at K-9 Design...on short notice as well...just before Christmas 2016. The drop-off was a bit hectic, as I was handling two excited Iggy's to handle as well as "new client" paperwork. My wife picked them up about 4 hours later, and they were very ready to head home! Our two Iggy's were clean and smelled nice (could have had a slightly stronger cologne than what they used, as we could barely make out what they applied to each dog...), but overall the team there saved us a lot of hard work in the days leading up to Christmas! The owner of K-9 Design is a world class show dog owner/handler, just this year winning nationals and other prestigious awards. She knows the cuts for breed standards and will advise me on the need to keep my dogs clipped to their best advantages and presentation. Everyday I get compliments on the condition of my dogs thanks to K9 Designs. My dogs are all rescue puppies and they are of no special breeding, but when they leave K9Design they look (and strut like) they just won best in show, I am one proud Mamma walking my dogs now. There are so many reasons I love 9K Designs, first for my own pets, they have complete compassion for fears my dogs have when being left anywhere, the dogs are keep in a warm calming environment and loving hands always receive them. They are actually happy to go into the shop. I have a 15 year old girl(dog) who's over 70 lbs her range of motion is limited and they take extreme care to work around the limitations of her joints and delicately move around the old girl clipping and brushing her. She comes out like a new silk puppy when they are finished. I'm jealous we should get such care at the spa. I highly recommend their expertise at K9 Design, a consultation is worth it and getting to know the best staff in the grooming world will keep your dogs getting love from everyone they see. read more
