Julie is amazing!…read more We brought our 5 year old lab to get a nail trim. He was a bit anxious, wouldn't sit still, and would smell Julie's hand and back away. After a couple minutes, I was worried it wouldn't work out. But, Julie made it happen! Eventually, he was coming to her and he was even licking her face mask. She trimmed all his nails and was careful to not trim too much so his nerve endings weren't touched. She was very sweet and I was very impressed by her ability to get the job done given how uncooperative he was at first. I definitely recommend La Pooch!

He's the owner but is totally hands-on...not just a behind-the-scenes guy. He's right out there, scooping fish, chatting with customers about their pets, giving AWESOME advice about food, treats, medications, whatever you need. Even making deliveries for orders! (C'mon...what owner does that??) This guy KNOWS his product. He's just a really nice, kind, caring person who makes it very obvious that you as well as your pet are 100% happy with whatever you've purchased. So if you have ANY questions about, well, pretty much anything, he's your man. PSP in Somersworth is the only one I've been to so I can't attest to how others are run. And they're all privately owned franchises so they can differ greatly. But however you feel about the others, don't let it sway you from going here. It's always clean, well stocked and it's very convenient (next to Market Basket in Somerworth,NH...tax free! Woohoo!!) It even has designated parking in front of the store. You can even get your food delivered the same day! For FREE!!! There's also a sale rack in front which is nice. Something I learned last time I was in is that anything that is returned but has been opened goes to local shelters. (Love that!) Make sure to go on the web site and get on the mailing list, too. You will get coupons for 10-20% off your whole order and you'll also get points for watching 20 second videos, doing little animal quizzes etc. Points = money so you get up to $20 off your order at a whack. What's not to like about that?? You will always see people with their furry friends in there shopping and there's always a bowl of cool water for them, if needed. It's also very uncomfortable that they wont even let you inside the building to see where your dog is being cared for and groomed. We moved from Florida when she was 2 and she never had any issues at the groomer down there so I would not trust these people with your dog.

Just once, I would like to come here and have my order rung up correctly including my coupons…read more The last time I was overcharged by $4 because the girl didn't know how to take off the coupon I handed her, so she just pretended to scan it and stuck it on top of the register. I always make it a point to check my receipts when I get to the car, especially here at Petco because they don't have a screen where I can watch what's being rung up. Sometimes things that are on sale don't ring up at sale price, coupons don't come off, etc. Tonight, I was overcharged by $7.48 because the manager who rang us up was in such a rush to get us out of there that she didn't properly read the coupons I handed her. It may not seem like a lot of money to some people, but it all adds up, really fast since I shop here quite often.
