More than six months before my Tibetan Mastiff puppy was born, I began the search for a trainer for her. While I took a husky puppy to obedience training in the '90's and used that knowledge to put nice house manners on my dogs in the years that followed, I had no experience with this ancient guardian breed and knew I wanted to do more with her, including conformation dog shows. I spoke with at least 10 dog trainers in the Tulsa Metro and they unfailingly recommended the same training facility for the multiple training opportunities I was searching for--K9 Manners and More. When our girl was finally in our home and we had also found a Shih Tzu puppy the same age, we enrolled them both in puppy obedience class and also swim lessons. What an amazing experience this was! Our senior golden retriever also took swim lessons and we felt so much better that all three dogs could not only get out of the pool safely if they fell in, but also that our entire household understood how to train our new puppies. When we began the conformation classes with our trainer Kim, we learned far more than how to manage in the show ring; we also learned how to recognize the body language our dogs were expressing. Soon we began training for more than basic obedience and the show ring. Our Tibetan Mastiff bitch enjoyed the training lessons so much that she went on to earn her Puppy STAR Obedience, Canine Good Citizen certification, and Novice Trick Dog! Our Shih Tzu took another class and accompanied us to our private lessons to work on learning more as well. Soon my TM breeder and her granddaughter joined us occasionally for the lessons, and my new friend who had my TM's sister came too! Before we knew it, another breeder asked to join with her TM for some classes. This breed is notorious for being stubborn and difficult to train, and no one else around had any experience with Tibetan Mastiff training, so when people were surprised by how well trained my dog Zaya is, they were excited to take part in lessons with Kim! She helped my breeder's dog Magic get ready for and pass his CGC before he went to Westminster 2026, and helped both Magic and Zaya prepare for and pass their temperament tests. Yet another breeder from across the country heard of Zaya's success with Kim and brought me a puppy with poor socialization and high anxiety. Kim took on this pup as well and has achieved amazing progress with her. She will now accept treats from strangers and allow judges to go over her in the show ring. Zaya has now also completed her Farm Dog Certification and is a therapy dog working with CHAMPS. She is also actively working with me as my service dog. Another friend with Czechoslovakian Vlciaks has been training with K9 Manners and more in multiple disciplines for the last couple of years. She recently began training with us so that I can help show her dogs. The breed doesn't do well with outsiders, but with Kim's direction I was able to show two of her dogs at the 2026 Tulsa Canine Extravaganza. Halo and I even took Best of Breed one day! We could not have achieved all of these accomplishments without Kim and K9 Manners and More. We highly recommend them for all of your dog training aspirations, from group puppy and obedience classes, to agility, scent work, and dock diving, and everything in between. yes, Deb did help with me with finding a "distraction" to intervene in my dog's aggression towards other dogs...on a short, very temporary basis... However, the true fix was not found. Doesn't anyone know how to actually CHANGE the behavior? read more

Find someplace else. I signed up for puppy classes. After the first two classes on the third we had to go over all the things my puppy learned in the first two classes for the people that missed coming. I changed my classes for private classes thinking that would work better. The first class was okay, then when we showed up for the second class turns out they scheduled it for "yesterday" and no on bothered to inform us or call us, so sorry. Just not worth it. read more

October 2nd I signed up my dog for a dock diving class from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. prepaid $35. There were two dogs there my dog and another at 6:30 Evan said the class was over I said no we're paid up until 7:00 she said there's only two dogs so it ends at 6:30. On their Facebook site it does not say if there's less than four dogs the class is cut short. At times there have been less than four dogs and the class still runs the full hour. Evan was very rude to me walked away didn't say thank you or goodbye. When I was on the dock with my dog Evan would not leave my dog alone I told her she needs to learn to stay by herself and Evan kept holding my dog and I asked her not to my dog did not want to be held while I threw the toy in the water. My dog has learned a lot without Evan and then Evan steps in haven't seen Evan since last summer and all the sudden she wants to change things up. I feel I deserve half of my refund back because the class was cut 30 minutes short. I've never had any issues with any of the instructor since last summer and all of a sudden Evan steps in and trying to change it up. It seems like Evan was in a hurry to get out of there did not even acknowledge me as she was leaving totally ignoring me. And I told her the class was supposed to end at 7:00 but she kept on walking. read more

Absolutely love this place! I have participated in a variety of classes for many years at K9 Manners. I look forward to my weekly classes. The Instructors are very knowledgeable. Being a High School Teacher for 20 years, I appreciate the professionalism from the instructors. I can always tell if an Instructor is knowledgeable or just reading directions from a weekly list of instructions. Other dog training facilities spend wasted time during classes chatting about unrelated topics which results in handlers not getting equal attention. K9 Manners instructors offer something new each class and are experienced in time management, so each handler gets equal attention. After each class, I am able to take the lessons learned and continue practicing at home. The instructors recognize EACH handler and dog's learning ability, in order to adjust their teaching techniques for each team. The facility is state of the art. Very clean! read more

First helped me last Fall with a behavioral consult (one of my dogs started attacking one of my other dogs). Gave me a great plan to work through the issues and resolve the situation Later enrolled another one of my dogs in beginning obedience class. He is somewhat reactive but he did well with the class environment. Their obedience classes are structured differently than most, but they definitely helped my dog to succeed. It's ironic that this place has "Manners" in the name because the instructor had absolutely none. Unfortunately, my dog and I did not make it even half way through the class before leaving because Amanda (instructor) was so intolerable. Rude, critical, and egotistical from the very beginning, she constantly told us we arrived late (we were 5 minutes early), and expecting us to know all of her "rules" without any instruction or direction. I would rather drive my dog to Oklahoma City or beyond to train him in swimming than ever have to put up with her again. I wish I asked for my money back but it's not worth putting up with her for any longer than I already have. read more

Disappointed in the puppy training class. Each week the first part of the class was supposed to be a quick review but always ended up being 30 min or more repeating the basics for the new people. Then the rest of the time was just the trainer talking about her dogs with very little attention given to the puppies present. Very few new skills or tips were demonstrated or help given on how to train. I understand it was a beginner class but I had already read everything in a book I got free from the library. Would have appreciated more hands on , in person demonstrations instead of the "this is what my dogs do " talk. Not worth the $160 - get the free book from the library or watch videos on YouTube. read more

I wish I could put 0 stars. We took our 2 dogs for a swim class with Amanda. We did not make it 20 minutes into the class because of her egotistical and rude attitude. She was rude to all 4 owners and dogs throughout our short time there. I've never experienced costumer service so below standard. K-9 Manners & More is my place for dog training. I have trained many dogs in my lifetime at many training programs. At present, my husband and I are training two dogs in scent work and agility, and we've also trained in obedience, rally, trick dog, and the various levels in Canine Good Citizen. The reason I love K9M&M is that they care about our dogs as much as we do, and they care about us, the owner-trainers. As instructor-trainers, they are positive motivators for both us and our dogs. They are professionals with expertise, confidence and kindness. They know our names, and they know our dogs. We go away from classes each time with a feeling of our own confidence and reward--our dogs are happy, and we are too! Everyone, I hope, wants to feel they are changing or improving the world and enhancing the lives of those who inhabit it. Mary Green and the other instructors aren't just making us better dog owners, but they are improving our relationships with our dogs, making our canine companions and us better citizens. We tried the group class for puppies and had no idea that there would be so many people in the class. The individual attention is very little due to the class size. Most of what they are offering could be found in a $20 dog training book and practiced at home. When the instructor used our pup for a demonstration and wasn't able to get her to do what she wanted, she gave up! If you want someone to give you some brief instruction for you to go home and do yourself for $150, this is your class. If you want personalized attention in a group class with fewer people that doesn't feel like a cash grab, then look elsewhere. You get what you pay for... read more

I enjoy the different classes they offer at a reasonable price. Like other trainers, they require continuing education for their instructors. This is great! Horrible experience. Nothing but "know it all" ego's. Extremely rude instructor. Always had a set appointment every other Friday at 1.... Instructor was always late, & last time I showed up for my appointment she didn't even show up.... Not to mention while waiting on the No Show trainer the staff was extremely rude towards the dogs in kennels... Banging their heads into doors while dragging them out for a potty break. I was so heart broken at the way the dogs were being treated & the fact that the trainer yet again late/no show, I left & will never go back. $$$$$$$$$ WASTED. read more

We completed the puppy Kindergarten with our husky and now we are doing the Model Citizen class , it has really helped with this challenging breed. We were even able to take pictures with Santa at Bass Pro last saturday, received so many compliments on how well behaved he is. They gave us the tools to work with him every day. read more
